In need of a good ROM - Motorola Droid RAZR

I have tried out Liquid Smooth KK Milestone build and CM 11 latest snapshot build. LS proved to be better in battery life than CM11. But still i am not satisfied, please suggest a ROM (KITKAT) with good battery life.

Is the latest build stable enough to use as a daily driver? Are there any bugs?

Every rom in the world has some bug from time to time!
Sent from my Razr XT910

I have been using this ROM (in some form or another) as a daily driver for years. Either the official build, Full Throttle (based on AOKP), Full Throttle Killer Bean (a Jelly Bean rom when phone was still on ICS), back to official version when I updated phone to Jelly Bean, and then to this when official AOKP stopped at 4.2....
Definitely good enough for a daily driver. And then some.

Do you use it on stock slot?
Sent from my XT912 using XDA Free mobile app

Older version is on stock now, but currently using latest version in slot 2. I feel "safer" running this way, if something goes wrong, I can boot to stock. And battery is slightly better on slot than on stock.

CyanogenMod 10.1 becomes Officially Nightly

Just sharing the information I saw today in Google+:
Motorola Droid RAZR/RAZR MAXX (XT910) and Motorola Droid RAZR (XT912) are now officially supported by CyanogenMod Team.
As they said in this post, the developers who are porting this ROM to us joined the CM family.
You can see the Device page here:

Hope we all could enjoy it's stable release soon!

Per the web site: "This is for XT912 with stock ICS KERNEL ONLY!"
Awesome... hope they solve the bluetooth issue soon.
We'll likely see it stick to ICS Kernel only until a bit after the official Jelly Bean OTA, at which point you'll start to see dhacker and Hash switch things over permanently. I still can't believe that a new Motorola device is supported, much less one as locked down as Verizon has the CDMA version haha. Kudos to both dhacker and Hash for their hard work on all this.

Great news! I'm glad all their hard work has paid off
Running it now. Works fine although there's still no Bluetooth and no flash.

The bluetooth has been my biggest pet peeve with 10.1. I really wish I could use 10.1 daily but it doesn't make sense for me without bluetooth functioning correctly.

Running this with the 20th March nightly on SS3.11. Wondering if anyone has been successful getting it working under BMM or if anyone has even tried with CWM? Happy it works under SS but kind of perfer the way BMM opperates and would like to give it a go... any thoughts ??
Many thanks,

Well, I'm using it at the moment, so the current kexec official builds definitely work with BMM
JFYI, the kexec official builds also work after performing the OTA JB EU update. Just removed SS3.11 saved root with OTA Root Keeper, Flashed (held breath) booted all good.. renabled root, reinstalled SS.. booted into recovery, selected by CM10.1, wiped cache and dalvic (a few times each for good measure) rebooted and away she goes... now I've got 4.1.2 Stock and CM10.1 4.2.2 under SS. Happy Days!
working fine with bmm.there are some issues.but it is good enough for daily use.:good:

[Q] JB OTA vs CM10.1 or AOKP

Hi Guys,
Might be a bit of a noob question but I'll shoot it off anyway. I'm currently happily running SS3.11 with UTMS_Spyder CM10.1Nightly with ICS EU 4.04 Stock on XT910. :victory:
Everything seems to work like a charm and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what benefit there is to taking everything back to stock and flash the JB EU OTA?
Seems like until Hashcode and Dhacker get CM10.1 and AOKP running properly with JB Kernel I'd actaully be loosing functionality?
Any devs care to comment / clarify?
Cheers,
Phil
It's really just personal preference. There used to be a whole list of things that didn't work on AOKP/CM10 however Hashcode/Dhacker have worked extremely hard to iron them all out, it's really impressive. CM10 just updated to using the JB kernel meaning there is no more graphic tearing and battery life is almost the same as stock. Bluetooth problems were fixed last month. I think the only big bug left is automatic flash on the camera (however this still works when setting manually).
But to answer your question, technically running stock you are losing functionality. CM10/AOKP are running 4.2.2 while stock is 4.1.2 (I believe), meaning there's a whole bunch of features missing in stock. CM10/AOKP are being updated nightly meaning they will only improve while stock... well it's just stock. There wont be another update unless something is seriously wrong or Motorola decides to upgrade to the next AOS. Stock also includes a crapton of bloatware which slow down the phone. Even if you manually remove/freeze everything, I still believe CM10/AOKP to have better performance than stock any day. Hope this answers your questions
Sv: [Q] JB OTA vs CM10.1 or AOKP
I just love the customizations that cm 10.1 gives you. I can never go back to stock again. I also run the hotplug governor un order to save battery (one cpu shuts down when not in use) with noop scheduler. This tips were given by the poster above! Try cm and you'll never go back!

