Dead phone? - HTC EVO 3D

Hey guys.
I was installing a rom on my phone (which I have done many times before). It was the CM 10.1 rom this time around. I got it installed per instructions and then I got the boot loop. I Figured, no biggy, been through this before. So I pulled the battery and went to boot back into the boot loader (vol - and pwr) and I get nothing. The phone wont turn on at all. It does nothing when I put in the charger as well (no led, etc). Did I some how get bricked?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Strange.
when you connect your device to the charger is there atleast a red dim light? you will have to look closely.
You might also wanna try a different charger or connect your phone to your computer and see if it recognizes it.

No dim light. The computer dings when I plug it in, but adb can't do anything with it.

Connect your device to your computer again and on your computer go to (guessing your on windows) Start- Computer. If you see this "QHSUSB_DLOAD" under devices with with removable storage then your phone is bricked. Theres still hope.. You can try unbricking your device from the two options listen bellow.
Dexter's HTC Unbricking Project.
Closeone's HBOOT Downgrade Toolkit Live
Closeone's guide you can skip the bricking steps because well your device is already bricked..

Thanks for the Help Astrikz. I tried the 2nd method with the CD and it just sits there with "Waiting for device". I do have QHSUSB_DLOAD in windows, so it is bricked. But it must be REALLY bricked. Bummer.

You should be able to skip to step 17 and start from there.

Sounds like you used the wrong cwm to flash a rom. The previous reply points to the NVFlash process that is your only path to recovery. Use ONLY bekit's v.08 CWM on the gtab.

Could be... but let's check procedure real quick.
When you put the tablet into APX mode by holding down the Volume Down key while turning it on what happens on the screen?
The thread KJ gave you does a lot more than restore USB -- but it does have a
section in the middle that tells where you can get Windows drivers and how they
install.
You might also make sure there is not a problem with your miniUSB/USB cable that
came with the tablet. We have run into that a couple of times.
Rev
Btw, did you use clockworkmod in ROM Manager? If so, that's your root cause. ROM Manager' cwm is very bad for your GTAB -- do NOT use. If you want clockworkmod, please use the .8 bekit version.
nvflash is the ONLY known way to fix this problem, as mentioned. I'd stick with Linux if you have it, as it's just easier imo. If "lsusb" is not showing anything, either the device it not in APX mode (power and volume DOWN for several seconds) or your USB cable or port is borked. You'll have to do some troubleshooting to find out for sure.

When I put in APX mode the screen is on but black then the tablet shuts off after three seconds.
fernandez,
Unless yours is different from mine, I think you are just in APX mode. It comes up
with the white screen, then goes dark black.
When you are in that mode, hook up your USB cable. The in Windows go to Start/Control Panel/Device Manager and look to see if you have an APX device
listed. If so, then try to nvflash.
Let us know what works and what doesn't.
Rev
Deferred to previous poster... ;-)
The screen actually only goes black then shuts off, but not white then black.
I understand what you are saying. Just never heard of one like that. Always learning
with the G-Tablet!
Have you checked as I described above to make sure it really is off and not connected
in APX mode? Not questioning you, just trying to exhaust the possibilities.
Rev
I had mine doing that on Sunday. Backlight came on and then went to black. It was going into APX mode. It turned out to be a corrupted file in the image I was flashing.
Wow, I switched the cable, that worked!!!

[Q] Reviving a Motorola Atrix HardBrick

Hello I need a solution for this Motorola Atrix.
Error Has Failed to Boot and then off to the second, I can not get over anything with any key combination.
I do not know why try method, even from here in XDA but the PC does not recognize me as I can not enter either the Fastboot.
Appears Failed to Boot and then off very quickly.
With all my soul appreciate if someone can help me, thank you very much to all.
I've charged the battery with a universal charger, and the low battery message disappeared but failed to boot still there
HELP! PLEASE! As I enter fastboot mode? somehow!?
This is not a hardbrick, so please change the title of the topic so as to not confuse others, and next time use proper and accurate terminology.
You need to charge your battery (in a friend's phone or get an external charger), and then use this tool (option 3).
Download link for the tool: http://cleanimport.xda/index.php?threads/1583199/ (bottom of the first post)
Not recognized by USB port, neither recognizes the Script

Apparently a HardBrick as I charged the battery to maximum with a universal charger and I can not enter fast boot mode to perform the script. Do not step on that screen and I used all keystrokes, has relieved me telling me not a HardBrick.
I am a relative novice, could you tell me how I apply fruitcake without the need for USB port recognizes the Atrix?
After charging the battery get the same message but without "the battery is too low to flash". Still does not recognize the USB port.
You tell me how do I make the Laptop I recognize your phone? Thank you very much for your concern and response.
Do you have all the proper USB drivers installed? I don't use windows so I don't know about specifics. Search through the forum or through Motorola's site for proper driver download.

