Hi everybody.
I just bought a Samsung S3 but I have a problem..
Every time I put my phone in standby, after 5-10 minutes the phone stops getting push notifications (fb, whatsup). I need to turn it on and after that everything's fine..
I tried do update to android revolution hd 17.1 but I still get this problem..
I've already tried to set Wi-Fi to always off, checked all notification setting but to no avail..
Is there a way to receive internet messages without turning on the phone every 5 minutes?

Their is a refresh setting of almost every internet app, try to change those. And check whether Do Not Disturb option in the notification panel is not on.
Hit Thanks if this helped.
Disable smart alert in 'motion' and that should fix it
Especially if you have a broken/malfunctioning proximity sensor

Sorry but I can't find any refresh setting in phone settings or whatsapp options. Can you please tell me where can I find them?
Have you downloaded any deep sleep apps or Juice Defender/any other battery management app?

No I didn't.
I even did a hard reset 2 days ago. The only apps I have right now are whatapp and fb messanger
I just tried to uncheck "smart alert" but the problem persists.
Okay wait, when you say 'standby mode', you just mean you're locking it, right?
Assuming that the answer to my previous question is 'yes', tell me, when you turn your screen back on do you get a little notification on the bottom of the screen that says "You are now connected to (whatever your WiFi is called)" ?
He still doesn't receive texts I believe so this is not having the WiFi set to turn off at lock

My issue only occurs when in 3G. It seem the phone disconnects from 3g line when in deep sleep.
I've already tried to use different sims of different operators getting the same behaviour
If I connect my s3 to a wifi spot it always gets notifications instantly

When you switch Stamina Mode on it turns everything off but calls and texts. You can add more apps if you wanna get notifications. Simply go to the Power management - stamina mode and click on apps + active on standby and add the apps you wanna get notifications

Hi I'm also using whatsapp all the time with stamina mode on but never encountered this problem. It is likely possible that whatsapp is being killed or acces to GCM is being blocked or regulated somehow?

Hello,
I have noticed since I started using whatsapp and viber that when the phone screen is turned off, if someone sends me a message via whatsapp, the phone doesn't instantly notify me. It is only when I turn the screen back on that I get the notification. Also, when someone calls me on viber, the phone doesn't ring. Again, it is only I turn the screen on, that I see all the missed calls.
I mostly use my phone on a wifi connection and the power saving mode is set on smart.
What can I do to get notifications as they are sent and not until I turn on the screen ?
Thanks

Look into huawei's power saving thing. It diables background apps. Just put a check in the box where it says allow in background.
Settings-power savings protected apps.

Maybe you can try steps in following post and see, it works for me quite well:

Same problem on my samsung j7.my viber doesnt ring.no notification until i open my viber app.
I am looking for a way to increase visibility of notifications on my Redmi 6 Android 8.1.0 O11019
I want them to actually be a pop-ups which would interrupt other applications if needed.
Second thing I would like to ask is about disconnecting apps.
Whenever I tab out of any app which is requires connection to internet (games or stuff) app disconnects I understand that Internet is cut off if I tab out - is thee anyway to prevent it from happening ?
Same with screen saver, is there a way to setup some applications to overrule phone general settings and do not turn off the screen during phone inactivity ?
