OK so I have had Sony Ericsson Xperia play for about a year its been a good phone but about a month ago I started having to press the power button more than once to turn it on. From there it only got worse I started having to press it 6 or 7 times but i knew it wasn't the power button because when it was off fully and i held down the power button it would vibrate as normal but would not boot. Its got the point now that it wont boot at all and the PC wont recognize it. So when it turned on after 27 goes I tried resting it with Sony update service it completed with success and reset my phone but didn't remove the problem so I tried following a guide on how to return it to stock using flash tool once again successfully completed the reset but didn't remove the problem. I've spent hours looking for a fix and found many people with the same problem but they fixed it with a update I hope I don't need to buy a new phone I liked this one any suggestions would be helpful thank.
First time at using these forums.
Hi everyone, Im concerned i might have bricked my phone for good (not good at all). I was using latest Spirit rom when had to change my usb flex since it was not connecting to my pc. After that every time I blocked the screen phone stopped responding. So i decided to go back to stock Rom through Odin.
Now phone boots to the initial screen where Im asked for language and doesnt respond at all. After the flex change usb connection is working again (probably you realized since i used Odin).
What can i try now before reaching the conclusion i have a hardware brick? (if thats possible)
Thanks.
Leo.
UPDATE EDIT.
Phone now has a previous version of stock rom and finally booted. Now i can see that the real problem is that something is making it laggy. The screen does not slide at my touch, rather freezes at its position as soon as I stop touching, and takes really long time block the screen, any thoughts?
...
Some details I will be adding to complement my lack of english vocabulary to explain this issue.
To use any icon at all i have to press twice on it, first attemp pushes the botton down and the second attemp finally activates it. Like if the touch screen is doind weird stuff. I can deduce that the touch screen has everything to do with the laggyness of the phone, maybe power-button has something to do as well.
G'day guys,
Having some issues with my Tablet. I had been using it for basic web\email and had zero issues. I was playing a game (which had been played, on and off, for 3+ months) on the device when it froze.
Pressing 3 software buttons (home, back, switch) did not respond. The Volume rocker didn't adjust volume. Pressing Power didn't turn off screen. So I held down Power for 3 seconds. Nothing. Held it down for 5 seconds. Nothing! ... Held it down for 10 seconds and it switched off.
I left it for 2-3 minutes and then turned the tablet on. Just gets stuck on the Sony animated boot screen. Nothing more!
OS 3.0 upgraded to OS 4.0.3 direct from built-in Sony upgrade. Zero issues for months until now.
Stock ROM. Not rooted.
I was hoping to get the data off the internal storage however if it is not possible... then maybe I just need to move on and start fresh! :\
I have a suspicion there is a corruption with something like /cache or something else really simple.
Would be great if anyone is aware of a simple fix without losing data, or a full-proof way to resolve it by doing anything..... Just need a reliable solution...
HELLLLLP!
THANK YOU!
NOTE: I can bypass the boot animation and access the recovery interface.
Cheers guys!
Following the instructions here a few days ago http://www.howtogeek.com/125375/how...kup-without-rooting-or-unlocking-your-device/ (http://developer.android.com/tools/sdk/tools-notes.html and http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html#win-bundle) I downloaded and installed the bundle as per instructions.
When Sony Tablet S is connected, nothing is displayed. Although, granted, it took a lot of fiddling to get the Samsung to show up (damn USB / Sync / xxx modes for USB connectivity.

Hello Everyone. I have my new Samsung S6 Edge about 3 weeks now. It worked flawlessly the first week and a half but lately I've been getting an intermittent problem with the sensitivity of the touchscreen and it is very annoying. I have to swipe, touch a letter (if texting), or touch an icon, multiple times before it will execute the touch. Sometimes it seems as if it is in slow motion where the execution responds 4 to 5 seconds after the touch. There has not been any new software added and I always close out of any running programs.
I have tried all of the following to which none had any effect:
a) Restarting the phone by using the on/off key dialog box
b) Shutting it down for a couple of minutes and starting it again
c) Using Samsung's method to restart the phone by holding the on/off key and down volume key simultaneously
After a day and a half of frustration I was ready to take it back to my mobile supplier when it all of a sudden starting working properly after checking to see if my phone volume was at the maximum volume by hitting the up volume button. It worked well for about 3 days and then started to do the same thing. So again, I played with the volume down and up buttons until the touchscreen sensitivity worked.
I'm currently having the same issue again which prompted me to post this message. Playing with the up and down volume keys seem to help it at a ratio of about 7 out of 10 times. I've searched the web but haven't found anyone else with the same issues. A look at the Applications Manager under Running apps, System is taking up 1.1 GB, Apps taking up 530 Mb, leaving 0.99 GB of free memory.
Any suggestions? Maybe I should be taking it back for a hardware replacement?
Thanks for listening.
OK, so now I've come to the conclusion that hitting the volume up key was just a fluke although It seemed to help sometimes. S6 touchscreen returned to normal again yesterday afternoon. It just comes and goes which makes it rather difficult to show a mobile technician. I'll have to wait until it malfunctions again before taking it in to a Samsung Repair shop.
Me too....
I have subscribed to this thread, in hopes of finding some clues, because I too, have noticed the same exact behavior that OP described and was searching for a remedy/explanation. Also, had the volume up and seemed to somewhat fix it, but like OP said it is sporadic. I, by accident in trying to clear the cache, completely blew away my phone and had to rebuild my phone as I had before and even after a complete reset, I still have the same behavior.
Hi Chris, I stumbled across another interesting behaviour. While the phone is acting up, if you press and hold the UP Volume key (keeping it depressed) you will be able to scroll and press icons as normal. As soon as you let go of the volume key, the issue continues.
This is a link to a video I uploaded today to You Tube that shows exactly the issue I am having.

Just saw your vid, looks like yours is more pronounced than mine (non-Edge btw) and happens once in a while and then it goes away - I am hoping it isn't progressive. I can't seem to identify what triggers the sluggish behavior. I typically clear all apps from the recent apps as a matter of my normal operation in all my previous smartphones. When I notice it the most is when pulling down the notification center and either nothing happens or I have to pull down the shade all the way down for it to stick, otherwise it slides back up.

Thanks Alex, I tried your suggestion and disabled Briefing, cleared the cache & data, then restarted the phone. It did not fix the problem.

for me it's much better..still think it's also the memory problem..as around a half day all is fine..than the lag starts..
Took the phone to a Samsung Repair Shop today. Turns out the LCD display was malfunctioning. It took them 1.5 hours to repair and replace under warranty. Hopefully I won't have anymore issues with it

thx bro
Yes, I did that same thing, and it did help a LOT.. however after the latest update (I have the Edge+) the issue returned.. did it again, and it "fixed" it, but for how long?
And why is this happening??
Hi!
I recieved my Note 2 today. After unboxing, I turned it on, did the starting settings (google account, wifi, etc). After that the phone went to sleep, and that's where the problems started. From that time the touchscreen and touch buttons didn't work correctly. It's like someone is pressing the buttons continuously and because of that the touchscreen can't work, or at least not in every area of the sreen.
Did a factory reset, didn't work... It's all the same, even during the initial setup.
Videos of the issue:
Forum won't let me post is, but I can send it in a private mail I guess...
Anyone had an issue like this before? Is it a software related bug (there is some beta version miui installed), or is the device defected?
Any help would be appreciated!
Edit:
The phone was turned off for the night. I turned it on this morning and I could open up the lockscreen with swiping up from the touch buttons. After that the phone worked for like 3 minutes, and then stopped working again.
