My peel app updated directly through the app itself, not play store.

I've installed IMDB long back. the version in my phone now is 2.60, but when I checked on the play store it is 3.11. Why does the play store doesn't show an option to update to the latest version? Does versions vary with devices?
Recently i updated my phone and my play store alongwith my play services app was also updated .earlier play store used to work perfectly but now it shows black background behind all icons (apps and different sections). I uninstalled the updates and everything became correct but again when i open play store it get's updated and the problem persists.
I have uploaded the screen shots of both new and old versions.
My Nvidia Shield Android TV 500GB is unlock and rooted. I did install full custom Android 1.8 rom and went back to stock but left bootlocker unlock and rooted. Now my box is updating to the latest Google Play Store app the the latest version which is for the phone.
Nvidia Shield Android TV has "Leanback" Google Play Store v5.5.15 but now updating to Google Play Stor v5.8.11
Can someone help me to stop it from updating?

In the play store, there should be a list of settings specific for the app. The top option in my device is Auto-update Apps. Have you tried disabling that already? I'm honestly not sure if this would prevent auto-update of system apps such as Play Store. I just figure that's worth asking just to eliminate a step for someone who might know better.

I'm going to do a full restore because I don't know how to replace a system app.
Then I'll give your advice a test run and see. Thanks for the reply.
Since AW2.0 supports Google Play Store , the Play Store on the mobile phone didn't show "Support Android Wear" logo anymore, but I'm still using the factory AW1.5 M1D65S , which doesn't have Play Store on it.
How can I know whether a app supports AW and install now?
Hello Guys! Today, I opened Google photos app and it said to new version available update the app and it took me to playstore but in playstore it says the app is up to date. I checked from apkmirror and i seen newer version which is not available in playstore. I Installed the photos app from apkmirror.
Can i update the app automatically from playstore as i installed it from apkmirror and i also seen a newer playstore version in apkmirror. Can i install that? Does the other devices receiving faster updates than our device? Why there is a version gap in our device and in apkmirror?
Today i also received September update. How many of you guys installed it. Are there any changes or is it the same security updates we just receiving?
if you are not beta tester, playstore wont show those apps! also many apps are market based! perhaps playstore is not offering that particular app to you at that time and place!
