[Q] Unable to unlock SGH i777 with correct code - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

I have an SGH i777 Samsung S2 from AT&T and I have the unlock codes directly from them.
CASE: CM20150320_101115272
MOBILE: 6613804001
IMEI: 358055040069439
UNLOCK CODE: 79073737
We have reviewed your request and confirmed that the device may be unlocked.
Please allow 24 hours upon receipt of this notification to complete the unlock process.
To unlock your device, simply:
1. Power off the device, remove the battery, and insert a non-AT&T SIM card.
2. Re-insert the battery and power on the device with non-AT&T SIM.
3. The device displays” Enter the device unlock code.”
4. Enter the eight-digit unlock code once.
5. Press OK.
When I have tried to enter the Network unlock code it replies to me that it is unsuccessful. I have spoken to AT&T and to Samsung directly and neither are able to provide me with solutions. The phone has been working perfectly for the last 2 years and it only gave me this problem when I upgraded to a newer version and since then I can't use the phone application at all. It wiped all of the data on the phone but I can now access the other apps other than the phone. It should be noted that the SIM card is not from AT&T but from an international provider. I have also done a reset of the phone to the factory settings and that also didn't help.
I have also attached screenshots of the Kernel and phone version.
Does anyone have any solutions that they can offer with this?

Hi,
It looks like Carrier Lock .. AT&T is Carrier Locked Device hence when you enterted SIM of other Provider this issue may have popped . Please standby when we move your Thread to AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good Luck!

@Avinoam1, your question was already answered by @creepyncrawly in the thread you started, please go there.
Thank you for helping, @jackeagle.

I777UCLD4 is not an official release. It was a pre-release leak before the official I777UCLE5 version of 4.0.3 ICS. I would recommend that you install an official firmware, preferably the latest version available which is I777UCMD8, which is 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. You can download the firmware from the Download Repository. If you need additional assistance installing the latest stock firmware, just ask.
I'm not sure if the operating system version has anything to do with your inability to use the official unlock code, but you should be able to unlock the phone with the free version of GalaxSimUnlock which, as Steve said, I posted a link to before.

[Q] Unlock after flashing CM7

(I've posted this in the CM7 thread, although I'm not sure it's specific to that ROM so I shall ask here too)
Hello,
I just got a Galaxy Europa today and I have successfully installed ClockworkMod along with this CyanogenMod port, however I am attempting to unlock per the instructions in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...86&postcount=6
I've managed to retrieve the codes from the page however when I place a different SIM in the phone I'm not prompted for an unlock code and I am instead at the home screen with "Emergency calls only" and a fully functional phone (bar cellular usage).
Should I have unlocked the phone before I flashed CM7? If so should I flash back to the original Samsung ROM? According to the product page I received before flashing the phone my model is GT-I5500YKAH3G, which I cannot find an original rom for or can I flash any GT-I5500 ROM?
Thanks,
I found an original Samsung ROM that would work with my handset, however it seems that after inputting the unlock code my IMEI was set to 000000000000000, which is obviously rejected by every network. I poked around for a while and tried all of the fixes that were offered by none seemed to have worked.
Within the UK this device is only available on the Three network and I want to be able to use it on a different network without paying. I pretty much followed the guide exactly and as such could it mean my handset uses a different method for sim locking? If so should I get a refund instead of having it repaired.

[Q] How to Force Sim Unlock Prompt

Hi there,
I rooted my phone. I've installed Cyanogenmod 7 and enjoyed it. However, it is SIM locked. I purchased an unlock code... but now I can't enter it.
This person had the same problem:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1313393
Cyanogenmod does not prompt to unlock even with a foreign SIM card.
The solution was to revert to a stock firmware. Which is great... except for the fact that my phone's model number is:
i5500m.
It's the dreaded Canadian version. I can't find firmware for it anywhere. I've tried Check FUS:
Product Code: GT-I5500YKMVMC
No firmware info retrieved for given data.
Generally it seems like I only have two solutions... and one failure.
The first solution is to find a stock firmware for this phone. Or receive a backup from someone who has the stock firmware with Clockworkmod.
The second solution is to enter the unlock code without the prompt. Is there a way, an app, or a hack to do something like this?
My failure is to accept that there's no reverting. But I don't really want to do that.
Oh, and thank you for welcoming me into your forums. XDA Developers is a really amazing site. I've thanked it plenty of times for saving my ass.
Thanks for your time,
Sacrosaint.
Your answer may be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1149110
Look closely at the latest changelog and notice that point 12 states -
"Network: SIM lock messages will no longer be ignored. This may help people who have problems using SIM cards that require a PIN unlock."
Good luck

