ok I odin back to stock NH7...
took the ota to NK4...
then took ota to OC5..
everything is cool but a few questions...
Does cf auto root work on OC5 I didnt see the file on his site?
Which recovery works best CWM Philz or TWRP ? and im sure i need a lolipop compatible one?
Waanum xposed for 5.0 ready yet?
Root, debloat, and enable wifi hotspot are usually my main goals...
Definitely looking for a Lolipop hotspot Mod?
Is it just me or does the notification panel have to be touched at the top to be dragged down? ( All previous builds I could set a gesture swipe down to bring down notifications.
I mean it doesnt work on NOVA or Lightning Launcher?
So cf auto root for oc5 yes,for recovery I'm using twrp 2.8.6.1 and is working just fine, and so for right now exposed is not working on samsung based roms but if you have an aosp rom even if it is for samsung it may work and for free wifi hot spot you can use galaxy tools(idoneapps) i don't remember about notification panel since I'm on darklord rom.

Go here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2522638 and grab nk4 tar.
1. Odin'd stock NK4 tar using Odin3 v3.09 in the AP slot (kept Auto Reboot & F. Reset Time checked).
2. Let phone reboot. Skipped all the setups.
3. Powered down phone than booted into stock recovery to perform a factory reset.
4. Once phone rebooted I went to 'System Updates' and let the OTA do its thing. Phone rebooted.
5. Powered down phone and rebooted into bootloader (everything showed official)
6. Odin'd TWRP using Odin3 v3.09 in the AP slot (UNCHECKED Auto Reboot & F. Time checked).*
7. Pulled battery and rebooted into recovery (TWRP).
8. Flashed Chainfire's UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46 and rebooted.
9. Successfully rooted.
This isn't my instructions. I'm just copying and pasting from the general section.
http://autoroot.chainfire.eu/ here you go look for ms-900p it will say nh7 4.4.4 but you can use it to root your sprint note 3 on 5.0 oc5!!!
TWRP 2.8.0.0 works great. I Odin'ed: openrecovery-twrp-2.8.0.0-hltespr-4.4.img.tar
Native hotspot mod works on stock ROM without root. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2796994
Xposed framework will take time for Samsung devices. Check for updates at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
You don't need cf auto root. Flash your recovery. I'm still using philz not a single issue. Then flash supersu zip and reboot that's it.

I cannot seem to get the OTA again since the system seems to think I have OC5......HELP PLZ!:crying:

I have a rooted sprint note 3 that I really want to flash a custom rom on. I cannot seem to find any good places to give me step by step instructions. I have flashed custom roms way back on my droid razr, but I really need some help. Can anyone point me in the right direction with a link or anything that will walk me through this?
I'm also having the same problem, I'm rooted but don't know how to install a custom recovery. I used toweltoot. Any suggestions??!

