Now that I'm using Android and my phone's life has been extended, I wanted to extend its battery life too. Branded extended life batteries are really expensive at retail. Seidio and mugen both sell 3000+mah for something like $80. HTC sells a smaller 2150 for around $40.
According to batteryboss.org, HTC's 2150 battery (rhod170) is pretty much the only battery that meets its mah rating, so I went hunting for a good price on one. Found this one for $5 shipped, or $7.51 for two if you want to better your odds. Figured it was either fake or used or otherwise had issues, but I got mine in the mail and it has zero contact wear and looks the spitting image of the legit rhod170. Seller has 5 left at the time of this posting. You can easily find other batteries advertised as rhod170 for $10 shipped, but it's always anyone's guess if they're legit or not. I had to roll the dice with no idea, and I thought someone else would appreciate hearing that this particular seller shipped 2 rhod170s that very much appear to be legit. Took about 1 week to receive from NY.
You need the extended cover to go with it. The cheapest I could find was from batteries4less, which you can shave another 10% off with save10 coupon code. It does look exactly like the OEM, with both HTC and verizon branding, however my particular one bulges a little in the middle when attached, like it isn't latching as well there. It isn't really noticeable unless you're looking for it, and it could be the fault of one of the drops my phone has taken over the years. Shipped quick, maybe 3 business days.
With both battery and cover, YMMV. I won't know for a couple of days at least what the lifespan is. And I'm still looking for a program that I can use to get accurate, easy-to-compare bench information from. Suggestions on that front are welcome. My original battery 1500 mah battery has been in use nearly 24/7 for almost 2 years. I'm not sure a comparison to that would be helpful to anyone.

How much longer is the battery working?
Since my last battery was in use for almost 2 years, I'm not sure comparison to it is worth anything. Battery life was atrocious. I basically kept it perpetually plugged in with just a few hours a day away from an outlet of some sort. I had cables everywhere to keep it charged. Now I can go 2 days of moderate use without plugging it in. I'm very pleased, especially given the price.
Couple of months ago, i bought the rhod 170 from ebay, using it since than, but to be honestly, the batterylife isnt much longer than the original one.
I think i have bought a FAKE one, this one is RED ( not black like at the picture )

I have no new information. Mine still looks real and it still gives me better battery life than my OEM 1500 ever did, even though XDAndroid isn't as battery friendly as winmo.
If you're considering grabbing one of the same, you're gambling, just a little less than if you got a similarly priced rhod170 from a seller with no positive feedback yet. You can hedge a little more by buying 2 and hoping at least one works to spec. If you want a guarantee, you'll have pay $40ish to a well-known outfit that takes returns.
The cover on the picture you posted looks very thick, thicker than you actually need.

Its a high quality cover, and its smaller than the one you showed. No need to carry a ticker phone if it can be smaller . it fits the 2150 mah battery perfect
Looks the same thickness to me (though black is a slimming color), and there's no spare room in mine. Both are made by HTC, it's just the one you got was designed for the GSM while mine was CDMA.
I have ordered 2 pieces. lets see what it gives me. Do you have any information about how to use it first time ? ( fully charge ) downcharge etc..

I've read varying views on that. Lithium Ion batteries like these don't have memory effect, however, there might still be metering issues (relating your phone's ability to measure how much battery power is actually left). In android, I used a utility that wiped out past information collected on my 1500mah (don't know if there is a winmo analog) and did a full charge and full discharge right off the bat. Since then, I've kept it topped off as there is unanimous agreement that you shouldn't discharge lions often.
That's what I did, but I can't promise it's the best way. I have no inside information, that's just what I've culled from contradictory sources.
Do they also ship to the netherlands?
I couldn't tell ya, but since the particular seller I linked is out of stock of the batteries, I'm not sure it matters.
i like chichitec's slim extended battery, bought 2 of them with a wall chager for $30 a while back, 1900mAh each. One of them lasts me 2 days but I full charge at night out of habit and not wanting to be stuck without phone on 2nd day even though I only reach 60-70% after first day lol
fortunz, i see you have a rhod500, do you know if that battery works with a rhod400 as well?

Mugen batteries are the best. They are the only extended slim batteries I have ever tried that actually live up to the name extended and outperform the stock batt. I have had 4 of their batteries for various devices and this week I just got the first for my Rhod and what a difference! Don't know why I waited so long to get one... I guess the rhod was just supposed to tie me over til WP7 came out... but now it looks like I'm trying to hold out for windows 8 (or 64bit cpu).
At any rate you can try to find a good one on Ebay for $10 and buy 4 different ones in the process, or you can do what I would recommend and spend $35 just buy Mugen.

