Was just curious to know, is anyone out there rocking their Note 2 in its birthday suit? If so, any scratches yet? I myself have had a screen protector on since day 1 of owning mine whereas my friends that also have it are all naked. Just curious to know if anyone has any serious scratches of their own.

Naked.
I keep mine from things that have a high mohs rating and I stay scratch free.
Naked white with no problems. I think it's the best way to experience the phone.

I agree 100%
Another area of concern was the use of the S Pen on the screen. If that would over the course of its life span leave any surface scratches as well.

I have had a screen protector from day one but I went weeks without a case. Just put the Samsung protective cover on and it is surprisingly thin and light.

I had mine naked for a few months and did see a few tiny scratches appear so covered up. First with a Copter screen protector which sucked!! It made the screen look like ****e. Small text was impossible to read and the S-Pen marked it. I later opted for a very cheap harder plastic no-name protector which is excellent. I have plans to buy a 10 pack and change every other month or so.
The way I see it you preserve the second-hand value if the screen is scratch free. If in two years time you want to sell it for a good price you just need to invest in a new flip-cover remove the screen protector and it's almost like new.
100% all natural. No screen protector. No case. I like the feel and look without bulky protection. I allow the Gorilla Glass 2 to do its thing.
Afterall, its a phone; its going to get used, scratched and dinged. I want to enjoy the complete phone experience in the meanwhile.
Have you seen those cars that had the bra on the front? People removed them only to find out that their paint was now two-toned, and dirt and debris had etched the paint along the edge of the bra, not to mention having a red sports car with a black mask on.
I was naked on every smart phone I've had up until the Note 2. I've always gotten scratches on every other phone no matter how careful I was.
I also have a small hard case on it. I would love to run naked on that too but the smooth back is just begging to slip out of my hand. Plus the case makes it feel more solid and reduces the creeks and growns coming from the crappy plastic Samsung insists on using.

I would be concerned if a plastic pen scratched glass.
In other words, it won't.
The glass with the oleophobic coating is at least 9 mohs.
Without the coating, its still 6.5-ish.
Plastic is around 3 or 4.
No screen protector here, I adsolutely hate screen protectors. I think they ruin the clarity of the screen. But I do have one of those folio style cases so the screen still gets covered when its not in use.

I've been using the Seidio active case and like it, no screen protector. Just ordered a flygrip and will probably rock it naked with that.
Like others have said I won't use a screen protector as I trust the screen plus hate the feel and affect on clarity.
I'm using a cheap tpu case partly for peace of mind of a little protection and partly because it has a built in kickstand that isn't very intrusive and has been pretty handy to have.
I have mine naked, but the first few days of owning it the phone fell upside down on the wooden floor so now I have 2-3 large scratches on the screen from grains of sand
Same set up I run on every phone I've owned:
Verizon slim hard kickstand case, no belt clip
Cheap eBay matte screen protector
I keep my phone in my pocket so I need a slim case. Every since the T-Bolt, a kickstand is a must for me. I absolutely hate clear screen protectors since it always feels like I'm dragging my finger across the screen rather than sliding it. I ended up buying the $12 pack at Big Red since my phone arrived before my China protectors. The cheap matte ones look great, don't smudge, and make the screen silky smooth.

Screen protector I got from Verizon and an all white Androidified case from Cruzerlite. My hands are a little dry so carrying the phone naked (the phone) is slippery in my hands. The case gives me a nice grip to hold on to the phone.

Oops, sorry for the sideways photo.
My typical progression is: get a new phone. Think "I need to protect this thing" and get a case. Rock case for a week or 2 and then hate the extra bulk. Take off case and love the natural feel of the phone.
I followed suit with this phone. Had the flip case ordered before the phone was out. Got the phone and immediately popped the case on. Rocked it for 2 weeks and took it off.
However, I have actually put the case back on because I found usefulness besides the protection. With the phone's size, the case flap provides more area to maneuver it. It also prevents accidental home button presses when the phone is in my pocket.

