Hey all I have the double din android 4.2.2 ... I'm wondering if anyone has had this issue before,
The led lights for the buttons don't light up apart from when I turn the unit on however they come off straight away. I am able to go settings and then click on element and change the colour of the buttons they light up and then turns off again. It's really fustrating I have been trying to figure it out for days now how to keep the lights on the buttons on.. it's really annoying as i do alot of night driving and it dont look nice without the leds on the buttons.
Has anyone expirienced this before and are there any solutions could it be a software issue?
Thanks in advance.
Have you made sure your illumination wires are connected correctly. If the radio thinks your car lights are not on it might not turn on the LED button lights. Or try turning car headlights off. iF they are on.

Hi guys
Had my galaxy s 2 through T-Mobile for a few days now. Beats HD2 running TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 hands down.
I've debranded the phone, running KE7 XEU and rooted via chainfire's insecure kernel.
However I've noticed this morning that the capacitive buttons are no longer lit up. The power is very low and needs charging, so I was wondering is this normal? A sort of built in power saving thing perhaps?
I'm not actually running power save mode, but suddenly the buttons aren't lit, however they still work?
Any ideas.
Thanks
Yes, that's normal. Search the settings, you can customize the behaviour.

Thanks for the swift reply.
That's a relief!
I've just put on the Case Mate Tough case and suddenly the buttons didn't light up - thought maybe I'd somehow broken it!
I can see power save settings and an option under display to specify the touch key light duration, but not nothing specifically regarding turning off touch key light power saving mode when battery low. Am I missing something?
Unfortunately there isn't anything you can do. When the power is low the buttons won't light up. For me it's not the end of the world as I know where they are.

Is there a way to prevent the LED from turning on when its bright outside? I know that on the stock rom that their is a feature where it turns on and off automatically and is wondering if theres a feature/ mod for this.
You can set the light levels manually for the screen and the buttons when you have auto backlight on, but the button levels don't seem to have any effect. Not sure why, I'd also like to know the answer to this.
While I don't have an answer for this, it has been proved out the battery drain from the touch buttons being lit up is near negligible.
The touch button lights being on with bln, at least for the time being, doesn't cause battery drain, it's the process that turns them on for a notification that drains the battery.
So I guess that was a long way to say, why do you want them off?

Last night my phone was working fine. This morning I awoke late for my day because my alarm clock didn't go off, looked at my phone to figure out why and all I saw was a blank screen. Playing with the power button I am able to get it to a mode where the orange charging light turns on and the softkeys seem to respond (they provide haptic feedback at least). The backlight stays off, but I can tilt the phone around and see a cyan line stretching the width of the screen and I can manuever it up and and down using the volume keys. There are 10 items in this menu it seems since on the 11th click of the volume button the line jumps to the top of the page.
Can anyone help me? I've tried taking out the battery for 10+sec, I've tried removing supplemental hardware (sd/sim cards), I've tried on and off charger.
EDIT: It would seem the key is to loose all hope of it working, but continue to press the power button in desperation and after about 40+ attempts at power at this point it might turn on. I'm officially terrified I am going to wake up without my phone at any given day now =[
Rooted? Stock? Recovery? Rom?
Hello everyone, I just got done rooting my HTC one and I love the haptic feedback when I hit a button. After rooting it though, the haptic feedback doesn't seem to work. Also the capacitive buttons don't seem to light up anymore. Any ideas on what the problem is? I already tried restarting the phone and unchecking and checking the vibrate to touch button. Thanks

Hey all,
So I just flashed MIUI 2.4 to my Galaxy Vibrant and all went well but, when I press the power button or when the screen times out on its own, the bottom bar (the one with the Home, back and options button) light comes on and doesn't turn off. This is causing some serious battery drain and I'm not sure why it's happening... Any thoughts?
Cheers!

there is a feature that uses the button lights as notification lights.
you might try clearing the notifications and turning the screen off to see if its still doing it.
if the lights go out then that's it.
if you want to disable it, I believe the option is in settings (I'm not currently on that rom or I'd check)
