Can anyone post a twrp backup of stock kitkat 4.4.4?

It is, but the collection doesn't include the 4.4.4 AT&T nandroid.
The nandroids are primarily intended for carrier variants that (for so long) did not have access to RUUs. Every AT&T update has had a corresponding RUU, so you don't see many stock nandroids posted.
RUU may just be easier than hunting down a stock nandroid. Although it depends on what the OP intends to do.
I will see if I did a backup before I thought I did but my luck doubt it.
I know why I posted that link. I didn't see any service. I appologize
Thanks for the responses, I was trying to get back to stock so that I can s-off. I tried the ruu but for some reason it won't run on my PC. Ive read around the forum and people have had this same issue but I couldn't fix it.

I wasn't stock when I s-off well I was rooted but stock rom. 5.0.2
Also with that link just search what your Cid is via fastboot commands and download the according backup file. Isn't that the same thing.?
I'm really trying to get more into helping and knowing so please don't hate me If I'm wrong just help correct me. )
Example for me I'm att cw101. So under the Nandroid TWRP backup area look for the cw101 and download file
I read that you should be as close to stock as possible and I like a fool forgot to copy my nandroid backup of my stock rom to my ext sd card when I re unlocked my bootloader. So you were rooted and on stock rom?

Don't quote me. I was seriously having issues because my cid said one thing and the ruu I was trying to use said another.
I would wait for another opinion I'm a noob helper
Thanks

So my question is Nandroid backup the only way to go back to stock. Can you do a ruu
You can definitely use RUU to revert to stock. My PC was having issues running the RUU so I was just trying to restore a nandroid backup of kitkat 4.4.4. I

The nandroid collection thread you linked doesn't have the version the OP is looking for (4.4.4) I already said that. It only has 4.4.2.

Win8 usually causes more issues with RUU than Win7. If your Win7 PC didn't work, it may have been due to USB 3.0 being present (known issue) or a driver issue (very common).
What PC will/will not work is pretty random. My work laptop (Win7) works with no problem. My home PC (also Win7), I needed to uninstall HTC drivers and use "generic" Android MTP drivers to get everything (fastboot, adb, access to internal storage) to work.
It's an alienware area51 7500 (before dell took over) so it's all possible but every thing else worked fine I could connect transfer use adb perfectly. Ruu was only issue

Again, its not the version the OP wants. Android 4.4.4 = software 3.xx. The thread only has 1.xx and 2.xx softwares (4.4.2 and 4.4.3).
Not trying to be contrarian, so hope it doesn't seem that way. I know you mean well.

Yup, understood; and there is nothing wrong with that.
Just trying to point things out, since that is how you will learn.
Its possible that the 4.4.4 nandroid (that the OP wants) is buried somewhere in an existing thread. But I can't recall seeing one posted in the top post of a stock nandroid collection(or similar type thread). The OP's best bet is probably someone to post the nandroid here (and that is what he is asking for).
I could RUU back to 4.4.4 (possible with s-off), make a nandroid and post it. But I don't have time to do that for a while due to kids and business travel. And it would be a significant effort, since then I would then have to RUU back to Lollipop, install TWRP again, and restore back to my current setup. Lots of steps.
I downloaded the 4.4.2 last night. I was on 5.0.2 s-off unlocked rooted. After process was done it asked me if I wanted to install su. I did booted up rooted. What I can do is what you spoke of. I can update to 4.4.4 and then factory reset to get my stuff off and upload. My connection isn't the fastest for upload so it would take some time.

After you update to 4.4.4, in TWRP, I think you can select to just backup the boot and system partitions (and don't select data). Then the nandroid shouldn't contain any personal data, and save you from a factory reset (if that helps at all).
Yeah that would help. Lol

I want, and need to unroot my phone because, it drops wireless connections, it doesn't like connecting to routers, and I need to send it back. Right now its rooted with Cyanogen and ClockworkMod. Can I just reflash the stock Android 2.1 by AT&T, and uninstall clockwork, and unroot it, then reflash and reroot at a later time, or will this update it to an unhackable state (like xbox sysem updates) please let me know before I ruin anything.
I'm thinking of doing the same thing. I will restore my nandroid backup from my SD card and then use the stock ROM RUU from shipped stocks dot com. It will replace everything including the clockwork recovery. You need to restore the original nandroid image or the stock ROM will not identify the right signature and region thus not allowing the flash.
Good luck

Not to be a jerk, but just search for it. There are atleast like 4 threads I can think of that give step by step intructions on how to unroot.

