Status 7 error usually means outdated recovery try another recovery like Twrp or a newer version.

Strange Also I take it that you mean you have tried to alter the updater script when you modified the roms?
I would suggest to flash back to stock with Odin and start again and see if that helps sorry I can't be of much more help.

ive tried that for lots of times , so now im using this cm10.2 its working fine but i want to try a custom rom
anyway thanks for help mate
The recovery version must be the culprit. Why dont you install twrp from playstore? There's an app called TWTP manager. After installing twrp dont let the app reboot for you. Reboot it first then reboot into recovery the second time. Then try to install another rom

Guys I am using a Samsung galaxy s2 gt i9100 running jelly bean 4.1.2 stock xwlst firmware and i rooted my phone using the one click root using exploits. I am all new to this rooting process and so i installed titanium backup and i was trying to remove playstore inorder to install modded play store and all of a sudden my device rebooted and now its stuck with the boot screen. So i tried to flash canogenmod 10.2 for the first time and used clock work mod recovery. I wiped my memory cleared the cache(couldnt find dalvik cache and the advanced menu either) and applied the latest cyanogen mod 20130827 from the cyanogenmod.org using my external sdcard. It displayed assert failed )==gti9100t status 7 error. I can assure you that i downloaded the international version of the cyanogenmod and not any other variant. Kindly help me with a solution or a link to the correct cyanogenmod rom package. Thank you. Looking forward to an earlier response sorry if i had posted in a wrong section. i am new to the forum

so it doesnt matter what type of kernel we are using??
and now i tried flashing a paranoid rom and it is returning E:signature verification failed. please help me with something. Thank you
the kernel will flash with new ROM so the old kernel isn't important, it's delete in flash process.
I've the same problem whit cwmr6, but using cwmr 5.5 it seems resolved.

Hii!!
I hope I am not making an error by posting here, I am a little new to here so be king please
I just want to install Philz CMW6 on my I9100G so I can install a kitkat custom ROM; I have been facing problems with this, I tried many ROMs ( CM11 unofficial, SuperNexus, SlimRom, OmniROM .. ) but I failed everytime, I realized that my CWM was not suitable. So I started looking for it I found a good thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2201860 after installing the CWM it goes right installing ROMs but got stuck into bootloop.
So, if someone can give me the .tar.md5 file I can flash using Odin or maybe another thing to take care of.
Thank you
PS: I had CM 10.2
Running official stock ROM : JB 4.1.2

Try this steps:
1. Use the method in this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2365701) to flash JB stock + root. note that it's better to flash the kernel via recovery after it's on your external sd-card or sideload with adb. This way you don't get the triangle warning and no binary count.
2. Download the kitkat compatible CWM from here: (http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/GalaxyS2/recovery/CWM-KitKatCompatible-i9100.zip)
3. Flash the CWM and reboot to recovery (advanced -> reboot recovery)
4. Flash your Kitkat rom (with all the necessary wipes of course )

I tried this but I got stuck on boot again, and knowing that the CWM that you gived don't work :/ ( my model is I9100G I think that this is the reason ).
I have read somewhere that maybe the wipe data / factory reset is the source of problem. I am not sure where I am doing wrong
thanks

Hello guys,
my name is Raphnika and I am complete new to this.
I've tried to flash my Samsung S3 with a custom ROM like the Pacman one.(KK 4.4 or something like that).
I was not able to install it on my device so I tried the Android Revolution HD ROM and that worked for me fine.
It seems like I am not able to flash any KK ROMs to my S3. I keep getting a Status 7 Error...
I googled it and tried many solutions but none of them worked. It might be to the fact that I am a complete noob to this.
I hope you guys can help me!
lots of greetings,
Raph

Well.. I have a problem that is: When I try to get the CM11 with CWM i got Error (Status 7) but managed to fix it by deleting the very first line in the updater-script.
Now I start to get Error (Status 6) and I don't know why.
I have the lastest Recovery and Im trying to flash the lastest SNAPSHOT edition of CM11.
Thanks in advance.

Status 7 is normally caused by the updater script and can be solved by using latest cwm recovery or try Twrp or PhilZ recovery.

Okay, thanks. I thought about using TWRP, but PhilZ Recovery.. I'll try it.
Just fixed my phone because I bricked it again and I literally have no idea how. (Most probably one of the common S3 bugs)
And about the CWM version, I had the lastest one but as I said above, I'll try the other 2.
Nevermind, it gives me the Status 7 on PhilZ too..

OK lol just checking give twrp a try and also look at this >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302599 <<
"Noob friendly ways.." That gave me a good chuckle..
Well, Ill try TWRP tomorrow. Ill let you know if it worked. Anyway, Ive done the deletion of "assert();",didnt work, im sure its the right version and its even the Snapshot edition so even less chances its from them.
No better.. Ive checked and I have the codename for it as "m0", I had the lastest versions of these Recoveries and the right versions for CM11 and Hypermax, still no clue why it doesnt work..
Ill reinstall my PC and Ill try the Windows Installer for CM11 maybe it'll work, too bad its a hassle to try that installer on XP (since Im using a pretty old laptop with XP and Linux atm)
Ill let u know about everything releated to this since there might be others with the same problem.
This was the second time I tried flashing a ROM but I get to learn things fast since Im very experienced with IT releated stuff
tnx for info

Well, Error 7 is basicly to protect you from flshing the wrong software (for ex. for wrong phone model), have you tried different cm based ROMs (cyanogen mod 14 by modpunk) if you cant install them either it's something wrong with your recovery. If you haven't try it yet, you may flash it again by odin.

I meant to flash twrp in odin again, if this won't help you might try flashing official firmware and then custom recovery again.