Hey guys i have Galaxy s2 it is about 5 months OLD (black color 16gb model) (unlocked)
perfect condition
only 1 tiny scratch next to speaker which is barely visible.
1) it is rooted
2) reseted download count with JIG
3) has invisible shield on front only
4) with 16gb memory card
i might either put it on ebay or here on xda i will need to decide
the reason i want to sell is because im switching to verizon... at&t in my area sucks

your best bet is to go on ebay and check how much other people put the price at. and adjust yours roughly somewere in the middle. or google it and normally they give you a whole punch of pages full of results on the price of second hand phones. Not sure how much this would be in US dollars but now second hand phone in England would go from 250 pounds min to about 400 pounds if not more for our s2.

i would start a bit lower and then leave the auction run for say a week. that way more people will get interested and then you will see in the last couple of days that the offers will rise and you probs get the price you want hope i helped out

What would be, in your opinion, a reasonable price for the Gear Fit?
I got mine for 145 today and am wondering if i've payed to much and should send it back.

yeah you could say it's a good deal but in the light of the general bad reviews and the compatibility issues with other devices than samsungs (have a s4 btw) etc. i'm just wondering how low the price will get in the next few weeks. i read many reviews and some said 100 would be a reasonable price and since i payed 145...
are you satisfied with the gear fit and do you think it was worth the price?

I like it more as a smart watch than a fitness band. I don't like the blocky look of the gear 2 so I figured I would get the fit. Is convenient and it looks nice. Functionally wise the fitness is very spotty from my experience and it doesn't sync. I wrote a long review on it which you can read below for my impressions.

Bad reviews?
People got to hate, I love the Gear Fit.
Wish it measured heart rate 24/7, had an always on display, needed to be charged once a week.....
but what ever it is a good step counter, the heart rate monitor seems accurate to me, get my notifications, some new feeds..... It is worth $200 to me.
A normal watch that tells time costs me $100
I'd like to see when I track my Sleep that it would also make some heart rate monitoring. This would allow me to know if I was "upset" with something when I moved.
Ok i played with it a for a while now and i'm bound to say that i like it very much xD
I got the S5 S Health App so I have heart Monitor rating option with diagrams and the step counter is synchronizing perfectly (there is an option to change the monitoring to gear fit). I also installed the S5 Sleep App so that is working fine too. I downloaded some useful additions from the Themes and Apps thread which are also a working without a prob and configured my notifications (i think it's very cool getting live score notifications for sports) Now i laugh about the people which have written in their reviews this and that's not working...they are just too lazy or too stupid to get it done i encountered not a single problem most of the bad reviews mentioned

I'm from Canada and I just ordered my Nexus 9 on Sunday through Amazon.com as it is the cheapest way to do it. My question is, will I be obtaining a November-made Nexus 9 rather than the October-made Nexus 9? I'm only asking as most of you may know, the power and volume buttons may have been slightly "fixed" from minor altercations made in the November-made Nexus 9's. There also may be a bit of less light bleeding in these Nexus's and I don't want to have to return it or have a undesirable experience with this tablet.
I understand I can check once I get it but I won't be getting it anytime soon because I chose the cheapest way to get it delivered
I ordered one from Amazon.com on Friday (11/28) and it was made on Oct 24 (HT4AR). The buttons are better than one I got from Best Buy on 11/03 made 10/ 18 (HT4AJ). Both had the "squishy" back.
Unfortunately, the digitizer was messed up and is being returned. Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-9/help/digitizer-sensitivity-t2959441)
A replacement should arrive on Friday (12/05).

Ah... I praise the all mighty nexus lords that I won't have to deal with extreme light bleeding or recessed power and volume buttons...
If anyone has ordered on the black friday deal, can they let me know if their product is OCT/NOV and how their buttons and lightbleeding (if any) are?
I ordered nine on Friday, got it Monday and it was made November 4th. Bleed problems is terrible, the buttons are recessed, the back pops badly, and it gets extremely hot. I'm definitely going to return it. I have until Jan 15th, so I'm going to push it and then return it then so hopefully I get a later run.

The "code":
1) find your serial number (either on the sticker on the back, sticker on box, or in settings>about tablet>status>serial number).
2) Note the first 5 digits. Also note this super secret magical key:

Where 1-Z corresponds with the numbers 1 through 31. This is how the date is encoded in the s/n.
3) Third digit is the year. It probably is a 4, meaning your tablet was made in 2014.
4) Fourth digit the month. It probably is an A or B, meaning your tablet was made in the 10th or 11th month.
5) Fifth digit is the date. For example, if you have a s/n that says, HT4B7, that means it was made on November 7th 2014. If it says HT4AW, then it was made October 28th, 2014. And so on.

Just got mine this afternoon, ordered Saturday with two day shipping. Got one made in Oct 17th. Pretty bad light bleed in corners and asking left side of screen, but no mushy back. Volume down is tactile but volume up had no click. Also processor gets very hot and tablet charges very slow actually discharges during use with provided brick and cable. 16gb white.

Thanks guys for your input! I decided to go with the white Nexus 9 (32GB) and with the slowest type of shipping due to it not being free for us Canadians (it'll ship within 7-12 days). I hope I don't get anything with huge defects...
If anyone else sees this and got their Nexus 9 through the black friday deals from Amazon.com; I'd like to know how their tablet is! :highfive:
For reference, the newest one I got from Amazon, shipped on Tuesday, 12/02, has the janky power button and doesn't respond to the magnetic cover properly. Sometimes unlock the display results in it relocking instantly (as if it had a magnetic cover on it). Closing the cover on the case doesn't turn the screen off nor does opening it turn it back on. I'll likely request another replacement once the last one reaches Amazon's RMA department. This one was made on 10/21.
