Fast Chargers - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey gang,
So what chargers are 'valid' fast chargers for the S6?
Will any charger that is classed as fast work with it? Which ones do you all recommend?
Thanks,
Ed

I would like to know this too

Rapid charger

guys
I tried this charger believing the reviews but it's 40% slower than my OEM charger that came with the phone.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QTE09SY?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s01
Has anybody reliably tested these fancy dual-port chargers that actually work as fast as the OEM?
Thx
unless its a quick charge 2.0 dont expect it to charge as fast as the turbo charger, aukey make dual port chargers that have one quickcharge 2.0 port and another high amperage port
I should have looked for that - these days buying electronics on amazon can be confusing

Wireless Charging Issues

Is anyone else having issues with wireless charging? I've purchased 3 wireless Chargers...
2 Choetech Fast Chargers
1 Samsung Regular Charger
None of them work properly... they either charge EXTREMELY slow (and I'm using either the Choetech fast adapter or my factory Samsung adapter), or they stop charging at a certain point. Phone gets really hot if they by chance finally hit 100% and just sit on the charger. Many many many issues.... just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?

My friend has the Edge+ and the Samsung Wireless charger and he hasn't had one problem with it. Try calling choetech and explain to them the problem you're having.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ using Tapatalk
I have. They don't seem to have a fix either. I'm starting to wonder if it's my phone
I use an old Nokia pad, nothing fancy. charge rate is very impressive! It charges about the same rate as a wired standard charger would. Little over 2 hours from neat empty to 100. That's really fast for wireless , compared to what I'm used to. Same charger would take about 3.5 hours to charge my g3. I'm really happy with that performance! Got it a few years ago for 20 bucks brand new on ebay. May be even cheaper now lol

Power Banks which support the S7 Fast Charging

To my surprise, my tronsmart power bank does not support the S7's fast charging.

Can anyone please recommend a good fast charging power bank?
Thanks
I'm using this one:

Fast charging included ?
That's mine,
Xiaomi Ultra-thin 10000mAh Mobile Power Bank 2
Cheap & nice.
Regards!
Thanks to both of you. Im currently leaning towards the anker charger.
1. So to my understanding, any quickcharge 2 charger will support the samsung fast charging, while quick charge 3 chargers will not?
2. Does it say "fast charge" on the phone or you need the official Samsung charger for that to be written on the lock screen?

As far as I know, Quick Charge 3 should be compatible, too.
In my car i use "AUKEY Kfz Ladegerät Quick Charge 3.0 34.5W Dual Port". Works like a charm.

I wonder then why I tried my Tronsmart Quick Charge 3 charger and it said "Charging" and not "fast charging".

I know its a small chance, but i have to ask: did you enable fast charging in battery settings?
And to answer your other question: yes, it does say "fast charging" when using anker. Any charger with 9v and 1.67a output will display fast charging.
The reason your charger does not is that it has only 5v output, and samsung uses 9v for fast charging.

Im not sure about enabling fast charging actually, but I don't think anyone disabled fast charging. I don't have that device now to check it (it's my mother's who lives in another city).
The 9v explanation is most probably the reason it does not say fast charging. I will probably purchase the anker charger for her, as you guys say it say's fast charge while charging.
An update regarding the Tronsmart power bank:
It does support fast charging.
I just connected it to my S6 using the original Samsung cable and now it does say "fast charging". I guess it's a cable issue.
Anyway I think I will order the https://www.anker.com/products/A1310011 for my mother.
I myself am using the tronsmart charger for my Nexus 6P.
I bought a Qualcomm one off of Amazon for around 30 bucks. Supports fast charging and isn't much bigger than my S7.

This guy does as well, RAVPower 20100mAh 30W Type C iSmart 3.0 Data Transfer, USB C/Type C
Do these guys charge fast the S7? And safely?

That one is good too.
I have Xiaomi Powerbank 2 (10000mah), but only recharge 6900mah (2,5x S7 battery).
Powerbank supports fast charging and works fine.
I can honestly recommend, it's cheap and has compact dimensions.

I appreciate.
I have Exynos variant and fast charging works well.

Thank you. I've ordered a Xiaomi Powerbank 2 10000. If has fast charge, works fine and safe, that's enough for me.
I appreciate.

Samsung Galaxy S6+ Wireless charger works with s9?

Does it work properly?
Does it super charge?
Is there any problem of using an old wirless charger?
Should i buy a new one or something?
Sorry if this may look kinda stupid questions :\
Older wireless chargers work fine for the s9 and s9+
charge is slow, as quick charge is not supported by the s6 wireless chargers well a fast wireless charger will fast charge , but my s6 wireless charger is the regular non fast charge version and I know it works.
Phone does not get warmer then other charging options and my wireless charger is not getting hot.
I have purchased a rav power quick charger which I enjoy. It's fast.
Hope these responses help

Question 3rd party charger

What specs should I look for when looking for a 3rd party fast charger for the S23?
Just go for a Samsung brick/cable. The 25w ones are cheap and reliable.
If Samsung hadn't gotten so chintzy they still ship a complete phone set. Is that too much to ask for in a $1G flagship phone?
Samsung sucks now... more money, less perks.
Also, it will ensure you have access to the gaming functionality to have the phone plugged in and not charge the battery. If that's something you would like, then having a compatible PD charger is required. All my third party ones are not compatible... But the Samsung one is. I'm sure there are third party chargers compatible with that functionality but I couldn't tell you which.

^That's a long overdue feature.
The OEM brick makes battery troubleshooting much easier as well. They have a very wide input voltage tolerance. The 25w brick will slow charge at 60 VAC!

I'm actually using my Samsung 60W charger from my book2 so I get the best of both worlds! Obviously charging is capped at 45w on the phone (which really feels like 25w...)

Hmm... Sucks that it's not compatible with third party charges. I was going to save some money and buy an Anker.

My 10 yo Dell laptop has that battery charge isolation feature. It's nice to have.

It might be. I don't think I have an Anker one. The option says "with a compatible PD charger" so it's pretty vague..

I'll have to try my OnePlus 9 and Anker chargers. The Anker is only 30W but both of these support PD PPS.

The OnePlus 9 one will charge the S23U at 45W (was doing so on my S22U already).
I would make sure your charger has USB-PD with PPS. And that the PPS range it at least 12V at 5A. Most chargers limit the current in PPS mode at 3A. If the charger listing does not show the specs, try looking for "Samsung 45W", that seems to be the layman's term.
You may also need a 5A cable, a small chip in the cable telling the devices that it is capable of carrying up to 5A current.

And I ordered a Spigen PowerArc ArcStation Pro that just came by (I'm slowly replacing the old chargers for GaN ones), and it also is compatible with 45W charging.
For 25,49€, it fills the needs perfectly (smaller than the 1+9 brick, power efficient, more affordable).
I got the '45W USB C Super Fast Charger, 313 Charger, Anker Ace PPS Fast Charger Supports Super Fast Charging 2.0 for Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra/S23+/S23, S22/S21/S20/Note 20/Note 10' for £20.99, lucky really as its gone up to £24.99 now............interesting timing hey as when I bought it they didn't include the S23 Ultra

It's always a tight decision between Anker and Spigen, but recently I've been increasingly going for Spigen. The build quality is getting my favours, and they also have the "Designed for Samsung" label on an increasing number of products, which is guaranteeing that the quality is controlled and approved by our Korean friends. And as they're falling in the same price range for most of their products, if I'm buying stuff to pair with a Samsung device, then Spigen is my go to.
I've also been trying some Baseus products (docking station and USB cables), they're quite good in that segment of products too.
The handy size of the Anker done it for me
