[Q] Battery Drainage, Notification Panel, Battery Alerts - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

1st of all, when I updated my Sony Xperia Z2 with lollipop firmware I noticed that my battery drainage is going faster than before. Is that a problem concerned with the new software or it's something normal?
2nd, General and Silent settings are not included in the quick notification panel. I just have to press on volume up to be able to control my sound settings. It is really something annoying me.
3rd, when the battery reaches 14% ( which means the mobile needs to be charged), there is no notification that alerts me to the level of battery drainage to guide me to charge the mobile or not.
*N.B: I am from Egypt and I have a Sony Xperia Z2 (D6503) Model.

Hi
God job

1- Varies with each user. I have better battery life than before with 4.4.4
2- Sony has nothing to do here, It is Google's Idea
3-I never allow my phone to reach less than 20%, so I can't tell

[Q]Battery Low notification over Bluetooth handsfree

Hi!
That problem is not SGS2 specific, as I had it on Vibrant and SGS as well.
I have bought some BT handsfree on Dealextreme , which , according to specs, has BT v2.1.
My problem with all above mentioned phones , including SGS2 , and this handsfree, that no matter
which ROM I use, once battery level crosses the 40% level, handsfree starts telling me that battery
is low on the phone. It repeats the phrase every 30 seconds, and that is really annoying.
Handsfree manual doesn't contain any info regarding the option to cancel such notifications,
but since issue occurs in 3 Samsung Phones, I assume that is something Samsung related, or BT 2.1 related.
Does anyone here know of a way to change that behavior?
To cancel the notification totally, or at least set the notification level to 20% and not 40%, as it is ?
Thank you in advance!
I am trying to track down something like this. I have my Galaxy Note N7000 tweaked to drain less than 1% per hour, but when the level reaches 40% suddenly the drain kicks up by a factor of 4. There is some other process kicking in at 40% battery. This is with both powersaving options on the phone disabled (Gingerbread). I just set up a "custom" power saving level at 20% and am waiting to see what happens now when the 40% level is reached this time...
When I find the power-saving process causing all this trouble I am going to kill that APK stone dead I can manage my own phone battery usage, thank you very much, Mr Google...

Xperia Go battery level nonsenses

I have Xperia Go with latest ICS update. I noticed battery status nonsenses. Integrated battery status says 40%, but after reboot - 48% or something like that. How to fix it? How to disable it? Maybe battery status program from Play Store will help to fix issue? BTW, after I did ICS update, I did factory reset.
Thanks
Yeah this seems to be a „feature“ of all Xperias. I have the same issue with XP. Battery jumps 10% up after phone OFF/ON and the batery is even charging for a while when all networks turned OFF lol xD
Try to use root toolkit and "Calibrate battery". This probably won't help however .. :_((
happens with me and everyone i guess...but it isn't as annoying..after reboot it shows a little increase but it's back to the original level in a very short period of time...in your case if it doesn't then enjoy the extra battery life

[Q] Xperia Z problem about charging, new firmware and Battery drained by Google PLay

Hi guys,
3 Questions
1- Still charging in 6-7 hours. Is there a solution after 3 months to that?
2- 27% of the battery is drained by GOOGLE PLAY. While 23% by Display and others... What would be the reason for this high drainage of Google Play services (not android services)
3- IS the latest firmware good enough to upgrade or is it the same with Xperia Z phone?
Please help me about the battery charging and drainage, or I will sell this and get a fukin ipad.
Thanks

1. 6-7 hours of charging could be only on USB port which provides up to 500mA only. Use the supplied wall charger which provides 1500mA.
2. Use CPU Spy in order to see if the tablet goes on Deep Sleep state or not. If Deep Sleep state isn't reached or it is a small amount of the total screen Off time, then install WakeLock Detector which will show you which service keeps tablet from reaching deep sleep mode. Then use some autrun manager (Autorun Manager PRO is suggested) in order to disable the service or app that drains your battery by keeping tablet away from Deep Sleep.
3. I like a lot the latest Firmware (4.2.2). Some say that lacking the old layout is a minus. To me looks very nice and with the addition of Xposed and GravityBox I almost get the look n' feel of AOSP/CM on Stock.

