Wont Mount SD

Right this desire is starting to become a problem child to say the least -_-, installed gingerburst 1.0.0.3 pre rooted and S-OFF and suddenly it wont mount my sd card itll mount my 8gb one but not my 16gb one and i need the 16gb one. tried reformatting it in recovery and mounting it via tht but i dno if i did it wrong or something. need the sd card partitioned for data2sd so partition sizes and names and info wud be good, thx
in recorvery it also says under mounts and storage tht "mount /sdcard" so it doesnt mount it auto. i tried mounting it then rebooting but wont mount again. i found under advanced in recovery it has partition sd card i formated it n now ive partitioned it using this method biggest vales ext 4096mb so 4gb and w.e the highest one for the other one was. basicly i want this sd card to be partitioned for data2sd to work good desire has very low internal memory and gingerburst is the best sense rom i found
fixed: i re partitioned it in recovery under advanced after formatting it within recovery in mounts and storage then clicked mount within mounts of storage on the sd card then rebooted. need details for partitioning it now
on my sd card it has a linux swap file a fat32partition n an ext2 partition what partition has data2sd got to be? ext 4 3 2 1?
for sdcard u normally have vfat(fat32) filesystem, when using it as data also (data2sd) you should add any ext partition I would recommend ext4 however some roms might not support that (should be very old roms) so you can make it with ext3.
you can use Gparted or MiniTool Partition Wizard to repartition the sdcard. you can check what filesystem is your data partition using 'mount'.
note that you should have some vfat partition left if you want to use it as a normal sdcard.

[Q] Internal sdcard wont mount

I accidentally partitioned my internal sdcard and now it wont mount on usb storage... What should I do?
Repartition (this time correctly) and format in phone.

[Q] Memory partitioning cresta tablet

My cresta has a system partition (/system), a data (/data) partition and a sdcard (/mnt/sdcard)
And a mounted (/mnt/external_sd) external SD kart (8Gb)
The data (/data) partition is only 1 Gb and the rest of the internal memory is used bij the mounted sdcard partition. The data partition is allmost full and I can't move anymore apps to the sdcard (not all of the apps are movabe)
I can mount a external sd-card but I can't use it for moving applications. I only can move to the internal sdcard.
I want the internal sdcard (/sdcard) removed and the 2Gb added to my data partition.
And the mount of the (internat) sdcard witch is removed must be set to the mount /external_sd
I'm a newbie, so can anyone help me to change this?
There is nog data or apps on this tablet (Cresta CTP818) and I have a backup of the Original rom (tested to restore)
So I can try whatever I want.

First of all, you need a rom with init.d support (all custom roms have it but not the stock roms) and then an SD Card with ext partition. Before you make the ext partition, make sure to backup all the contents of the SD Card. Now go to CWM> Advanced> Partition SD Card> Size (1 GB max anymore and the system will lag)> Swap (0MB). Wait for it to say "Partitioning Done!". Ok now you have successfully created the ext partition on your SD Card. Now the final step is to install the script. Just download the script from below link and place it in the SD Card. Now boot in to CWM and do Mounts & Storage> Mount /system, then choose "Install zip from SD Card" & choose the required script from SD Card and finally do Mounts & Storage> Format /sd-ext. Reboot and go to Settings> Storage to see you newly increased internal memory.
Cronmod Unofficial / Data2sdext
Hope I Helped

[Q] Link internal storage to external SDcard

Samsung Galaxy S Duos 7562 has its internal storage sdcard0 shared with data partition. As the sdcard0 fills up the space to install apps reduces causing insufficient space to install error. If I delete files from sdcard0, I can install apps. Whatsapp by default saves its media files on internal storage even if there is an external SDcard.
My question how do I create or link the whatsapp folder from sdcard0 to ext_sdcard. Tried formatting ext_sdcard to ext2 and ext4 filesystem. But SD card was not recognized. Can this be achieved without rooting the phone?
Or root it once than unroot it back?
Person using is not tech savvy so possibility of creating problem or misusing root access.
You have to partition SD card then root your device and finally install link2sd and link it
not apps but folder
