So i made a mess of this!
I initially followed this to install the SW version of the jiayu S3 stock rom.
http://www.spemall.com/forum/topic/2160-how-to-install-international-rom-for-jiayu-s3-basic-and-jiayu-s3-advanced/
Nothing happened until I started playing around with the drivers. Then I got about 2% into the process and the flashtool crashed.
Now every time I try again I get this:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I can't turn on the phone anymore, it lingers in the Jyaiu screen but it charges and I can get into recovery mode.
Also, like an idiot, I did not make a backup.
I am thinking it has something to do with the drivers as the flashtool is unable to communicate with the phone, but I have no idea how to fix it!
Can someone please help me?
Fixed it! Here is a tutorial!
I installed the international rom for the Jiayu S3.
If you don't have gapps and/or your calendar and gmails apps do not sync. This will fix everyone of those issues.
I came across a lot of problems as windows, for some reason, it does not like the Jiayu drivers so the first time I flashed the device windows switched it off and corrupted the rom install. I was stuck with a phone that would not boot, it was just suck in the Jiayu logo.
FYI my phone would go into recovery mode!
I got it fixed eventually. This is what I did:
Before following the install instructions below:
On the phone go to settings, security:
- enable superuser and unknown sources
- disable verify apps
1. Format computer (you may now have to if you have not yet connected your phone to your pc. If you did, try using a different USB port)
2. Download the drivers from here and unzip onto desktop
http://thebroodle.com/microsoft/windows/how-to-install-mtk65xx-preloader-usb-vcom-drivers-in-windows
3. Connect the switched on phone to the PC (via USB) and windows will install some drivers
4. Once install finishes disconnect phone from pc
5. Turn phone off
6. Open pc device manager
(right click on computer, click on manage. New window will open, on the left side of the window double click on device manager)
7. Turn on flashtool
(follow this tutorial and use their tools: http://www.spemall.com/forum/topic/2160-how-to-install-international-rom-for-jiayu-s3-basic-and-jiayu-s3-advanced/) and press download
8. Go back to device manager window
9. Connect switched off phone to PC via USB
10. Go to device manager and wait for MTK65XX to appear under other devices
(this only shows up for a few seconds so keep a close eye on it) - if you miss it, disconnect the phone from PC and start over!
11. Right click on MTK65XX
12. Select update driver
13. Click on Browse
14. Select USB driver folder (downloaded from the above website)
15. Click ok
16. Windows should have now installed the correct drivers
17. Flashtool will start working straigt away (first the bar at the bottom of the flastool becomes green, then red, then purple then yellow with a % progression)
18. Go for a coffee
19. Wait until you get a big green tick on the screen
Flash complete and phone is working! Sigh of relief and curse windows repeatedly

I just ask, what the fu*k is Your question?
Make a choice, won't Your computer recognize the phone or the phone doesn't recognize the PC.
I think You're asking for the first thing, so on Your place I would check if USB debugging is enabled, if You changed the "Roman".
Also don't forget to check for drivers on Your PC.
And please, explain to me what "Aataraf" is.

Can you give me your backup in the original rom
is hard do discover what he want to say, but if you cannot connect your phone to PC check if your drivers are installed corretly. Install SE PC Compaion or SEUS. if you want to use flashtool make sure you have ADB Drivers installed ( you should have it in "drivers"folder, and run the setup wizard) and USB Debug is turned on on your phone.
The battery empty, but when connect the phone electricity are not shipping
just connect it and wait few minutes. it should boot up but it will take a while. It is possible that LED indicator is not turned on. just wait cca 30 minutes.
Hello,
First I want to thank this forum for providing the information. This forum was a help in the process finding out this fix!
NOTE: I'm not claiming that this methode will fix this problems for everyone but it worked for me so maybe you can give it a try.
Problem/My situation:
I've tried to root a Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 with the CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4, but after the proces my device wasn't rooted so I placed a SuperSu zipfile on my internal storage and flashed twrp-3.0.0-0-klte with odin on the device. I booted in recovery and installed SuperSu. Now my phone was rooted properly said the Root Checker app. But... when booting I'm never asked for a SIM pincode and my IMEI disappeared. After some googling I found out I had to fix the files in the EFS map..
I only backed up through 'Backup and restore' with my samsung account.. so that was quite useless.
What you need:
-Phone must be bootable in recovery and download mode
-PC with Kies and internet connection
******************your data will be lost********************
What I did/Solution:
Boot in recovery, go to 'Wipe' > 'Advanced', I checked ALL boxes and did the wipe.
I turned my device of.
Now what you got to do is pull your battery out and take note of the 'S/N', mine has this format: xx0xx0x0xxx
Now start Kies on your pc and connect your phone. Under 'Tools' you will find: Firmware upgrade and initialization, go there. You will be asked for your model, enter: GT-I9300, after that you must enter the S/N you found on the sticker under your battery.
As you follow the proces you put the phone in download mode (volume down, home and power button) and if you follow the steps mentioned on screen you will eventually get to a screen with 'Software update and initialization completed', it will tell you that the device will reboot and that you have to connect the cable afterwards...
Now, wait till you see the android logo and wait till you get to the

