LG g3 Vigor *LS885* - Sprint LG G3

Hi I have the sprint LG G3 Vigor LS885 model. I got myself rooted now all I need to complete my life is to get my hotspot working with out sprints annoying subsciption pop up. Ive tried hundreds of apps. All fail or try to sucker you into purchasing. Been at this for 7 hours Im friggin exhausted. Anybody save me or point me into the right directions, because Im almost positive because in my 1000s of searches I came across 0 roms for this device lol. Any help much appreciated. TY in advanced.

Have you tried to add ,dun to the internet and cinet.sprint APN's? If not, download shortcut master (lite) and search APN, and look thru and see if any of the choices that show lge_hiddenmenu vzw, or similar allow you to edit the internet apn.

[Q] LG Optimus LTE root (Japanese version)

Hello guys,
I have been reading this forum for quite a while and found a lot of useful information here.
So, first of all thank you to all the guys who put some hard work in developing those programs to make our lives and our smartphones better!
So here goes nothing. Just got this LG Optimus LTE phone some days ago.
And it is packed full with apps I don't need and that Docomo prevents us to remove them. Thanks to this the batteries goes bye bye even faster than expected.
So I would love to get root access to get full control.
like: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1376233&page=6
I read some threads, followed some methods -like 4 or 5 different ones- but nothing worked so far... Anyone who had success in that matter?
Really want to get an Optimus LTE (L-01D) but need to know I can root it first.
type this URL in your browser: i can't post links yet. logsoku.com/thread/anago.2ch.net/smartphone/1324176244/
these guys seemed to have tried everything. Scroll to #45, doesn't look like the Japanese version can be rooted.
they tried a bunch of things as well but to no avail.
I'm just curious, but the reason why I want to root it is so that I can get the nook app on it so I can read. I was able to use VPN to download apps on my HTC Desire HD, but when i got the Arrows Tab LTE, i wasn't able to use VPN to get the Nook app. is it possible with the Optimus?

I don't use this app, so that would be a tough question to answer.
Thing is, since docomo pretty much installed and configured the phone as they liked -with a crappy Home, slow as hell, that can be changed though- I am wondering if they would charge you extra for tethering.
They might have installed something to check on that. But this is just a random guess.
After a lot of research, I found this thread:
h t t p : / / houchi.net/products/l01-root
I tried and I successfully managed to root my phone following the instructions.
Heads up, it's all in Japanese BUT, if you just download the archive file and read the content of the files at the root of the folder with a text editor, you can just copy/paste the different instructions to make it work.
If it's too much trouble for some people, contact me and I will try to put the instructions somewhere else in english and with the Mac version of command line (really the same as for Linux).
Did not have time to have fun with it yet, but I removed some of the crap that the carrier bundled with the phone.
I will still have to look why it takes forever to start comparing to a Galaxy S for example (4 minutes is way too long...).
i tried and not successfully, only install Supper Use. You can explain for my by English, more more details
superuser wont work without root, try gingerbreak?

I have tried metroid script. It did not work. I am attempting to contact the author of that thread to see if he can help. You can use Pinger Text Free from market to send mms (It required you to created an account).
any updates on this?

Our version of Messaging doesn't have scheduling or Spam filtering (Verizon). Help?

Those features been disabled on Verizon cause theyre dicks and like to force you to use proprietary software. Its a different version of the messaging app without spam filtering or the ability to send scheduled messages. Scheduling was one of my absolute favorite features on my s3 I used it every day since i have a few buddies on overnight shifts that i cant text during the day.
I need help trying to figure out why the app from the other variants wont work on a VZW S5.
I tried replacing the apk and odex and fixing permissions with the appropriate files from the international variant. Files were from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2796268
Everything worked, including scheduling and spam senders but it blocked MMS from going through saying "invalid destination address"
tried again with the apk and odex from ATT variant, same result.
I wouldnt be asking on the general forum but our Verizon forum has NO DEVS whatsoever that will try to help solve problems like this, which is such a change from the SPRINT forums where 50 people would jump all over it and help get it done in under an hour lol.
I would like to know this too! I have an S4 with Verizon and would really like to block texts from certain ppl without having to do the whole 90-day block thing through Verizon! :fingers-crossed:
anyone found a solution to this yet?
CSC features expert ? (available on Play store)

If you are rooted then go to above post and follow the guide to enable priority sender in messaging app.
Download chomp SMS from play store... You'll get all the features you will ever need. Plus it's very easy and has great customizing options

