Hello all, I recently flashed Cyanogenmod 12.1 on my Xperia Z2. I really love it but there are a few things which I wish they were there.
One of them being triluminos display. It was one of the best features of the Z2 and I really want to see it on Cyanogenmod..
The other thing I want is better camera, Cyanogenmod looks like if screwed up the camera, especially the front one, Oneplus One seems to take better pictures with its 13 MP sensor than Z2 with its 20.7!! Does anyone know a way how I can make cyanogenmod camera better.. Last but not least, the speaker, although I like them, I think they can be a little bit better. AudioFX seems to work fine but is there something better? thanks..

Hi,
I saw some news on g+ about a hdr feature for the cm camera in next builds.
I would really like to get my hands on this for defy cm10. Did anyone fool around with this already?
one less gadget.

the camera sensors are relatively poor on the defy compared to most current mid-high range devices. Many of these devices offer ZSL (zero shutter lag) which is imo absolutely crucial to stitching a quality pic from 3 different shots. we can't change the defy hardware, so this hdr option would hardly offer much of any benefit.
AW: New cm10.1 HDR camera?
I know it is possible to replace the cam of defy ......
But i do not know if the there is a cam aviable for its interface an the driver question is also a problem .....
So i think we cant get this features
MB525 red lense
HDR camera feature
not sure how far we can keep pushing our defy, but it would be good to have. I'm sure if it's possible someone with knowledge will manage to get it into our future rom builds
Pro HDR camera app (find it on gPlay) does an OK job as long as you remain relatively still when shooting.
I switched from a Samsung rom to an Aosp rom a week or so ago, and while I'm loving most things about it, I really find the default Android camera lacking compared to the Samsung one. The Samsung camera has better focusing, much, much easier to navigate menus, takes better night shots, has stabilization, and seems to consistently take better pictures. Is there any way to get it to work on aosp? I remember there being a way to do it on the s3. If not, what camera apps do you guys use?

Unfortunately you will be unable to use the samsung camera app on aosp. I purchased camera zoom fx and use that. I also have heard people recommending snap hd camera but I haven't personally tried it. The picture quality doesn't seem to be as good on aosp as touchwiz. It's a trade off of running aosp but worth it imo.

i reccommend the motorola one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2387369
i also like the Camera Zoom app. But the motox one is best.
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll give your ideas a try. I've used HDR camera before with good results, but I'd like an all around good app. I think I'll try the moto one first. EDIT: I tried the moto one. I love the interface, but there are no settings for anything such as video or picture quality, or storage location.
Hi everyone,
I am a happy owner of a Sony z3 tablet (aka SGP611, aka scorpion_windy).
Last week I installed cm12 with the help of this excellent post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-...t/root-root-locked-bootloader-sgp621-t3013534
Everything goes well and the device runs stable, but for the camera.
The cameras auto-focus appears not to be working. I tried different camera software but the problem persists. Front and back camera only produce blurry images. Is this normal? Googeling suggested that the camera quality will be reduced due to the missing proprietary drivers from Sony, but nowhere it is mentioned that the auto-focus is not working.
Is this a common problem, can this be helped? Any help will be appreciated.
I have the same and didn't get any info on that, even though it works just ok for some people
same here. sgp621.... I want to sell it just because of that....
I have the same issue with my Z3 cell phone.
Installed CM12.1 which is awesome, but the camera quality got completely messed up.
The Z4 camera port install causes my phone to get stuck in the CM loading screen forever. And the Z5 camera port doesn't work on CM.
So, this blows.
Same problem here. I have Sony Xperia Z3 compact tablet (SGP611). I installed CM 12.1-20160126-NIGHTLY-scorpion_windy.
My front camera focuses OK but back camera is blurry and won't focus.
Same here. Any solutions since last post?

Using it as well and I am happy with it
Try: Focus or Cyanogenmod camera app, they're pretty similar but I prefer CMcamera.
Open camera is the best by far.

Will never happen. As source for this has never been released by Samsung. Has been this way for ALL custom ROMs since ever. The camera is the main reason I keep going back to stock. Focus is horrible on pretty much all custom ROMs. But because of major security flaws in stock OS I'll be switching back to CM.
Maybe auto focus is terrible but manual is damn good for macros. I used to make macros of smartphone motherboards, mostly after water damage to show clients that they phones wasn't stop working just by themselves. I can tell You on stock pictures from my phone was a lot worse than my coworker iPhone 5 and now they are a lot sharper and brighter than on his iPhone. I never tested outside photos on CM but I think it's only matter to feel manual focus.
Snap on CM11
Also using 12.1 on s4 mini, I've tried all cameras but have settled on Snap Camera HDR. Focuses fast and accurately, and doesn't lag. Also works well in lower light.
I just came back from CM 12.1 to CM11 in my S4 Mini Duos and switched to snap Camera HDR. Far better than built in CM11 camera app. The only thing I miss is the capturing with on/off button...
I use A Better Camera
Google Camera is pretty fast.
I've settled on A Better Camera (running on CM12.1) as I like layout etc., admittedly auto focus is not as good as CM app in some lighting conditions but a quick tap on the screen and it will focus perfectly.
Try the Ucamera application.
It is very good and it has many effects. It s available on play store
Google Camera is a pretty good choice.
It is not so simple. You can not have the same quality stock cam because any cam app is working with generic drivers in CMs or any other ROM CM based . For the same reason , the audio (mostly capture) also will never have the same quality.
It is a price to pay: Camera and audio quality worse.
Some apps can even do a good job, but difficult to achieve equal quality.
Until the other day I used CM13 and even liked, but needed quality to scan a document on an emergency. I had to restore Stock Backup. I lost the desire to again change the ROM and stayed in Stock. Unfortunately it is a reality.
Some apps can even do a good job, but difficult to achieve equal quality.
One consolation is to use some Xposed Modules and other tools that make Stock ROM ... Less outdated, I would say.

very true. most of the time i go back to stock jelly bean. No kitkat update for i9190
I have Camera Next, CM12.1. My favorite camera app. But it works fine in CM13?
After I unlocked bootloader and installed Cyanogenmod 12.1 I noticed the picture quality isn't as good as it used to be. Can anything be done to make it better? I'm not sure if it's even working right, with HDR turned on the flash still goes off and I didn't think it was supposed to.
Try different camera apps until you get the right one. But with an unlocked bootloader, you will find hard next to impossible to get the same camera quality you had on stock everything. That's why I no longer unlock the bootloader, the Z series loses more than it gains.
you can try different camera apps: Procapture, DLSR Cà‰mera Pro, Camera FV 5 ..... Camera of CM is bad because CM Rom don't good about Camera.