.
In my case it got stuck here, so I pulled out the battery.. And I placed it back in and booted normally.. Everything was okay, it worked!
So that's all, I hope this will help you with this problem!
EDIT:
Now, If you want to root the device:
1. Connect the phone to your PC
2. Download twrp-2.8.6.1-i9300.tar (Make sure it is this version! https://dl.twrp.me/i9300/twrp-2.8.6.1-i9300.tar )
3. Download SuperSu zip (I used 2.65)
4. Place the SuperSU ZIP on the phone's storage
5. Open Odin and load the twrp tar in AP and flash..
6. After rebooting turn your device off and boot in to recovery
7. Go to 'Install' and navigate to the Supersu zip and install..
8. After rebooting you should have a rooted GT-I9300
Hey there,
Thank you for your post.
I unforunately am in the same position as you and the above method I've tried many times, but it doesn't seem to work.
I'm currently playing around with other ways and means, so hopefully i'll be able to figure something out cause I flat out refuse to arrange hardware to fix it or send it to a Samsung Service place. They messed it up using the software updates surely they can fix it too!
I'll let you know how I get on.
Cheers
I've connected my Sony Xperia Z5 Compact ES823 to the computer, but it doesn't detect the device. I've downloaded Xperia_Z5_Compact_driver.zip but no luck.

well to be honest I never used this method to install drivers to my device for couple reasons: ( i do use this method to other devices some times though)
1) there is no need to do this if you are only planning to be able to see the folders and files in your computer (connect in MTP mode) it doesnt require driver -> windows should automatically do it whether its windows 7 or 10. check your wifi or some thing.
2) I use sony PC companion , now they call it "Xperia companion" it installs drivers once you install the EXE file so yah...
try to right click on it and update via windows update (install drivers using windows update option) and if still didnt workout, delete the driver with the warning sign next to it and disconnect your phone and reconnect it again and clean install the drivers.
tell me how does that work out for you
Can you help me with something, i want to put new firmware on phone, what to select or not to select a thing, i want full wipe of everything

as you see there are two colums with 2 windows each
left colum is what to wipe
right colum is what is going to be installed
so when flashing ftf you need to wipe every thing which means the left side options should all be ticked in both windows except master reset I guess but once I tried 2 times to tick it and not to tick it, i havent seen any difference but i perfer ticking every thing
Hello. I purchased an A7 Pro, as soon as it arrived it was not doing the updates automatically, so I chose to update with the Flash Tool. I installed this latest version and it was a success.
However, while I was using the device, it crashed, turned off by itself and did not turn on again. I tried to do the process of installing the rom again, but it does not install the preloader because it does not recognize the USB connection as "Mediatek Preloader USB VCOM", in addition to constantly connecting and disconnecting.
Can you help me?

Hi Kzwir,
Since you were able to take a screen capture on your computer of the SP flash tool, I'm assuming that you have figured out how to use the Flash tool. Did you follow the directions on the Umidigi site: https://community.umidigi.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=16931 ?
On the A7 Pro can you boot into bootloader mode? (From Power Off, press power button and volume up button once in the selection screen press the volume up button until you highlight fastboot and then press the volume down button)
If you can get into fastboot/bootloader mode, I would (in an account with administrator privileges) 1. Try a different usb cable, 2. completely uninstall any drivers, reboot the computer and then plug the phone in again while in Fastboot mode and see if it recognizes the connection. 3. Try a different computer - (if you used this computer to flash the phone originally, I suspect that this isn't the issue).
Good luck!

Hi.
I used all the procedures indicated in the official forum, I managed to make the device recognized with the necessary port for formatting (Mediatek Preloader USB VCOM).
The only problem that persists and probably hinders my goal is the intermittent connection and disconnection of the device, not allowing Flash Tool to perform the installation.
In all cases, what happens in the image I posted occurs. It loads the red bar and then does not perform any other procedure.

With an intermittent connection, I would look at 1. a different cable and 1. a different USB port (like the ports on the motherboard vs the front ports on a desktop).
Good Luck!
Hey I'm new to this forum and Android Tablets in general. I have received a Vodafone Smart Tab 4G, which doesn't boot up. It's an old Tablet and it hasn't been used in a couple years. I want to see if I can make it boot up and test whether it's still usable for minor tasks. I thought I'd try to install an update using an SD card, but it's surprisingly impossible to find anything from an official source. The service menu does say "KTU84P release-keys" which seems to suggest that it has Android 4.4.4 installed.
What I've tried so far:
1: Go into the service menu and do a factory reset.
2. Try to find an update file to install through SD card method (to no avail)
3. Put some alleged stock roms onto an SD card and try to use the update function (fails on the verification step)
4. Installed ADB & Unsigned Mediatek Vcom Drivers on Windows 10. ADB has no connection to the Tablet.
5. Downloaded and tried SmartTab4G_Recovery_KK_benjaminwan to no avail. It gets stuck at "waiting for device".
6. Downloaded SP Flash tool, but failed to find a ROM for the Smart Tab 4G with a scatter file.
7. Out of desperation I tried to flash it with a Smart Tab 3G Rom which had a scatter file, but when I press download nothing happens.
My current understanding is that the standard service menu isn't meant to be used to flash the firmware. If I had an official update file I might have had some success, but I couldn't find one. All the other attempts involving a connection to my Windows 10 PC failed, which seems to indicate that I might be using bad drivers. I'm honestly at my wits' end and I don't understand why this is any more complicated than going to the manufacturers website, finding my device, downloading the most recent system software and flashing it through the service menu. Hope someone can help me out with this one.
Update: Tried a different computer. Partial success. Device manager actually recognized an Android device this time. I installed the usb driver and the recovery batch actually didn't get stuck on "waiting for device" this time. That's great news, although I didn't get much further. Here's what I got:

Thread can be closed. I got it after all with the help of the available information. Turns out the recovery.bat was a dead end. Not sure why it didn't work for me with the batch. I tried the approach explained here with cmd and it worked fine.
fastboot -i 0x1bbb oem unlock
fastboot -i 0x1bbb boot cwm.img
Once I was in the cwm everything went smoothly since verification was disabled and I could install a custom rom. This probably took me way longer than it should've, but at least it's working now.
