Hello,
I am runnig Android cyanogen 12 on a Samsung Galaxy Ace II.
As Kitkat is not meant to allow SD card acces, (wich was granted to me by changing permissions xml), I am in a position where i have to download loads of files on to my phone, and I have rarely access to my computer.
I am using the stock AOSP Browser and am unable to find anyway to download directly to SD.
I did go through internet but people don't seem to have the answers..
I don't mind messing with system files (fine with flashing zips over and over again ^_^ )
If anyone had an answer or lead, i would gladly accept it

Hey
Yea your phone is rooted otherwise you would have not been able to install a custom ROM.
I'm not going to describe the APPS2SD method just search it on the forum, there is a tutorial somewhere.
If you download a file manager (Astro/Linda) you can add .apk files onto your SD card and install it through that. There is no specific place for .apk files you just have to search about, your best bet is probably using torrent downloads.
That isgenerally a problem with your internet speed/connection so there is very little you can do unless you are willing to upgrade it. I don't think you can improve the phones WIFI status either :/
Hope I helped
As above. Apps2sd requires you to have partitioned before installing modaco 3.0 though. I didn't bother but if you want it, wipe and partition. Easily done with AMON RAs recovery image
Installing apks is simple with a file manager. I use Astro. Put the apk on to your sd card and navigate to it with astro and choose package manager to install, nothing simpler. It's just getting the apks .
Sometimes it can take a while for me to establish a connection with my router. Other than that, see this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=548807&page=2
Well I have come to this. I have been enjoying this thread for some time, and wow, great people all around. I have a Sprint unrooted 16GB SG3. Ever since I discovered the art of modifying my phone it has been non-stop. First problem is that my SG3 is not processing files I download to my phone. I do it all directly on the phone using mostly androzip. No I do not download to my PC and then transfer. That is the next problem. My phones memory is down to 3.5 GB and my SD card is mostly empty. Tried to connect phone to PC and try to transfer files to SD card but for some reason after I installed the necessary programs it does not work. All download through play store and APK's are working fine. I can see the files I download on my phone storage>downloads but when I ask to open it, androzip will open but not process file. I am missing out on so many beautiful UCCW skins, icons and others that I am planning to reset my phone to factory setting if I don't learn how to transfer all this to my SD card.
Thanks in advance to anybody that is willing to help or point me in the right direction.
First of all, I read tons of threads on this problem. I know that the new Android versions changed from Mass Storage to MTP (safety reasons) and that is our main problem (I suspect), along with the small internal memory. First of all, I want to simply put the files from big games on SD, install the APK and simply run them. Is it possible to do that, as in previous versions of Android, or the games must be installed and after that, they will download the files they need? Second problem, is there any way to change back to Mass Storage? Because I've found a script and I've applied it, but after a few seconds of working as a removable drive, the connection changed back to MTP (with the same poor speeds). Thanks in advance and greetings from RO!
Nobody had this problem? )

Hi all,
I am new to android development but I have some issue regarding my China's Tablet (Aigopad M80e).
I have rooted the tablet by searching around internet and after i root, I found that I could not install any application.
I found my Storage become 0.0kb so that i couldn't even able to do anything even I uninstall the existing apps, the storage is still the same.
Some internet guide said about xbin or download root File explorer to delete particular file but I couldn't able to install it at all.
Any way to delete whole ROMs? or any other solution? It's really had me so much.
Appreciate so much.
Thanks.
This is driving me nuts. I'm dealing with the original unrooted SGH I545 build VRUFNK1 from Verizon but for some
weird reason I can't load maps on ext microSD card. First, phone tells me I only have 3.8g memory left so going to download I'm presented with choice to:
- device
- SD card
- running
- all
Apparently this is not where I need to be but I can't change it even when I change the defaults. I installed ES explorer through which I created separate folder but it's nowhere tb seen when I use dialog provided by Nokia Maps (great app because you can use maps offline - no data charges).
EDIT:
Ignore. Found appropriate dialog within Here Nokia. Please delete this post #embarrasing