I have all the drivers I mentioned in the topic of XDA, entire recipe to make the script but I still did not recognize it. No longer do or key combination to use, nothing more "failed to boot" and "NV Flash" a second before shutting off.
VOL + even left without battery, then connect the battery hold, light it and neither USB nor recognizes the RSD Lite or Script.
I've tried everything with Windows, but I also use Ubuntu, if you know how to make it recognize the USB with any method or any OS I ask that you share.
I'm desperate and do not know what else to try ...
Your going to have to flash back to your old firmware but you will lose root access- samething happen to me so i had a buddy charge my battery than i flashed back to 2.3.6 using RSD lite and i lost my root access but my atrix was back

Linux should recognize the device immediately, there are no drivers required. If yours is not recognized even under Linux, then there's something seriously wrong and I'm clueless. Sorry.
To confirm is the phone recognized under Linux, try running lsusb.

Neither Linux recognizes, is that no screen passes Failed to boot, then displays "Entering NV Flash Recovery" and then goes away.
If I leave it in the socket without battery appears EXACTLY the same but with "The battery is too low to flash" (as I show in the picture) and if I leave it attached to the power is not turned off, it stays on but does not pass that screen and I've tried all the combinations.
Please someone help me, is too much money for it to become brick: (

Yes, I tried but the computer does not recognize me when I connect the computer USB port and no way to enter fastboot mode.
Well I think that it is hard brick you can try to make a "factory cable" and if only function wher you can go is nvflash then you can try to get new moherboard or try sent to official motorola service.
P.S
In china is some motherboard repair companys but it is expensive.

If you flash the original rom with RSDlite, it must recognize the phone in the rsd mode even thought that phone just stays in the "failed to boot" state. I had once this problem of not being able to boot and somewhere i read that the phone automatically is in rsd and it really worked.
Try just to power up your phone, open RSDlite and check if it appears in the list, if yes, just flash the correct rom and everything will be fine again.
Good luck

I believe this is actually a Windows issue. Disconnect the phone. Right click computer, manage, device manager. Scroll down and start deleting "usb root hub(s)" at the bottom. Don't fret when the mouse control goes away. Once they are gone, reboot, and let them reinstall..
Then try again.

Waiting for device means that you doesn't have installed fastboot drivers installed correctly.
If you want to unlock it successfully then follow guide step by step. Make sure to wait 30min if you won't you may lock it permanently.

I encountered a similar issue when I tried to flash a new rom. I have 2 computers, one with Windows 8 and the other with Windows 7. I found that I couldn't get adb working on the Win8 PC but it worked nicely on the win7.
You should also make sure your USB Cable is good and not plugged into any USB Hub or USB 3.0 plug
Best to plugin to the motherboard directly. I learned this the hard way one day with a USB Hub. Nothing worked till i unhooked the Hub from the PC

[Q] Nexus wont boot

Hi
New on here so sorry if I don't know to much
I have a Nexus 7 2012. Install Timurs kernel and Rom on my tablet and installed it in my car, and it worked great for months, then the other day it shut down. When I rebooted it, it gets stuck on the Google logo.
If I try boot into recovery it once again gets stuck at the Google Boot logo
I can get it into Fastboot mode but it wont connect to the PC. I am sure the Drivers are ok as I have another nexus 7 and i have today flashed a new rom using the WUGs Nexus Toolkit
Any Ideas anyone as at the moment I would class this as bricked as it wont boot, wont go into recovery and wont connect to the PC
Any advice would be hugely appreciated

When you plug your tab in, does it even attempt to load drivers and just fails or does it not even recognize that you plugged anything in? Make sure by checking the Device Manager as you plug / unplug. If it just doesn't load correctly, then attempt to load the Naked Universal Drivers manually and then you should be able to get things back on track at least with fastboot flashing the stock img files back to it. If the Device Manager doesn't change or show any differences when you plug in the tab, then that's a bad thing... If you can boot to the bootloader still, most likely it can be fixed. If it only boots to a black screen and when plugged in shows the APX driver, you're boned. That problem IS fixable, but only if you would have saved your blob.bin and wheelie blobs before it went down, which I am certain you didn't do as it is not a common procedure.

Hmm. Very odd. Typically if the bootloader is still there, the rest is easily solvable. What happens when you choose the recovery option from bootloader? Unfortunately you have to test some more things to eliminate the easy stuff. These include trying different cords, ports, and computers. If possible, see if you can try a Linux PC as well or at least a Live CD. If TWRP still loads at all and supports USB OTG, you might be able to load something from it as a long shot.

Sucks man. Such a random thing and not typical of most Nexus issues. This is the only other option I can think of then: http://mobiletechvideos.mybigcommerce.com/asus-nexus-7-2012/ - Brick service. These guys are legit. They have a great reputation and I've personally used their services twice (different devices) and one was fixed while the other was a lost cause, but Josh was nice enough to refund some of the money since it didn't work. I'm guessing they would need to do what's called a JTAG service where they hook up (usually solder) a special cable to a specific port on the board and it kind of circumvents the other issues and reloads the OS back on.
Thanks for all you hep mate will prob give them a try
No problem. Good luck!
