Help with persistent notification - AT&T HTC One (M8)

Starting today I have a persistent notification that says, "Device Management is Running". I cannot open or swipe it away. I'm on a custom stock 4.4.4, s-off with twrp. I'm thinking it's related to the OTA update. Any ideas?

[Q] Removing OTA Update

On my Samsung Vibrant I have the T-mobile device management asking me to update. I'm using the Bionix Final custom rom and do not want to install this. I already removed the otacert file in security and it still pops up. There is not cancel it just says either install or postpone for a few hours. How can I get this message to stop popping up.
Any help is appreciated
Reboot your phone. QUICKLY goto settings then applications then running services and tap on DMservice and tap stop. Do this fast or it will check and start nagging you. This is how i got it to stop. And it must be done everytime you boot the phone.

[Q] Downloading Update Notification won't go away. Any ideas?

Hi guys,
I've the Atrix 4G 4.5.91. It is SIM unlocked and I'm using it in India. I frequently get the popup message asking me to update the firmware to 2.3.6, but I always cancel it as I'm planning to unlock the BL and flash custom ROMs.
Yesterday, I pressed the 'Update' button by mistake and the download got initiated, but as I was not connected to Wi-Fi at that moment, it left a notification 'Enable Wi-Fi to start download update'. This notification is not going away, even if I reboot the phone.
Now I'm not at all using Wi-Fi, fearing that the update will start. How do I get rid of this notification? Is Factory reset the only option?
Pls help. Thanks in advance.
didnt search the forum did you?

I did search. The page you have pointed out is for rooted users. I have not done anything with my mobile yet. It is brand new. It is unrooted and locked bootloader (as you can see from my signature).
And I did not ask about suppressing the updater popup. I already pressed 'Update' (by mistake) and there is a presistent notification on the notification bar asking me to enable Wi-Fi. I just want to get rid of the notification, as I fear that connecting to Wi-Fi would start the update, which I don't want to happen.

[Q] Notifications bar not showing up - Avatar ROM

Hi guys ,
So I was running Avatar 2.3 on my phone and finally decided to update it to Avatar 3.0.2 - Nightly - Latest Update.
I flashed it but it started messing up , notification bar stopped showing up , Swype keyboard stopped working and recent apps stopped showing up on long pressing the home button and wallpaper stopped showing up.
I then flashed Avatar 3.0 - Stable, It fixed the wallpaper issue but I still cannot get the notification bar back working.
I researched a bit and found out that all these symptoms show that "SystemUI" is not properly installed.
I tried using Adb to flash it but it says "device not found" and I cannot find "Developer Settings" in my phone settings.
So can you recommend me any fixes ?
Also can you help me in finding how to get adb working on it.
Thanks a bunch.
Got it fixed with a factory reset
But can someone tell me how to enable adb on it ?
Thanks

[Q] Any way to not get Lollipop pushed OTA to stock unrooted S5 on KitKat 4.4.2?

Hi all,
I just got an S5 today and it has KitKat 4.4.2. I accidentally clicked on the "Software Update" button in the "Settings>About Device" page and it started downloading Lollipop OTA. I couldn't find any way to stop the download. I have no intention of upgrading to Lollipop any time soon, so now I'm stuck with nearly 1GB of wasted space and an annoying nag to update.
I've been looking through this forum and it seems like the only ways to get rid of the nag and clear out the downloaded update require a rooted device. I prefer not to root my device so I'm wondering if there's any way to get rid of the nag and the downloaded OTA update without rooting. Do I pretty much have to do a factory reset?
If factory reset is my only route, will the OTA update just get automatically pushed back out and downloaded to my phone in a few days or weeks? If so, there wouldn't seem to be much of a point in doing a factory reset if the update will just come back. Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
John

In my case, disabling "Software updater" or something similar in Application Manager stopped the auto update (you can verify by tapping on "Software update" in settings again and nothing should happen).
Thanks for taking the time to respond. The post you linked was one of the articles that I looked at previously. The suggestions in the post seemed to only be applicable to rooted devices so I wasn't really able to use them. But thanks for linking it nonetheless.
In the Application Manager, I see two "System Update" applications. One can be turned off but other can't so I guess by default that that will be the one I'll stop. When I try to turn "Software Update" off, it gives me a nasty warning about stopping a system app and causing instability. Has turning off that application caused any instability on your device?
Also, all of these suggestions deal with how to prevent the OTA from downloading, but do you know of any way to get rid of the update and free up the space once it's already downloaded? I accidentally downloaded the OTA update and I'd like to remove it and have the phone not download it again. Will I have to do a master/factory reset in order to get rid of the update?
Thanks again for your help.
That nasty warning appears every time you try to disable ANY app, not just this one, and I've disabled a bunch of default bloatwares without any side effect. So you can just go ahead and disable it. As for the downloaded update, I would suggest using a file manager to list all files in the internal storage and sort by size, it would likely be the biggest file.
Thanks for the advice, Master 619. I tried using a file manager, as you suggested, but the file is not showing up. I'm pretty sure it's because my device isn't rooted and that file is in a protected area so I can't get to it. I'm figuring that I'm just going to have to do a master reset and then disable the "System Update" application.

How to trigger OTA update?

My phone showed notification of the new 20160531 stock ROM update on Saturday, but I needed to use the phone and didn't install it.
Now I'd like to go ahead, but can't find a way to start the process - the notification hasn't appeared since. I've tried rebooting, disconnecting and reconnecting to wifi. The Wireless Update app reports to be running, but wouldn't let me force stop and restart.
Thanks!

Could you explain your problem? May I just don't get you.
you tried to install your OTA Update, but it isn't possible anymore?
Restarting and searching manually for the Update via Settings should solve your Problem?
Sure - the OTA update notification appeared for a day, but I didn't install it (I needed the phone that day, didn't want to mess it up). Now I would like to install it (mainly for the promised battery optimisation) but the notification is gone and I don't see any way to get it back.

I haven't found anything about OTA update so far, just Android settings. There is a system app called Wireless Update which provides the notification from Elephone; just says it's running.

Well, go into Settings, below there search for 'About phone'-'About my phone' (at the bottom) and click on 'system updates'.
Is this working?