I just posted my review of the case on the Amazon product page. http://www.amazon.com/review/R25Y9W...etail-glance&nodeID=2335752011&store=wireless
Good start for the case but has issues.
Thanks

Interesting review. I have the other review on Amazon. I love the case. I think the lip around the screen is more than sufficient personally. I don't see your point around the camera though.
The other case I am looking at is the trident cyclops.
Sent from my SM-N900V using xda app-developers app
This was a first impression of the case. I've had many cases, including simple TPU cases and all of them have a bigger lip around the front. Thickness as well as depth. This just does not feel as sturdy to me. I of course don't want to test if the case will hold the phone at a drop ?
Same goes for the back side. I feel that protection it offers is a bit too thin. If you end up putting a phone down on a not very clean surface there is a bigger chance of whatever is on the surface to touch the camera glass.
I'll keep wearing though for now. To see how it really is during daily usage. With exception of these two points I like the case. But those are important points when it comes to protecting $800 device

Just a heads up that the Seidio OBEX cases will supposedly be available before the end of March.
http://www.seidioonline.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=CSWSSGT3-BR
For 80 bucks I'm expecting a lot.
A WHOLE LOT.
On my list!!
The Note 3 does everything I could ask for, but Sammi dropped the ball by not making it at the least, water resistant. The S4 Active showed that they could have, and the new S5 is rumored to come standard with IP67 (3' for 30 minutes)
I won't likely upgrade to the Note 4 - I can't see it having anything that spectacular over the 3, so a good protective case that adds true water/dust protection would be perfect.
My only concern with the OBEX is the clear screen protection material they choose to use - most plastic screen protectors are poor at best, and get progressively worse over a very short period of time . . .
Cheers'
Dan
Never used an Obex case but a big fan of Seido. How does the obex cases compare to the Otter box defender as far as bulk? I know the obex is an all weather case.

I had both for my S3. I'd say they both add a considerable amount of bulk but it looks as if Seidio cut back a little for the Note's model based on the pictures, but of course I could be wrong. I think Seidio was a little more bulkier than the Otterbox, though. I feel its justified due to the simple fact that the Otterbox merely covers ports while Seidio has to ensure they're weather proof as well. In any case, I'm constantly refreshing the Seidio page daily waiting for the release. Must be getting close because they added 6 more pictures about 2 days ago.
I will say with the Seidio case I had more complaints about people being able to hear me clearly on the phone and it muffled the sound a bit on the ear piece, too so I resorted to bluetooth for calls. It seems that the longer my S3 was in the Seidio case, the farther away if got from the screen (mere milometers, I'm sure) but it did effect the responsiveness of the touchscreen. When you first put it in it was pretty responsive but still not as good as a stock screen. I'd love for them to release a model similar to the nude Lifeproof case for the S3... which I saw today they are now selling at Walmart.
one of the ugliest, if not the ugliest $80 case ive ever seen.
I actually really like the look of this case. A little pricey, but it has my interest.

I wouldn't say it's ugly, just horribly priced.
The OBEX for the iPhone 5 was terrible (audio and earpiece issues and the flimsy port covers was a total letdown). I'd stay away from the OBEX line and hope Otterbox creates one for the Note 3.

If the cheap Chinese cases can have gorilla glass, why not this case? Seriously the plastic screen cover with 4H rating will get scratched to bits, for $80 I expected better materials.....
Definitely want one but the price is an absolute killer.
Is there any chance of the price going down? Maybe after it starts selling on Amazon? I would get it if it's in the $50~$60 range, but $80 is an overkill.

Because it would heavily interfere with the S-Pen. And those Chinese cases have tempered glass or just glass. Corning really only deals with the Big guys where they will make the most money.

The Chinese case had tempered glass by corning, and all touch and pen functions worked as they should, just needed to turn on high touch sensitivity.....
Even non corning tempered glass would be better than the soft plastic they are using here, 4H scratch resistant? Very poor, and for $80? No thanks!
High touch sensitivity drains battery faster. Shouldn't have to turn it on. Also, you are purchasing a waterproof case, not a crappy plastic screen protector. A whole case and holster clip if I am not mistaken.
If it lives up to its quality and name, 80 is well worth it.
Also, if you Crack a glass screen protector on a waterproof case... Guess what happens... It's no longer water proof.