OK, first what version of KIKAT are you on ? If you are on 4.4.4 NH7 the latest upgrade then you can root with Chainfires CF-autoroot or his SuperSu v 1.94 or v2.02 this will trip KNOX warranty. Towel Root will not work yet for NH7. If you are still on 4.4.2 NC5 then you can use Towel Root to root your device, this will NOT trip KNOX warranty. If you root with Chainfires CF-autoroot or his SuperSu v 1.94 or v2.02 this will trip KNOX warranty on NC5.
Recoveries, the two popular ones are TWRP and Philz CWM. INSTALLING A RECOVERY WILL TRIP KNOX WARRANTY!!! You need a recovery to flash roms so you need to make choice at this point ? Here is the link to Philz CWM latest version 6.48.4.tar https://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/hlte/ download to desktop or downloads.
I run a stock rooted 4.4.2 NC5 with Philz custom recovery version 6.12.9 hltespr https://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/hltespr/ . The device was rooted and warranty tripped the second day I owned it. I was in a Sprint corporate Store a couple of wks ago. Showed the tech my rooted note 3. He said I can't touch that, I said what if I unrooted the phone. He said no problem, now I can warranty the phone. He didn't care that the KNOX flag was tripped at all 0x1. Just can't be rooted when you bring it in for service. Sprint doesn't care about KNOX only Samsung cares about KNOX. When Samsung paid millions to the NSA to design a security system to track and spy on others than they care !!!
Ok lets install a recovery !!!
1. you need Odin on the desktop of your PC here is the link http://www.downloadodin.info/download-odin-1-85
2. you need to install Samsung drivers on your PC you can get them from the link in #1
3. completely power down your device, and boot into download mode (press and hold the power button, volume down button, and the home button at the same time) a new screen will popup then push the volume up button to get into download mode.
4. click on the Odin zip file and extract to desktop, right click and run as administrator
5. with your device in download mode connect it to your pc via usb cable, COM: will light up in the upper left hand corner of Odin doesn't matter what color or number just shows a connection has been made.
6. click PDA box in odin, a box will popup click where ever you have recovery file downloaded, once open it will show up in box next to PDA
7. click start wait till you see pass and success 1, then your custom recovery is installed.
After the recovery is installed, download a copy of SuperSu to your desktop here is the link http://download.chainfire.eu/396/SuperSU/ to version v1.94. Then copy and paste to sd card via USB cable. Now the next thing you are going to do is completely power down the device and boot into recovery. (press and hold the power button, volume up button, and home button at he same time) a menu will come up, click on Install Zip, then sd card to install zip and root device. Boot device and verify it is rooted, then power down, and boot into recovery. Click on backup, MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR ROOTED ROM !!! Then make a backup of EFS file by its self it will show up in your backup file on the sd card or ext sd card depending on where you choose to put it. Copy and paste the efs file someplace safe.
With the Google Play Store download some type of root file manager like Root Explorer (what I use)
OK lets flash a rom !!!
First, you CANNOT flash a rom that is based on an older version of rom you are currently running. EX: If you are on KK 4.4.2 NC5 you can flash a rom based on NAB or NC5 but you CANNOT use a rom based on mj4 or older read the OP thread carefully . You can run AOSP roms as long as they are based on 4.4+.
1. install the new rom zip you want to flash on your sd card via usb cable from PC or download directly to device
2. power down phone completely and boot into recovery
3. from the menu find and wipe cache, delvik cache, and wipe system to install new rom, NOT FACTORY RESET !!!
4. go back to menu and click on install zip then click on where you have the zip ( i.e. sd card ) and install this will take a minute or two
5. back to main menu and reboot device this will take several minutes on the first boot of a new rom
6. enjoy your new rom !!!
Lets do a restore from backup recovery file !!!
1. completely power down device and boot into recovery
2. go to main menu and click on wipe system to install new rom ( no need to mess with the caches on a restore )
3. back to the menu click on back up and restore, then click on the backup file location ( i.e. sd card )
4. now click on restore
5. when its completed reboot device this will install your original rooted stock rom you made a backup for
Eventually you will figure out that you can make several backups and they have really weird numbered time stamps to identify them.

YES, first, make sure you are wiping everything in recovery, then I would just flash the rom. This will make sure you don't have a bad down load of the rom. If it boots up, then go back into recovery and flash the kernel. You should try the LeanKernel its OC to 2.7ghz here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2488082 Vision-X is TW based rom so click leankernel other n900x devices choose the " hltespr kk v3.8 " kernel. Enjoy !!!
Make sure you install Trickster or SetCPU from the play store so you can set what type of governor you want to use on the kernel. ( like interactive ) Then you need to set the min and max cpu frequencies so the kernel will give you the maximum battery life.

When you say stuck in a bootloop, does that mean its stuck at say the sprint logo ? It takes a full 5 to 6 minutes on the first boot up !!! Make sure you use the stock kernel, then flash a custom one later.
If that doesn't work, you should have made a backup of your original stock rooted 4.4.2 NC5. Go to your recovery WIPE cache, delvike cache, and wipe system to install a new rom. Then restore the original stock rooted backup and boot the device. If it boots then go back into recovery wipe everything again and install the Vision-X zip again and boot it.
Sometimes after an AOSP rom like CM11, you have to go back to stock rooted and start again.

Yes here you go http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2472664 scroll down to old 4.4.2 NC5(D) click on show content. Download the Full Rom ODEX NC5 version. This is flashed through a recovery like twrp or cwm.
If you don't have a backup of the original rom that came with the phone I would go this way. First, here is a link for a complete stock 4.4.2 NC5 rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2712205 just click on NC5 and follow the instructions on the top of the thread. Then install the recovery look in post #3. Then root the device here is the link http://download.chainfire.eu/396/SuperSU/ this is Chainfires supersu v1.94.
Once you are back to stock rooted nc5, go to recovery make a backup to a ext sd card or use the internal sd card, then copy and paste the backup file somewhere on your PC. Now have base to work from, so if something goes south you can always get back to square one. With all the flashing I do, I end up recovering a backup at least a couple of times a wk or day if I'm trying something out. It's like system restore on a PC.