Thank you so much! I missed that update by only two days. I'm sure this will help many people.
I'll edit this post with my results once completed.
Thanks again!
Sacrosaint.
---------------------------------
Results:
So I updated the ROM. I did not do a data-wipe. I inserted a foreign SIM card. It says it's connected but I'm not getting any service... I don't believe it's unlocked, as I haven't entered a code yet.
Perhaps I should do a data-wipe and retry. I'll repost afterward.
---------------------------------
Potential Final Update:
Odd! I inserted a Rogers SIM card into my phone running CyanogenMod and although no unlock code appeared... it worked. Also known as: my phone is unlocked.
Some interesting thoughts concerning this:
My phone model is i5500m. It comes locked to Bell or Virgin Mobile in Canada.
Upon trying the bml5 unlock method, my code came up as "01234567." Others experiencing this problem concluded that the phone was hard locked.
However, it would appear that flashing this ROM effectively removed the SIM lock. That means that originally, the SIM lock was a part of the firmware. That is slightly scary. I wish I would have come to this conclusion earlier, however, as I paid a premium of $40 dollars to unlock it (at least I supported a local business.)
So: for i5500m or Canadian Samsung Galaxy 5 users to unlock their phones, they must simply root and flash a custom ROM. Originally mine was from Bell, and it has worked with a Rogers SIM card. I'll possibly update this tomorrow when I try the phone with a Koodo SIM.
Hope this helps someone out there.

Sacrosaint,
I have an unlocked GT-I5503YKAINU running baseband I5500LUYJP2 and ROM CyanogenMod-7.2.0-RC0-galaxy5-v1.9. I inserted a Virgin Mobile Canada SIM card and do not get Service. With a Rogers SIM card, I do get Service. I spoke to people at Virgin and they said it's because my phone doesn't support HSPA+. The reason it works with Rogers is because it supports GSM.
I'm wonder if there's a way to install the baseband firmware from GT-I5500YKMVMC and still use CyanogenMod-7.2.0-RC0-galaxy5-v1.9?

What the representative said was true.
Virgin is both HSPA+ and CDMA. The Galaxy 5 IS a GSM phone. Its radio will not work with other frequencies.
You will want to go with Bell, Rogers, Telus, Fido, or Koodo, the GSM suppliers, my friend.

[Q] SIM network unlock PIN - after flashing ROM

Hello!
I ask for your help, i have an i9100 (international model) rooted phone (unlocked far as I know), and it was happened was I've just flashed Westcrip's Ressurection ROM on my GS2 and now I cannot connect to my network provider which is T-Mobile HU (I'm in the hungary) because whenever I boot up my phone it comes up with a screen that says "SIM network unlock pin" with only a dialogue box for the 'pin' and to either unlock or dismiss.
I tried to flash new kernel (SiyahKernel, Dorimanx, CM10), multiple versions, I tried to google store galaxy unlocked programs, but failed. What should I do?
Thanks in advance for any help!
try the last few numbers of your sim card unless you have changed that. It is the defult code.

hello,
I've read all the same topic, propose a solution, but it did not help.
When I turn on the phone this message: Insert SIM network unlock pin.
I changed kernel, flashing new modem with odin, I tried the program Omnius for Samsung, all the apps from market, Samsung Galaxy unlock code generator v1.4, but none of them helped.
If anyone knows the solution please write or linked here.
Thank you very much.

That is completely irrelevant and is no excuse to create a duplicate topic. You should have simply replied to the topics already on this subject which was created after the leaked new JB sammy rom.
This will work: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spocky.galaxsimunlock&hl=en
Thanks for the comments. Galaxsim apk program helped.

[Q] Can't seem to fully reflash SG Note 2 with stock ROM. Help please!

