Dear all, Hello,
I did a backup once and have a LINE CHAT BACKUP ZIP file, (not the txt one)
However, I was cheated by a friend and now He blocked me, I cannot restore the ZIP backup by the normal procedure.
I tried to open the chat file inside the ZIP file by SQLite Manager
however a pop-up message showing that the file is encrypted.
Is there any way I can retrieve the chat history?
Please help. Million Thanks!

I had a photo of my friend and i kept it as his contact image.Now that photo was accidentally deleted and i don't have it any more.But that image is still visible in the contacts.Is there a way to bring that image back form the contact data?
Using root explorer or any file manager
Go root>data>data> com.android.providers.contacts>database>contacts.db(copy this file to sd card)
In this contacts.db file all information about your contacts is stored
Now how to extract image from this database file i don't know
You can see all your contact names and number using sqlite but no idea about image

Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Try This:
1. WhatsApp stores a backup of all conversations in the SD Card. It can be accessed by doing the following:
1. Install a File Manager such as Astro File Manager, on BlueStacks
2. Navigate to sdcard/WhatsApp/Databases/
3. The message history backups are stored here. Click down on the file msgstore.db.crypt,
select Copy from the options that come up. Navigate to
/sdcard/bstfolder/bstSharedFolder/ and paste the file.
4. This file can now be accessed on the PC by navigating to
C:/ProgramData/BlueStacks/UserData/SharedFolder.
2. Now the messages can be accessed by decrypting the databases (this link tells you how)
I Don't Know That Whether It'll Work Or Not. [Do At Your Own Risk. ]
This worked for me
1. Explore your phone files on your PC, search for whatsapp messages in something like this: phone/whatsapp/databases
2. Upload the last created message database you found to your Dropbox or Drive account
3. Install file manager HD in bluestack (This App allows you to copy/delete files from SD and cloud servers/dropbox)
4. Make sure to uninstall whatsapp from bluestack before you do next step
5. In the file manager HD identify the database you upload in dropbox
6. Install whatsapp, before they ask your phone number do the next step
7. In file manager hd move the message file from dropbox to SDcard/whatsapp/databases
8. Put phone in whatsapp and it will ask you to recover messages, accept, and it should work
while updating the bluestacks whatsapp, i changed my profile name and now no old history is available... how to get my old chat history, Please help.
better idea is install file manager make a zip file of watsapp folder and paste it to /sdcard/bstfolder/bstSharedFolder/
find that zip file on your pc from C:/ProgramData/BlueStacks/UserData/SharedFolder and paste it in your phone and extract it to your internal directory and done
i accidentally removed my whatsapp data from the phone and due to that while backing up into the drive all my files are lost ......but to my luck i was having some database files with me ...i wish to restore those database files ;....plz help me with this problem.....
database names that i have:
msgstore.db.crypt12;
msgstore-2017-05-27.1.db.crypt12;
msgstore-2017-06-02.1.db.crypt12;
Questions should be posted in this section: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/help
- Install Whatsapp
- Create folder named "Whatsapp" in internal storage and create a folder named "Databases" in Whatsapp folder
- Put msgstore.db.crypt12; msgstore-2017-05-27.1.db.crypt12; msgstore-2017-06-02.1.db.crypt12; insde the Database folder
- Open Whatsapp, register and then restore the backup when prompted
Hi I desperately need help... My WhatsApp unfortunately kept crashing until it deleted the msgstore.db which meant it deleted all my messages and media?.. I didn't have any crpyt12 backup files except the msgstore.db but it says corrupted?. I have used sqlite3 ( sqlite3 msgstore.db ".recover") command which I guess dumped some of the corrupted files from the database. I tried to use whatsapp viewer on PC and it shows my messages but when I restore the same database file in (/data/data/whatsapp/databases ) and open the app it just crashes or starts saying initializing and removes the database I added..
The recovered database from dumping the corrupt file and recompiling is Readable on WhatsApp viewer (for PC) and shows my Messages but whatsapp Application won't read the msgstore.db and keeps crashing if I put the recovered file in the /data/data/whatsapp/database folder (I tried permissions 660, 771, rw-rw--, rwxrw-)
I really need help in how I can recover these messages and put them back on the whatsapp App. Any help please I've been searching for 5days with sleepless nights but no one responds. I'm gladly able to try any way you think possible to recover my files??
Hi XDA,
coming to point, i used GBWhatsapp since 2015 now i want to move official whatsapp because they banned my account for 2 hours for using Modded app. I take backup in GB and install Official app, put all data in com.whatsapp folder as mentioned in another thread. Also changed all folder name from GBWhatsApp to WhatsApp.
Now after activating my account on WhatsApp, all chats are restored. but when i try to open an media file in whatsapp like Image or video it's shows "Sorry, this media file doesn't exist on your internal storage" but all media files present in folder.
for more understanding, i attached screenshots, Please help me how to show media files in whatsapp chat.
also let me know if i post this thing on wrong place as i don't have much knowledge about posting on XDA.
rename Whatsapp images file to GBwhatsapp Images, do same for other files