I never had to restore the original nandroid image; sure it stated for me that it had no clue what it's looking at (lol), but it still identified the phone itself as Aria/Liberty and flashed the original shipped image.
im trying to help a user restore a stock t mobile phone. weve tried the recovery linked inthe regular one and t mobile sections(both images are md5 04541031ee82ab95598b3cfbd019ad9c)
we need someone who is unlocked and rooted, yet not permantly flashed recovery to dump the stock one for us. you can simply boot recovery(fastboot boot recovery.img) and make a nandroid, then extract the recovery image,or within the booted OS you can :
adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p34 of=/sdcard/mmcblk0p34
then when its finished,
exit
exit
adb pull /sdcard/mmcblk0p34
the image will be in your adb/fastboot folder to upload.
reply,or shoot me a PM if you can be of assistance. again- you must have the STOCK reovery installed, and be using a t mobile usa device.
thanks

test it but my one is on its way back to tmo. However I was thinking about this earlier. My nandroid was after I unlocked so it had the specific apps removed from unlocking like flashlight and calculator etc. Maybe if those were replaced tampered would go away. Just a thought.

thanks very much for the info.
sorry about your sd card. i had no idea that would happen or i would have warned you. seems tho lots of things cause the internal sd to be wiped- ive noticed runnign RUUs has this affect also. if this is a fluke i hope they fix it. if its not its a feature i dont care for.
did you try relocking and doing a factory reset? (both of those will wipe your sd ) i think of putting the stock recovery back is to make tampered go away, those things may be needed.
if you dont want the hassle of relocking and factory reset right now,i competely understand. if anyone else tries it please report and thanks again for flashing for us. it did flash back an apparently working, functional stock recovery, correct?

pretty much anyones nandroid is going to be after unlock, not much way around that. if the missing apps and such are a factor, sounds like we may need to find a way to put them back. or a stinkin RUU
im fairly certain that in your case, tampered stayed becasue the phone did not recognize the stock recovery as its own. for all practical purposes,it could have been CW to the phone
but its quite possible that banner will stay regaurdless what we do,short of running a full ruu(wich will put back the missing apps and such)
Thanks for this!
Alright, I have a problem. I unlocked my bootloader, rooted, and had twrp installed. I've flashed back to a stock unrooted T-Mobile .7 ROM. I locked the bootloader just fine.
I cannot update with the latest t-mobile OTA. It boots me back to the bootloader with a Security Warning. I've tried to flash the recovery.img listed in the thread, but it just keeps giving me a signature verify fail.
All I want to do is get this thing back to OTA'ness.

well, my first problem is I should have checked to make sure I have root. I'm really not sure at this point. I do have the phone unlocked via HTC. I then downloaded SuperU. I am also running TWRP, and can manage to get there occasionally. I have tried side loading and was successful with a couple of roms but they won't work right. I keep getting the error that the sustem UI has crashed. I'd like to get the originall RUU, flash it somehow, and start all over. Can somebody please help. I'm pretty good at this, and this is the first problem of this sort I have ever had. Thanks - Larry

I dont think there is actually, from quick search i did...ill probably post completely stock twrp backup non rooted...and recovery for those who need it
TL;DWR: I want to go back to absolute zero and revert my phone to factory. I'm new to android and just followed a youtube video guide to root and unlock boot loader and now don't know how to go back.
Hey guys, I am completely new to android and have been with iPhone for about 7 years so please forgive me for my questions as they are elementary in comparison with the topics that are typically discussed on here.
I decided to switch it up and try an M8 cause the build quality and screen really excited me so I sold my iPhone and made the switch. I was in absolute love for about a week while on stock. Just learning android and all it's small quirks was fun for me.
but now, I have the phone up for sale, I'm amazed at how convoluted it is just to return to stock after rooting and roming. I spent 6 hours last night with a phone that wouldn't boot and just hang at the opening htc one opening boot animation.
I installed TWRP, unlocked the boot loader and used Hassoon2000's all in one toolkit to root as well. I used this video posted on the toolkit thread on here to help guide me.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Krw6H4gQ6g0&feature=youtu.be
I followed the video to a tee with some stops on my side cause what he said in the video didn't always happen on my end, so I would unplug my phone and plug it back in and continue where I left off until the whole process worked. It's at the very end when he used twrp to reboot back into his "normal phone" that my phone just hung on the HTC boot animation.
I have all neccasary drivers and software installed to run this the toolkit and still received the "error: no device found" from time to time when using the kit. so you can imagine all the hair I pulled out coming from jailbreaking an iPhone with one click to trying just to root my device to disable ads and not can't even use my phone.
after some digging to find what I thought what supposedly a stock rom/img/Whateverthenameis for my phone, I breathed a sigh of relief and flashed it using tarp adb side load option and it finally booted up. I now however don't have working Wi-Fi and some apps that came preinstalled on my phone are missing. I don't like and just feel like it's a buggy mess.
long story short, I just want to go back to absolute zero. all the way stock; I don't even care about keeping any root or unlock. It would be nice so I can adblock but I don't care about it if it will stop me from going back to zero.
Here are all the tools I used to ruin my android experience aka the tools I mentioned above:
Toolkit (thread): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2699065
rom/img/whateveritscalled that i used to get back into a buggy phone: http://www.androidfiles.org/?developer=M8&folder=StockRoms
video guide I used: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Krw6H4gQ6g0&feature=youtu.be
I ran all this on a Windows 7 64-bit desktop machine.