Android 7.0, battery questions

Hey guys,
I've just now installed Nougat and have been looking forward to it. However, I want to inquire if there are any steps I can take to optimize my battery life.
My Z5 Compact (about one year old) isn't rooted, and I'm aware of Sony's Stamina mode but I haven't seen any settings for Doze, which I was under the impression was going to be coming to the Xperia lineup alongside Stamina. I've removed a handful of apps and have my display's adaptive brightness turned off (the brightness is regularly set to 25%ish), but my battery life is still dramatically depleting. In about 4 hours since removing from the charger and very casual use (maybe 30-45mins), I'm down to 77%.
Any basic tips or advice would be greatly appreciated, as I've seen a slew of mixed opinions on what things to try that are actually debunked and/or have miniscule effect on the battery.

We have users who say , "I have battery drain", and others user who say "my phone is perfect". This has caused a lot of confusion.
It is because the battery drain problem only affects certain regions and not others - creating a mix of opinions and confusion on the XDA z5 compact forum.
I suggest you switch to a regions firmware that does not have the battery drain. Different regions firmwares have different battery drain for the same build/version number. For example, NOBA region, and Taiwan (and maybe you region) have a 1% per hour idle battery drain, but the Hong Kong or Australia region hold the their charge with a near 0% per hour battery drain (obviously the phone uses some power, but in general you can go to sleep at night with 100% and wake up with 100%-99%). I have tested this over and over again - and any user can test it themselves. Identical device on NOBA region will drain and 1% per hour, simply flash the Australian firmware and its fixed.
In summary: Switching your current device to the Hong Kong or Australia firmware will fix the 'over night battery drain' or 'idle drain' problem - no exceptions, it will work. No root, custom kernel, or debloating required.

battery issue

hello.I replaced my battery and I have the same problem (somehow) as before!to clarify..I dont know why I cant get the superb of 11 SOT when I bought it and running kitkat..now I am on lollipop and get max of 7:30 SOT max.
So my issue is that when battery goes down from 16% iy drains battery % muuuch faster!it happens again now even after replacing the battery, but not so quick compared to before..what can be the cause?thanks.
STAMINA Mode?
Do you enable stamina mode when the battery gets low (e.g. 15%)? I find that the battery drains faster when stamina mode is on (sounds funny-I know, since it should improve battery). Even for my Xperia XA, I seem to lose more battery with stamina and even more with ultra stamina. :silly: This is when the device is idle.
yes dude I have always stamina on.I miss the good days with kitkat that I had 11 hours SOT.Maybe I'll revent back to kitkat to test.but I don't think I will get these numbers again..don't know maybe is hardware issue cause tablet is 2+ years old...

Possibly a hardware issue but I doubt it. I've used an Xperia device running KK and can say that that was the last version (I think) that had the good old stamina mode which totally suppressed mobile data/wifi resulting in very good battery life, ever since lollipop they decided to use the built in android battery saver and based stamina mode around that which is next to useless, it doesn't actually suppress the network connection, only reduce brightness, sync and performance.
I find that only keeping the wifi on during use/charging to help a lot, settings->wifi-> it is somewhere there where you can change this.
You could always revert to KK if you find a ftf.
I've only had the tab for a week or two and am happy with the battery life vs performance, much better than the nexus 7 2013.
me too.I love it and have no complain about it.but this battery issue drives me crazy.I found my old flashable zip, maybe I try again kk thanks!

Where did you bought the battery? Maybe it's fake or not new. I'm on Android MM now and battery life is superb compared to lollipop. It's comparable to KK
My Xperia z3 compact tablet battery drains fast
Hi Everyone,
I got the xperia z3 compact tablet earlier this year and it was good for a few months before the battery started giving me issues. It practically drains out while still about 60% charged and when you plug it for charging it begins from 0% before a twinkle of an eye it's at 100%. I noticed lately the tablet goes off even when the battery is saying 80% charged. I've reached out to sony and the suggestion was that i format the tablet which i did but to no avail. Pls is there anything i can do?

Unfortunately it sounds like a hardware problem since a reset didn't fix it. You can try going into the service menu and see battery health there, maybe even do a test on it. To go into the service menu open the phone app and dial *#*#service#*#*
You spell service by using the corresponding number buttons.
Edit: realised it might not have a phone app, in that case download an app from the play store that helps you open the service menu. I don't own this tablet anymore so can't fully remember haha.

You sure? It should be under "Service tests" -> "Battery Health test" (you may have to scroll towards the bottom). For example on my Xperia Z5 it says "Good, no need to replace it." Other than that I don't know what else to say, because if a reset doesn't work it has to be a hardware issue. It may be useful to try an app which reads battery diagnostics.