Awesome !!! Believe it or not, even with a perfect backup to restore from. Every once in awhile I will start from scratch and get a fresh stock copy of NC5, use Odin to install and get back to original official status. Then root, get rid of the bloatware, and make a backup just to keep things fresh. I have not upgraded to 4.4.4 NH7 and don't recommend it at this time. There are a lot of complaints of stuff missing or not working.
Besides, I'm rooted and flashing other roms. 4.4.4 only adds Kid Mode and some security updates, which are useless if you have a custom rom in the device.
Same issue
I am having the same issue with the bootloop sticking on the galaxy screen. I used CF autoroot to root my 4.4.2 stock. Installed Josh's KKKiller 4.4.2. Liked it but had some issues so went back to stock 4.4.2. Re rooted with CF. Installed AOSP rom but my phone needs stock voicemail to dl vociemail to phone. Went back to stock NC5 Odin. Went to reinstall TWRP and cannot install any but the latest 4.4.4 TWRP and cannot install any rom but a 4.4.4. I have re-stocked and re-rooted. I cannot even flash the stock? 4.4.4 NH7. Get the same error message from TWRP on all but Pacman, Liquidsmooth. Havent tried all the aosp but assume results will be the same. I would like to flash some 4.4.2 roms. Am I stuck?

No, just install the 4.4.4 twrp recovery that works. Boot into that recovery and wipe everything i.e. cache, delvik cache, and completely wipe system to install a new rom. Now from recovery boot into download mode. Then from your PC bring up odin and flash a fresh copy of NC5, I use micmars NC5 here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2712205 now this should take you back to NC5 stock. Then try flashing Philz CWM 6.12.9 hltespr here is the link https://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/hltespr/ it just seems to work better when you are flashing back and forth from AOSP . Just me I have beat that recovery to death and it has never failed. Make sure the first thing you do is make a backup after you are rooted, so you can always get back to square one. You should also have a backup of your efs file on your PC for safe keeping. Let me know how it goes.
I am currently on MJ4 jellybean (rooted) and I want to upgrade to NC5 for the wifi calling. Can I simply use odin V3.09 and install this tar and be done?
Download Android 4.4.2 NC5 Firmware for Sprint Note 3 SM-N900P [LATEST][Wifi-Calling]
Does this keep root or will I have to unroot my phone again after running this tar in odin?
If this is incorrect, can someone please tell me how to upgrade to NC5 from Mj4??? Thanks.

and this one

Well, I tried to install recovery first using the TWRP Manager app and when I choose reboot into recovery it will start to reboot and when it says "set Warranty Bit: recovery" (in yellow), it will not do anything. I then downloaded the 2.8 recovery tar file and tried to install it in odin and when I reboot into recovery it will get to the ""set Warranty Bit: recovery" (in yellow and still not do anything. The only way I can reboot my phone from there is to pull the battery, hold the power down, power and home button, then choose reboot phone.
How do I fix this problem??

So you Odin'd to NAB and took OTA to NC5 or did you go right to NH7?
In any event after Odin'g to stock reboot your phone and let it load 100% stock
Then put SuperSU214.zip to your SD Card
turn the phone off
boot to download mode
Odin Philz Recovery (I prefer that sorry)
don't auto reboot.
when its finished and passed, hold the boot to recovery buttons - the phone will reboot into recovery
flash the supersu214.zip (for root)
reboot phone and let it boot
you now have stock root
good luck

No, the only thing I have done was try to update TWRP from 2.6.3.7 to TWRP 2.8.......for some reason when I try and update the recovery it will not go into recovery, it simply does nothing after the ""set Warranty Bit: recovery" (in yellow) is displayed.
Do I need to update my TWRP recovery or can I just flash the stock NH7 tar in 3.07 odin?
Can I flash the N900PSPTDNH7 tar file in odin 3.07 with my TWRP 2.6.3.7 recovery and be OK???

Ah, you can't use the newer recoveries with older firmware/bootloader.
You'll have to just odin NH7, follow the steps I gave you and you'll be back at stock rooted.
It will be a good idea to wipe factory reset though, after booting 100% stock, boot to stock recovery and do that then turn the phone off and start the process of putting NH7 (you really should start 100% fresh because you're moving up 3 upgrades)

For whatever reason, I had to Odin twice to go back to stock.
Here is what I did:
1. Boot into recovery, wipe everything
2. Odin file, don't check automatic reboot
3. Once its done, pull battery, boot into stock recover, do factory reset
4. Reboot into download mode
5. Odin file again
This is exactly what I did and I received the update.
Edit - I used the original NAB image which was 4.4.2. It then automatically let me update via Sprint to 4.4.4, and then to 5.0
When using Odin, always make sure to power down your phone completely and then press and hold volume down, home and power at the same time. Then press volume up to confirm download mode.