I think there was a shipped RUU for the M8 that could be used to go full stock, I'll see if I can find it.
RUU = Rom Update Utility, which was named that back in the old WinMo days. This would just be a file that you either flash thru SD via fastboot or thru your computer.

I just looked and couldn't find one. Would this be the only way to revert to stock from either a bad flash, boot loop or just plain want to be stock again. Word around was that there has been no RUU released for our device yet. There is a stock rooted TWRP recovery image on the Android Development forum but that's probably the closest you will get. I'm not sure if a straight up factory reset would do it or not, but you would need to flash the stock recovery as well. Overall a pretty drawn out process, especially if you are unfamiliar with adb and fastboot. You might have to wait for a RUU

It's pretty simple actually.
If you are using TWRP recovery, just place this in that folder on your SD card, boot into recovery, and hit "restore"
it will restore a stock ROM on your device.
Use the recovery version he mentions though.

Yea, android phones are a complete different world then that of iPhones. I was in your shoes a yr after the ip4 release. I didn't jump right in...I didn't flash or root my 1st phone for months. To be fair, not all android phones have difficult root/restore methods...most I've used were 1 click, same goes for jb programs. The only thing I can think of that iPhone had a slight edge was if you bricked from a bad app or jb...DFU and restore thru iTunes but then you worry about restoring to the new firmware...waiting for the next exploit and praying its not tethered. If iPhone is your thing...great but don't bounce from android after your 1st set back...it happens to all of us.

If iPhone is your thing...great but don't bounce from android after your 1st set back...it happens to all of us.

Yeah, luckily I went from WinMo to iOS, so I went from "if you flash one wrong file you're bricked" to "I cannot brick this device if I try"
coming back to Android was like the WinMo days.
Depends what you have too, my daily is a Nexus 5, pretty easy to do anything on it. Samsung are really easy too, you just Odin a factory tar no matter where you are for the most part.
But HTC is the difficult one, all these tokens and issues and hboot versions and patches etc...
You get used to it though, and then it doesn't seem so daunting...
In this case, these are things OP needs to know if he is going to mess with any Android phones, basic things like recovery and basic ADB / fastboot commands etc...

+Mikey Thank you! At the risk of sounding dense, is this a full RUU replacement for T-Mobile Sense 6, 5.14.531.1? I mean, it includes all the original files, recovery, boot, firmware, etc, and is not just an updater?

Thank you
how does one go about making this into something you can restore from a backup?
Does this wipe data? Or is it similar to an OTA, difference being you're just restoring a backup? Also, will this break root?

I had TMOUS stuck on 4.19x (that wasn't eligible for OTA) rooted, stock ROM, TWRP, and I followed directions in this thread, i.e., unzip first, place in TWRP, restore as backup from recovery and it worked perfectly for me- no wiping, no root loss, and One was updated to 5.31 with Sense 6.
If you have different variables, I don;'t know if it would work the same way.
I wish I had read this earlier in the treads. For the past couple of days Ive been trying to update my phone to Sense 6 but I couldnt because its rooted and I cant get s-off because Im on hboot 1.57. I'm gonna try to try this now Thanks in advanced!

Worked for me too, but i had to uncheck 'Data' when restoring in TWRP. Otherwise it'd wiped everything
Can I just flash the zip file without extracting and restore?
Is I rooted?

Can you use another hosting like billionuploads or firedrive? For some reason mediafire doesn't show me the captcha.
Can somebody host the file somewhere else please?

It did not break root for me
Massive thanks to you Mikey, I've been trying to get sense 6 via OTA and RUU for the past week but for some ungodly reason they haven't been working. Its been errors every step of the way. I tried to flash this at first with TWRP and that didn't work, but I then unzipped and restored and that did the trick. Again MASSIVE MASSIVE thanks
quick question does this backup update the radio as well, been trying to find the latest since my phone seems to lose data at random times. thanks
I am currently on ARHD 70.0 running 5.11 firmware. If I flash this through TWRP backup would I need to flash the 5.14 firmware as well? I recently moved to a place with total craps reception and desperate for T-Mobile WiFi Calling.

this is only the ROM, it will not change your firmware.

That's why I don't use any custom ROM with my T-Mo phones and always buy T-Mo branded phones - I live in a comeplete deadzone - and WiFi calling is usually one f the first things that go in custom ROMs. I used to wonder why other carriers didn't add theur own versions of WiFi calling since it still counts against the plan's minutes.