Haven't noticed a significant drop in battery power with high sensitivity on, and decent glass protectors will have layers embedded within them, so it's not inconceivable that it would be able to hold its waterproofing if broken, plastic punctures easily too....
They could have used something better than 4H plastic is all I'm saying, especially at the price point they want. I wish lifeproof made a case for the note 3, I'm sure one of their designs left the screen bare but was still waterproof!
Just wanted to make a poll for case and what kind or no case at all. Do you want to eXPERIAnce it in all its glory or are you going to protect it with a tank-like shell or something in between. If possible, post your case/the one you're going to get here.
Currently I use a thin gel case and a polycarbonate back cover from Terrapin that I switch between depending on what I feel like carrying outside. But when I'm at home I use the phone naked, the feel of it without a case is simply fantastic. However I do use tempered glass on the front and some generic plastic on the back
Naked. The phone is too beautiful to hide.
Nillikin Tempered Glass on the front and normal plastic screen protector on the back.
That and some good phone insurance is enough for me
Naked as well

I'm personally going naked but I'm buying a case for when I travel. I trust myself not to drop my phone since I'll have a lanyard but when I travel, there's no guarantee that something might happen so I'm getting a case for times like that.
I have purchased a Casemate barely there case and a Nillkin tempered glass screen protector. Delivery is this afternoon and I'll chuck them on this evening.
The phone is beautiful but it's a slippery bugger. I've never used a screen protector on any of my other phones but I'd like to keep this pristine for as long as I can despite a case taken some of its premium feel away.
I prefer naked myself when using a premium quality phone. I don't really see the point of putting plastic to cover up a phone like this.
I think the best of both worlds is to buy a leather pouch type case to put it in when your not using it and take it out when you are.
Had the same idea as many; naked all the way, until I dropped it.
Now it's gel case, chipped corners and a whole lot of crying in the fetal position.
I have the official SCR10 and it is so beautiful. It's like looking at a hot girl, way hotter when they wear bikini/underwear.
Naked with front and back screen protector.

Is it the Clear or the Black case?.
I have the Black personally and find it okay. Better than it naked but I'd much prefer no case in an ideal world.
It is the white one. I wanted the white phone but EE only had the black and I thought that the white case would make up for it. Sadly it doesn't!
It is a nice case with a snug fit, but very slippery. My daughter even advised me to remove the case before I went to the pub as it was too slippery!.
I've ordered a 'rubberised' one from Amazon that should be here soon - I'lll report back when I've tried it
Nuddddde
It's either go with a TPU transparent back cover or use a leather sleeve pouch cover to enjoy a little bit of freedom. If you're not using at all you will really regret it if something happens to it!!!
I use a nillkin tempered glass with the Aixuan ultrathin case from ebay. Has the magnetic port open and fits in the sony charging dock.
I ordered the white, changed it last minute from the black.
Let's hope there is no staining issues.

I have tried a cheap case on ebay that was alright, then i bought the spigen case (I forgot which one, but it has two parts, a bezel and the actually base) and it was horrible. So i am looking a for a good case that looks good and feels good. I also have a screen protector if that helps, i want one easy to pull out when i need to change the battery, and one with a big enough port cut out for 3rd party cables because the spigen one couldn't find any of my cables or headphones.
look no further my Friend . What I did BEFORE buying note was , I bought TemperedGlass screen protector ( I don't have link ) then I bought Skin/Case

When I received everything then I ordered note .
The first one case/skin is THE BEST . It ads virtually no bulk to the phone whatsoever , buttons are protected , all openings are there , and it keeps no fingerprints at all . The portition around glass is little raised so if you put the phone glass down it's fine .
Pouch has very soft lining inside , it's build tough and my note fits in it with the skin/case on .
good luck
Trust me, putting a case on won't help much. You should feel the phone. It's not slippery at all, very compact. You just need a temper glass protection on the display, that's all.
Spigen

Indeed. Had my Spigen Neo Hybrid for 2.5 years until now. It once saved my phone. I've put by accident the load of 1.5 tons on the phone with the case. Had tempered glass on it an this was the only thing that cracked. My note 3 is as good as new after series of really deep drops and lots of brutal treatment that happens during work. The neo hybrid is extremely tough though it's not turning the phone into a brick.