Hi, and firstly, thanks to any and all who offer their knowledge to assist my conundrum.
I recently purchased a Bell Canada version of the SG Note 2 (i317), I am on Telus so I attempted to Unlock the phone. I looked online and found people were having success unlocking these phones for free using the *#197327640# method, (whereby you go into the service mode, turn off the PERSHO_256 and then INITIALLIZ).
I tried this method and the phone then seemed to work with my telus sim, but only for voice, not data. When I put in a Bell SIM from a friend, both voice and data worked fine - which tells me its not a hardware (radio) issue. I also tried using another friends Telus SIM and had the same results as mine - which tells me it's not a SIM error. Also, all the settings in the mobile network area appeared to be correctly set up.
So, my next step was to try and reflash the phone to the stock Bell ROM and then just buy an Unlock code. I downloaded the stock ROM (2 different ones actually) and used Odin 3.07 to reload the ROM. I've tried it several times now, with both Bell ROMs and each time it says it's been successful, but the phone remains in the same, partially unlocked state.
It seems as though by using the PERSHO_256 method I have permanently, PARTIALLY unlocked the phone. I can't seem to re-lock it by installing the stock Bell ROM, and since it's unlocked, I can't get the foreign SIM error to come up to enable me to put in my purchased unlock code.
If anyone has any insights, it would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

You should ask questions about a specific device in its own Q&A. (unless it doesn't have one). Cuz people there have the same phone and will know exactly what to do.
LIFE! IT'S WHAT YOU MAKE OUT OF IT!
Will do, thanks for the tip!

Very Specific Question about GT - i9300 (S3). Expert advice please.

Hi all,
I have a UK GT - i 9300 locked to Orange and i have just been signed up to EE.
EE claim the phone is already unlocked.....it isn't. They failed to provide a SIM unlock code, so i went to a third party (computer shop) to get the code. They provided an unlock code, and an unfreeze code. They don't work. It just says "registration code unsuccessful" or something similar when i try to put it in upon booting up the device. The guy at the shop is now at a loose end and is happy to refund the unlock code fee, but says he cannot unlock the phone.
I have tried the codes that start with #1972.... to enter the hidden menus, i actually had to enter #0011# i think....regardless, that didn't work as under network options (or whatever it was called) i have no option to tell the phone to allow other sims.
I mention all of this because please believe me when i tell you there is not a simple solution to unlocking this phone....i have read pages and pages of forum advice and nothing works.
My very specific question is; can i root this network locked GT i9300 (UK version) which is currently running on 4.3....or not? It is the only possible solution i can see to save this phone from becoming a paperweight.
I can promise you that hours upon hours of research has not got me a sensible, definitive answer to this question.
Thanks guys. Much appreciated.
Paul
It doesn't matter if the phone is SIM-unlocked or not when you root it. If i can find a stock ROM for the i9300, or if it is 4.1.1 or 4.1.2 with the old bootloader, it is unlockable for free. http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help-i9305/guide-sim-unlock-i9305-t3267901 this is the thread, tell me if you want me to find a stock ROM and i will try to make it zip-flashable.

Thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately after nobody responded yesterday i decided to flash the phone back to an Orange UK version of 4.0.4 and see if the Galaxsim unlock program worked from there. It has now given my phone the generic IMEI number 004999010640000 and Galasim is just saying "UNABLE TO READ NV DATA"
I've tried the method of changing the nv data bin files, and it doesn't work.
I have no backup of my original efs folder.
The bottom line here is that i have been going round in circles with this pile of sh1t service from Orange and EE, and codes that don't work for over a month now. I mean no offence by asking this bluntly, but can someone just give me a simple yes or no answer as to whether i need to buy a new phone or not?
It seems everyone has a theory on how to unlock this phone, and none of those theories actually work.
Currently phone is sat on
Android version - 4.0.4,
Product code - GT-I9300RWDORA
Original Product Code - ORA
IMEI NUMBER - 004999010640000/01
Sim Operator - EE(23433)
Registered Operator - @[email protected]
OS version - 4.0.4 (15)
Baseband - i9300BVLE4
Bootloader - I9300XXUGNB5
Patform - exynos4
LOCKED TO ORANGE.
Some simple instructions on how to fix this, or an honest answer as to if it is even possible would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks
