I was trying multiple firmwares on my Xperia 1 iii and suddenly at a point the phone did not have any les indicator, did not turn on, did not show any error message or display. It’s more like it doesn’t recognise anything at all. When I connect it to my pc it says somc flash device. Also when I connect it and try holding the power button for about 20 seconds, I hear a disconnect sound and the somc on the device manager disappears. Then after a second or two without me doing anything the connect sound comes and it reappears. If I try to flash with new flasher it says no device found.
Things I’ve tried
1. Charging the phone for durations ranging from 20 mins to whole night
2. Trying to hold power and volume up button or down button or both for 20 seconds or two minutes
3. Leave it untouched and try after some time
4. Most other things on coda or google
At this point it’s just a paper weight. Sony isn’t available in India so no scope of warranty. I’m open to opening and fiddling with the device internals given at this point it’s as good as dead. Please help

Haha I know. Have had a lot of phones till now all of which I had rooted. So probably I was like whatever happens I can flash again. This is a new situation though so kind of broke my confidence. I did try Xperia companion. Didn’t detect my phone though. Any other ideas like opening up the device? Could it be the battery cos the port seems fine as it’s detected

Boot up and flashing takes a fair amount current. If the battery can't supply it...
Don't attempt to flash it with a low or bad battery as it could corrupt it.
Yeah I havent done it Any other suggestions?

Replace the battery, charge to 100% and try the different solutions.
Make sure the port and cable are 100% A-ok.
The firmware end of it I know very little especially Sony. If Samsung keeps screwing up my next phone could be a Sony.

When you said Xperia Companion is not detecting your phone, have you checked in Device Manager if Windows actually detects a device plugged in? Could be SEMC and other names, don't remember what they stand for.
I guess you've already tried another usb port and a different cable?

Turn phone off then connect it via USB, hold power and Vol Down and it should show up on the PC...what it will show up as depends on what you have installed...now if you run new flasher does it quit right away or ask if you want/need to download the drivers???

If there's no way to access it, it's hard bricked. The manufacturer can probably access it though.

hello people.
i was trying to flash the kernel from ics 4.0.4 . first i connected it to the computer to flash it from odin. the green thing that was supposed to show up in odin didnt show up. me being dumb, i clicked start on odin for the heck of it. on odin it said fail. on my player there was this weird symbol.
i tried taking out the bettery and then i waited a few seconds. then i turned it on and the same symbol was there. i also tried going into download mode but when i tried it just showed the weird symbol and then turned black and again and again. i also tried going in to recovery which also did the same kind of thing. (bootlooping) . so has anyone experienced this before.
device info:
samsung galaxy player 4.0 (usa version)
terrasilent kernel
rooted
running icyfusion.
any help would be apperciated!
Its basically the same thing as the Download Mode sign. Don't worry about the awkward symbol, just means you are in download mode

He said that it's the same as download mode. For your information this mode is a forced download mode which means that you need to flash something to get over it. In this case a new kernel.

Try these:
1. Be sure to have anything Kies related not running [as a process] in the background (Task Manager alt+ctrl+delete on your computer)
2. Restart your computer and try the same usb port again (Kies process closed again).
3. Try a different USB port.
4. Try a different usb cord (I have over 4 in my home due to phones).
5. Try a different computer (I have two in my home).
Flash your kernal again as this is usually the case the phone dash exclamation sign icon comes up, odin of course.

Hi! I used Flashtool to flash to "WT19i_4.0.2.A.0.58_(1254-1868).ftf". When I tried to flash to "WT19i_4.1.B.0.431_Generic.ftf", and start my phone in flashmode, I always get an error that the USB device could not be recognize. Now I am sitting here with an old, stupid version of Android.
I did not change anything between the flash to .58 and .431.
I am running Windows 8 Pro x64.
So try reinstalling the drivers
And you have to select the firmware first, click ok and wait until the popup to plug the device in in flashmode appears, then power off the device, wait 20 seconds, hold volume down and connect in flashmode. This should work

Thanks for the reply! I already did that a hundred times. I reinstalled SEUS, Flashtool, Flastool-Drivers. Nothing works. That is independant from selecting a firmware. In any case, Windows 8 recognizes a device, when I attach the phone with in flashmode (turn device off, hold volume down, insert usb cable). I just get an error:

Yes, I did that. No succes. Besides, it worked once without doing that.
Not having a phone for almost one day was terrible enough to install Windows 7 into a VHD and boot from that. As expected, everything worked well then. I hoped not having to do that.
Hi,
My Xperia U will no longer boot into fastboot or flashmode. I connect the cable while holding the volume up button and the led comes on for around 2-3 seconds, but then turns off. I have tried on different computers (windows 8 and 7), I have flashtool and all the correct drivers installed, but it still doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,
I isntalled that rom with kernel. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2391858. and the problem is now that my pc, cant see my phone, i tried every method i found on the site. i instaled all drivers and reinstaled from flashtool like 10 times, and my pc still doesnt see device. while i try to connenct via fasboot. i have the violet light for like 2 sekonds and after it the device starts to boot normally, same is with flashboot. flash tool does not give any msg of connecting a device. can any tell a way to get it working? i want to flash to stock soft. but i cant cause nothing sees the device with installed drivers.
FOrogot to ad that i flashed the aospa rom, cause i thought i will get usb working atlast. but im stuck now on com.android.phone stopped working, and i cant even download any other rom using phone:
EDIT
Just read in nemesis kernel topic "* Computer/PC Companion and even Flash Tool cannot detect.". so Any ideas how can i flash it. without have any other rom on sd card? I will be rlly happy if someone can help me, i know i made a big mistake but not doin recovery, first time i not did and all went wrong.
do u have SUS? (Sony Update Service)
try connecting with SUS if SUS don't detect your phone then flashtool will not detect your phone also.
Well it doesnt not see to, In my opinion no porgram will see it if device manager cant see it, but now after some slleep i got and idea. Could it be maybe the problem of to old micro usb cable. because my got broken. and i have to use from my sister that has samsung wave.
Good Luck.
LED should be blue not violet for fastboot.
Make sure the phone is shut down first, press volume up + power for 10-15 seconds untill you feel 3 vibrations.
Well whatever coulour it is violet or blue. I press the volume up connect the phone to usb. And i got this coulur for 2-3 second and then it goes to charging mode. it happens every time. Same happens to flashboot. Green for 2-3 sec and the it goes to charging mode.