[FIX] MMS on 4.4 Straight Talk[ATT varients at least]

Dunno if this has been fixed for many, but I found a nice fix for this issue. So on ST, with the latest version of Android, ATT decided to lock down the apn type, and completely screw over straight talk customers. I searched and searched, until I gave up and searched for ways to manually force edit it. I am a moderator over at /r/StraightTalk on Reddit, and this has fixed it for them, and myself. So to get it some exposure, Ill post it here too, since many come to XDA for their issues.
Step I.
Go ahead and buy the app "SQLite Editor". Icon ---->Like So.
Step II.
Step 2. After you have this application installed, go ahead and navigate to /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases and click on "telephony.db" file. Example
Step III.
Click Carriers. This will open a table like file, and you have free access to edit your apn. Make sure the authtype is set to 0! For apn type, type in "default, mms, supl, hipri, fota" exactly as shown here
Step IV.
Hit save, and back out of the app, and then go into your apn profiles and toggle it back and forth with the att/default one. After toggling, reboot. You should then check your mms and this should happen![IT SENT AND RECIEVED]
congrats! Your 300-500$ Phone is useful again.ಠ_ಠ

If this has been fixed, I apologize, I dont want any sort of credit, I just want my fellow Straight Talk users to not feel as frustrated as I was. Picture messaging, and group messaging is a big thing to not have on a new phone, and the customer service was not helpful.

ZTE Warp Elite N9518 for Boost Mobile Hotspot Hack

Thank you! Worked. To be more specific on what to search for in Shortcut Master (Lite), its "$apnsettingsactivity" without the quotes. The app name will be "Settings" and more detailed info about the app will show "com.android.settings.Settings$ApnSettingsActivity".
Any way I could get a bit more step-by step instructions? Thanks in advance! This would be a godsend considering how Boost's mobile hotspot service is $10 for 2Gb... That's bad news when Battlefield 4 puts out updates that are 1,500 Mb. :banghead:

Download "Shortcut Master (Lite)" from Google Play store. Open the app and go to the options menu by clicking on the vertical 3 dots at the top right corner. Click on "Search...". Where it says "Enter text to search" at the bottom, type in "$apnsettingsactivity" without the quotes. The app name will be "Settings" and more detailed info about the app will show "com.android.settings.Settings$ApnSettingsActivity". With my phone, it only popped up with that. If yours pops up with more apps after searching, just look for this field-> "com.android.settings.Settings$ApnSettingsActivity". Click on it and click "Launch". Now you will be in the APNs window. Select the APN that is in use (bubbled in). Now you will be in the Edit access point window. Scroll down and look for "APN type". Select that and put in the field that pops up "default, mms, dun" without the quotes. Click "OK". Now, I believe the final step is to restart your phone. Your all set
Not working for me?
It seems I'm not able to save apn.
Anyone know if the latest software update breaks this?
I did this with full updates today. Works fine. Make sure you save at top right by the dots drop down. Install a Wi-Fi tethering app.
Anyone comment on what is lost by putting in default, mms, dun?
Instead of dun mine said hipri or something. Worried I lost something and dun should just be added at the end. I should have taken a ss.
Edit it is hipri. Seems no reason to remove it. Still researching though.

I wish there was a way to add a toggle to the notification drop-down.
All the toggle apps on the market are hideous and/or slow, so I slapped together a clean little app with Tasker app factory that toggles the mobile hotspot on or off instantly: tinyurl dot com slash gs9lgkf (new user, can't post links)
edit: you still need to edit your apn obviously.

Hate to have to ask 4 something not even related to this discussion but..... I'm looking at getting the ZTE Warp Elite 5.5" phone with Boost Mobile but...... cannot find a link on XDA 4 rooting & would be nice but not necessary anything to do with TWRP!!! To me a phone is handicapped to h*** and back without TWRP but........... root would be enough to get me to purchase.
ANY help would be greatly appreciated bro
zach
zte warp elite root.
Can you use Shortcut Master to help root process of the ZTE warp elite n9518? You can unlock free hotspot no root necessary.
After using the shortcut master to hotspot, hotspot in 4g is very very slow.
My other phone is 3 g and is acceptable speed at 3g.
Is there Any way to control the network speed of the zte warp elite while hotspoting.
My phone refuses to operate 3g hotspot. I use a $35 plan, just wondering whether 3g on zte would be faster, if I could control it.