I actually had to Odin 5 times before it would boot the last time I went into recovery and wipe data and factory reset the Odin nk4 tar. It finally booted but still says system status custom so when I check for updates its a no go.
I was running rooted SPRINT KK 4.4.4 N900PVPUDNK4 and now I'm on Lollipop w/ root and TWRP 2.8.6.1 (4.4.4 version) recovery. My steps:
Time checked).
7. Pulled battery and rebooted into recovery (TWRP).
8. Flashed Chainfire's UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46 and rebooted.
9. Successfully rooted.
Is there a way to download the update and just flash it in stock recovery?

thnks , but i already have NK4 . looking for lollipop 5.0 tar file.
I just got myself a note 3 for sprint, and it had the OC5 Lollipop update on it. I flashed CF-Auto-Root on it, and it booted up fine. Used it for a bit, and then I tried putting TWRP on to flash Xposed Framework. TWRP flashed fine, and worked fine, but now the phone will not boot into the stock rooted rom. I have tried flashing the factory image again, that didn't fix it. Even tried flashing a kitkat factory image, and that didn't work either. The only way i can get the phone to boot into the OS is if i run a custom kitkat rom, and then everything seems to work fine. So where can i go from here to get the factory lollipop rooted with a custom recovery working?

I'd say go back to NK4 and then accept the update to OC5 and root.
You'll need these files, please thank the OPs of the threads.
NK4 tar from [Odin] Mirrors for Official Samsung Tars for MJ4, NAB, NC5, NH7 & NK4
twrp-2.8.6.1-hltespr-4.4.img.tar from TWRP hltespr page
UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip from [STABLE][2015.02.13] SuperSU v2.46
Copy SuperSU zip file to your sdcard.
boot to recovery and factory reset, wipe partition cache and dalvik cache.
Then power the phone off from recovery.
Boot to download mode Volume Down + Home + Power ... then Volume Up.
(from the OFF state, booting into download mode from a ROM or recovery never works correctly when using odin)
Using Odin 3.09 flash NK4 tar, let it reboot, it will take it a while to start the first time.
when the phone restarts, unplug the usb cable.
you can skip all the setup stuff and then get the ota to get back to OC5; Settings, System Update, Firmware Update
once ota is completely done, power the phone off
go into download mode
odin the twrp tar (uncheck everything in odin)
once odin says pass unplug the usb cable and press Volume Up + Home + Power until the phone vibrates and you see the blue writing - this will get you into recovery w/o having to pull the battery.
flash the SuperSU zip file.
reboot to system, you should be on OC5 stock rooted.

Just did the install over OA6. It worked out with no problems and rooted via TWRP. Just remember to power down before running Odin or you won't get the full update. Thanks for posting the file.
Flashed in Odin over OA6 stock deodexed (didn't wipe). Works fine, didn't have to reinstall any apps. Rooted through TWRP with no trouble.

Has anyone flashed this over the OD3 De-odexed version?

There isn't one that I know of. If you tell TWRP to reboot the system, it will ask you if you want to root the phone if it detects that it isn't currently rooted.
You would need to install busybox separately from the play store.

This did not work.
I did an Odin of OG1 over OD3
Most seemed to be good but broke Data and Wifi/Internet
Even tried doing a factory reset and activation and wifi/internet would not work
Had a TWRP backup so I restored that
Odd thing is I'm on OD3 with the OG1 modem and everything seems to be fine -- go figure
I'll wait until I hear more results from other people or maybe a newer revision - OD3 is working fine for me

Ok if your on of6 you can still run Moars.
And you can also with this rom. I'll post instructions when I get home about 2 hours. You have to flash twrp.img in odin
After flashing this. But you can't reboot during the 2 flashes. Must odin both from a powered off state both times. After flashing twrp. Img power off the phone by pulling battery. Boot into twrp recovery. Then from in recovery hit reboot. And it will ask if you'd like to root the phone you choose yes.
Then upon reboot you'll be Rooted. Next download Moars. Zip and flash Moars in your twrp (custom recovery). Tada
I'll get you the files if you can't find them when I get home.

og1 FULL ROM
here the links to Odin 310.6 (thanks to tdunham for the files)
twrp.img are the 2 files
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=15340
odin this( rom AP slot) from a battery pulled powered off stat
make sure auto reboot and reset time is unchecked in odin
when the screen says pass Dont reboot.
unplug it and pull the battery and put it back in download mode manually
the flash twrp.img file in odin also ap slot (again make sure auto reboot and reset time are unchecked in odin
when it says pass. reboot directly to your custom recovery you just flashed.
hit the reboot button once recovery opens at that point it will alert you that you aren't rooted and would you like to obtain root. say yes. and it will reboot( Rooted with custom recovery). from that point you can flash moars through recovery or what ever custom rom you'd like.
Interesting looks like firmware...i.e. OD3, OA6, OF6, and now OG1 which are firmware in contrast to MOAR... which is considered a ROM...meanwhile thanks for your assistance...waiting for MOAR to boot
