root dell venue 8 3480 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Did anybody had any luck with this tablet please?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/dell-venue/development/guide-how-to-root-android-4-4-4-dell-t2918427
I manage to follow this guide up to the point where it says to flash the rooted rom
Rooted Android 4.4.4 boot.img
but when I do that the tablet does not boot
If I flash again the stock boot.img the boot process returns to normal
Maybe the problem is that the rooted img is for 4.4.4 but during this guide Im downgrading to 4.4.2
thanks

Soft Bricked Moto E on downgrade

So i have this brazillian xt1022 with official ota updated lollipop, which i tried to root (sorta long story), it boot looped after a complete discharge on the boot image. After it, i did the downgrade to 4.4.2 and no progress has been done, just the recovery has gone tottaly useless, it now is boot looping quickly on the no command screen . Now i do not have any access to recovery, neither to adb (obviously) and just have the fastboot. I tried flashing again the downgrade rom, but there's that gtp error about trying to downgrade. Tried to flash boot.img too.
Ps: the update command won't work since no roms i found have the android-info.txt.
Any idea about what to do? Or any official rom to send me? it has to be a lollipop rom to the things work?

Trying to downgrade from 6.0.1 to lollipop

I successfully unlocked bootloader and rooted my nexus 9 wifi currently on 6.0.1. I've been trying to flash a custom rom to downgrade the android software to either 5.0.2 or 5.1. I would wipe the cache data etc and flash the ROM and 5.x gaaps. When I reboot I get stuck on the Google screen forever.
What I'm I missing or need to do in order to downgrade?
Thank you for any help in advance!
Bump. ..anyone?
Flash the factory image for the version your trying to downgrade to.
Your bootloader and vendor images probably need to be at the same version as your rom.

Help: Unbrick Dell 7840 that is bootloader locked

Hi Everyone,
So i tried a installing the latest version of Xposed x86 and got my Dell 7840 bricked.
It's running the latest 5.1 OS (Nov 2015 update), but is NOT OEM unlocked ( I can't for the hell of me figure out how it is bootloader locked and rooted! ).
It does not have custom recovery, only stock recovery so i can only do ADB sideload but not update from zip?
I can get to the fastboot menu, but i can't do the tethered recovery as everything failed due to locked bootloader.
i can't unlock the bootloader via fastboot as i can't boot to the OS due to stuck at the Intel inside bootscreen.
When i goto the covery mode. i see "Venue 8 7840-user 5.1 LMY47I BBP803A173600DEL release-keys"
I tried to use the Intel Platform flash tools to flash DD0_BB.xml as per some unbricking guide, but this seems to only work if you are in the OS and not in the fastboot mode.
Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
i managed to get the flash to work and got into tethered CWM and flashed a brand new system, all is well, thanks!

I have the same problem, you were facing, except I cant even get into recovery....
Do you remember how you solved it?
Hey,
download bootloader and firmware (e.g. https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0B0hcxOtcOlhLdTJzbDhiNFhfTEk&export=download) and flash 5.0.1 fastboot.
Then use FBRL to reinstall the system.

TF201 Boot loop with TWRP 2.8+

I don't know if anyone will respond. I successfully unlocked bootloader via tool and flashed TWRP 2.8+
But I think the problem is that I didn't know which JB bootloader I was using and just tried to flash via instructions from KatKiss 5.1.1 v30 because I've been flashing since Nexus one days and thought it would be the same (I'm stupid). Anyway I somehow managed to flash a different ROM but now stuck on a boot loop and obviously can't get access to Asus stock OS. KatshMallow 6.0.1 still loaded on the tablet with gapps but that won't boot up either.
I tried to adb sideload CM12.1 but it failed. Anyone know how I can get any stable ROM up and running with just using TWRP or adb sideload?
Thanks in advance
When it's starts up can you see which bootloader you're on now?

What do you succeed to do following my tutorial ?

Same happened to me, I had to open the phone and short the pins to get it out of boot loop. I did buy the special cable but didn't need to use it in the end.