Is there an AOSP ROM that works with the leak JB kernel that the camera and tearing is fixed or only the soak kernel?

Well then... I think the decision is easy. Wait for Moto to release JB Fastboot and the amazing devs here to make a root tool and update CM10.1.
Why take a step backwards from available functionality for an official OTA.
Cheers Guys,

Thanks, I was running AOKP previously but have paid version of Juice Defender which started complaining that it didn't like ASOP base and I should switch to Cyanogenmod. Besides that compatabililty issue though I do really like AOKP ROM.. and did find it both fast and very stable.

A great ics rom??

Im testing the Docs Master ICS V12.1 on my phone and its like slow and laggy, is there another ICS build available that its stable and fast?

First and foremost, is there a particular reason you've chosen to run ICS versus the latest iteration of Android, JellyBean? You may not be aware, but running ICS has a great risk of causing near-permanent damage to your phone's internal SD card. You can read more about it here... LINK. However, if you accept the risk and would prefer to run ICS versus a newer version of Android, I would have to recommend ICZen. Before I got hit with the Encryption Unsuccessful error myself, I used ICZen as my daily driver. It's a really good ICS ROM, but remember, every and any ICS ROM has the risk of causing corruption. So unless there is a specific reason you're running ICS, I'd recommend switching to a JellyBean ROM (if you're after the latest version of Android).

I do have all the latest builds of JB and i love them but i have a huge problem where i live with signal strength and the JB builds do have the issue of lower signal, data speed, wifi and battery life. And for me and the kind of work that i do i need to have more life in my phone. Someone told me in another post that i need to stick with Froyo or GB builds or ICS , as of rigth now im running FishmanMod Blue 2.2 Frankestein V2 and its running great. So i was just looking for a ICS build to try.
AW: A great ics rom??
Take iczen

Any 4.2 roms worth suggestion

Any 4.2 roms worth suggestion, I installed the new un-leaked JB and i lost root leading to safestrap being lost also. I had CM10.1 but i lost the .zip file and CM10.1 appears to be only for the ICS kernel. So back to my main point are there any STABLE, good roms with 4.2, thanks.

Actually I think cm10.1 works now with kexecs too as some bugs were caused by the ics kernel... But my information is only for xt910

I think CM10.1 is a pretty good one. Their are some bugs, like no auto camera flash and gps , but its good for daily use. Also u schould have a look at the PAC ROM.
Max
CM10.1 is a pretty good ROM. It uses kexec. So, no matter if you have installed ICS or JB kernel.
Please visit the development section to find a ROM which fits your needs most.

It depends on what your 'everyday using' means. For me this ROM works great. [ROM][Feb 18][4.4.2] I9300 AOSP NeatROM v3.1
There are still bugs in all 4.4 Roms and will be until Samsung release their official one (or we get a leak)

I have tested Teamasek CM 11. This Rom is very smooth and fast and have many Features. But all AOSP or CM Roms are a little buggy.
ok, thanks... I prefer stable to new. I will wait for the well working ROMs. Thanks for your responses