It's not "whatever" if it's violet it means it's waiting for vol- to enter CWM and not entering fastboot.
Make sure the phone is turned off as I explained.
Phone is turned of, I allways wait for those 3 vibrations before i begin the process. And here to enter the cwm is blue, and for fastboot i have violet. If i had a camera i would record it to prove it.

Hi all,
by cons for several weeks I've a concern with my redmi Note 2 and I can't find the answer to my problem on the forum or even the Internet.
Since the last update 7.2.2 (global) I have the Recovery MIUI who crushed the TWRP. I changed to test 6.3.17. The update to the .24 went wrong and I don't know why. Since the phone is bootloop. But the problem is that my phone is not recognized by any PC. I tried several PCs, several cables, several drivers, with or without the Fastboot, unable to connect. Therefore impossible to load a new version. I don't think it's material problem because the phone recharge well with a cable to the socket.
Is there another handling or debug decision to restart the phone? I'm in France for information.
thank you in advance if you can point me to a solution !
Hope someone can help me.
Manu
Can the phone boot to miui recovery? If so, you should be able to use miui recovery to flash TWRP (I think you will need one with a signed install zip). You only need to take out the external SD, put it in one of those cheap USB card readers, copy your recovery and ROM to the SD, put it back in the phone, flash TWRP with miui recovery, and then flash the ROM with TWRP (I am assuming that miui recovery can install things from the external SD - if not, then none of this will work).
Hi Bro,
Yes it boot in MIUI recovery but impossible to get access to the SD Card...
I tried to put the file on the SD card but you can't choose the path, I think the recovery will look only in the internal memory ... And as I can't access the internal memory..
I despair !!
Thanks o lot for your help

Well, then it is very strange that you can't use the SP Flash Tool. If the phone vibrates, then the device is recognised, and you should be able to flash anything you want with the SP Flash Tool! How exactly were you trying to use the Flash Tool?
I tried so many solutions I really don't know exactly how I used the software.
I will again try everything.
But against any changes when I look in the USB settings of the PC, the phone doesn't appear.
I try again just now, thank you for your help.

With the SP Flash Tool, all you need is the correct "scatter" file (MT6795_Android_scatter.txt), and the image(s) that you want to flash. If the phone is vibrating, then the SP Flash Tool should be able to connect to it when you click "Download". Just make sure that you first untick everything that you do NOT want to flash. I would try flashing the boot image (boot.img) first. If that succeeds, then try the TWRP recovery image.
Ok. I'm going to try again with "http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=196175&highlight=sp%2Btool%2Bflash%2Bredmi%2Bnote%2B2"

Strange! I am assuming that when you connect the phone with the USB cable, the battery has been removed from the phone? If so, then it should work.
Perhaps you should try first connecting the phone, and then waiting until it has vibrated once or twice, before clicking the "Download" button?
Yes I removed battery before connect the phone to PC. I tried also with battery and nothing changed.
I even changed the cable to be sure.
Which seems to me most strange is that I see nothing in the device manager, as if the phone wasn't connected. Whatever the installed driver is the same result. I think it should at least have the phone on the COM or USB port ...
I will try again this night to be sure with all steps one by one. And I will also try with ACER tablet I and runs Android 5.1. Maybe it will be recognized.
Otherwise I also tried to pass a Linux PC as a last resort.
Thanks again for your help.

Yes, it should. The fact that the phone vibrates when connected indicates that the PC and phone are communicating - but it may well be that a low-level driver in the phone has been overwritten (which may mean that this is a lost cause). A final idea - can miui recovery access usbotg?
Hum good question. In fact I don't know. I'll ask the MIUI forum.
I got home late from work so I don't do tests tonight, I'd see it all tomorrow including the connection with my tablet ...
Thanks

Hi,
I tried to connect with an Acer Tablet with Android 5.1.1 but nothing appends...
I tried also with a Linux PC (Debian) and if I can see a Samsung A3 phone dirrectly, no way for my Redmi Note 2...
There really I despair : I think I can't access any of the phone. Can't do anything !
If you have any other solution but you help me a lot already, and thanks for that.
Can be a micro crack on the USB plug into the phone if it's not a software problem ... Let's go for it apart and look at this ...
Thanks again bro.

I don't think it is a crack on the USB plug. It seems to me to be a low-level driver problem - ie, the drivers on the phone that are active when the phone is not (fully) booted up. I don't have the right terminology for these drivers, but they are possibly part of the bootloader. If that is the problem, then I don't know how you would solve this problem.
