So for some reason I can't get into Recovery. I was using TWRP just fine and running CM. I wanted to jump to CM 12 but had an older version of TWRP. I used their app to try to install a newer version. Now whenever I try to enter Recovery it freezes saying "Entering Recovery..." at the top. I tried to flash CWM using ROM Manager but same issue.
I just tried holding the power button and selecting Reboot>Bootloader. That worked, but selecting recovery makes it freeze with the "Entering Recovery..." as well.
I'm at a loss and I'm not sure how to fix it.
Use fastboot to erase cache, and then to install the latest TWRP (you can get fastboot flashable .img from the TWRP website).

So I bought recently a Redmi Note 2.
Want to flash TWRP, try using flashify but learn the hard why that through that app... Don't work.
Through adb, cmd flash the TWRP well, but when I go to recovery, still have the MI recovery, have all the drivers installed, adb, Xiaomi drivers and Mediatek Vcom.
So my last resort is flash TWRP through updater app. But that will work?
I have the global stable 7.2.2, because I have to flash this rom with SP Flash Tool when flashify method went all wrong.
Any help?
I just ran into this issue as well. I suspect the issue might be that the stock ROM replaces TWRP with it's own recovery upon reboot. Did you try rebooting directly into recovery after flashing the recovery image?
EDIT: Can confirm the issue is as suspect. On boot the MIUI rom will attempt reload the stock recovery.
TWRP should be able to patch this. After entering fastboot and flashing the new recovery, do not reboot using fastboot. Instead, hold power until the phone switches off. Then hold volume-up and press power. When the Mi logo shows, release all buttons. You should enter TWRP and it *should* offer to prevent your ROM from replacing it.
Yep, that works, didn't reboot to system and TWRP works.
I downloaded the twrp .img from the official website and flashed it using 'fastboot flash recovery twrp.img' and everything was shown Okay in cmd. Then I did 'fastboot reboot' and then after phone rebooted I went to recovery mode using volume up and power button but there was no TWRP there, only stock recovery was there. What went wrong? I flashed many times but same result
I had the same result like yours several weeks ago. And finally choose another method to install TWRP. Try below thread , it is easier.
http://en.miui.com/thread-296053-1-1.html
Your stock rom is replacing stock recovery every time you boot it.
TWRP needs a modified boot image flashed to make it permanent when used with official roms.

If you don't have the modified boot, make sure to boot into TWRP first after flashing it.
Handy way to get TWRP booted is to temporarily boot it using "fastboot boot <name of twrp.img>"
Once booted this way, use it to flash the TWRP image, then reboot into TWRP recovery you just flashed.
Once I had that done, after making a backup, I flashed a custom rom (xiaomi.eu) and TWRP remained permanent for me.
If your wanting to stay on an official rom, see this thread which has an Universal Boot Img Patcher.
Is Your Bootloader Unlocked? Cant flash on a locked BL buddy...

2. DO NOT install the official, unmodified TWRP...
select a TWRP from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/guide-redmi-note-3-available-twrps-t3406708
I Used the cofface TWRP
3. COPY Twrp.img to internal storage.....
fastboot boot TWRP.img
4. TWRP boots automatically... Press the button on Right to change device language....
Swipe right to allow modifications
5. Go to install... > flash Image. select TWRP.img
tap on reboot.... somewhere there, you will be asked to
1. install SuperSU
2. prevent phone from reverting to original recovery...
Swipe right on both.
Cheers!
When you do the "fastboot reboot" command, you should right away , press the volume + and power buttons together, so the phone boots into TWRP and not into the system. If you just execute the command and let it go , the stock recovery overwrites TWRP.
after entering "fastboot flash recovery twrp.IMG" don't reboot and don't entre "fastboot reboot"....you have to directly press power + vol up...you will able to boot into twrp
I had bricked my phone and falshed (rootable) 5.0.2 ftf. I now can start it and have rooted it, but cannot enter recovery. I had dual recovery installed (volume down for TWRP, up for Philz touch). Now I cannot enter either of them and the phone just boots normally. I also tried connecting to comptuer and running command adb reboot recovery. Same thing. I tried rebooting to recovery using TWRP manager app, but it fails. I would like to be able to flash .zip files so this is why I want it.
I have used LGUP to install software (Nougat) and it's working fine..
I then install TWRP as normal, no issues reported during install (I can see via cmd screen).
I then proceed to reboot to recovery using methods I have been using for months, and it goes to yes, yes selection.
It then doesn't load TWRP but carries on wiping my phone to basics again.
Have tried various methods of putting TWRP on but does anyone think is something to do with Nougat as the bootloader unlocked screen is different, larger text etc
Have now tried a KDZ for marshmallow and recovery still won't go to TWRP.
It's almost like the recovery area is now not accessible?
Any suggestions please?

Hmm strange. Have you tried rebooting using "adb reboot recovery" ?
I would suggest you flash recovery and boot straight into it not allowing the phone to boot into android. So flash recovery, remove battery, then try booting into recovery. Im pretty sure recovery can be lost if you boot into android before flashing SUPERSU (https://download.chainfire.eu/696/supersu/)
But i could be wrong
You have to do the following:
1) Flash the TWRP trouch Fastboot, don't reboot
2) Remove the battery, put it back, don't turn on the phone normally!
3) Use the button combination to enter in recovery
Ok have flashed again and it has "Stuck" this time after pulling battery before reboot so TWRP back!
Now to flash again and chill
Thanks both
I am using a REDMI 3S(having MIUI 10). I unlocked it's bootloader and tried to flash TWRP recovery into my phone...I installed the adb and fastboot (1.30 as the latest ones were not installing).. and download the twrp.img and successfully flashed the recovery.... But as soon as I tried to enter the bootloader and enter into recovery mode.. instead of opening the recovery it boots into system and then when I open the recovery it opens the stock recovery....
I have also tried to directly open the recovery through the fastboot commands but it only boots into system.... I even tried to fastboot reboot and hold VOLUME(+), VOLUME (-), POWER BUTTON to open the recovery but it opens into system only... Please help me I want to install the recovery...
