[Q] LED Indicator won't stop flashing red - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Was wondering if anyone has seen this or has any ideas on what to check.
Basically, the LED indicator on my S6E is blinking red every time I turn off the screen. I do not have any notifications and checked any app i can think of to check if there are any floating around. I then went through and disabled notifications one-by-one for each app and checked. No good. Then i reset all my app preferences and still no good. Tried restarting but that didn't help either.
Only thing that turns it off is turning off LED notifications all-together.
Any ideas?
Thanks

What's your battery level when this happens? Mine blinks red when the phone has low battery. Super annoying because it only uses more battery, but I can't turn it off.

well, think i figured it out. it's based on the power saving mode. i threw mine to 50% because why the hell not.
once you hit that power saving mode threshold, the you start getting the red blinking indicator. and the fun part is, if i'm at 40% but my threshold is at 50% BUT i have power saving mode off, it will still blink. so that threshold is active despite the current status of power saving mode.
and i agree. super annoying.

It works on my Sprint Galaxy S6 Edge if I turn off the LED Indicator all together it will stop the blinking, But I agree if you leave it on whether battery saver off or on it still blinks must be something in he OS code that makes it remind you that the battery is low. Kinda strange but for now I will just turn off the LED indicator.
Thanks again for your input it was very helpful.

[Q] issue with gsb 2.5 rc 4 need help (simple)

Hello I am new to xDA and I'd like to say I am really impressed. With everything. From roms. Apps.themes.mods ect . Very impressed with gsb it is a incredible rom. My Droid Eris is awesome now although I am experiencing a small issue....when my phone. Is charging and I receive a txt and my led notification. Flashing green to tell me I got a text it will stop charging until I clear notificatin or read txt....how do I fix this?
Hmm, I noticed thw other day that the red 'charging' led stops when a notification (green) comes in. But I assumed that charging continued. Haven't had an opportunity to test it out.
Most of my led notifications are set to white (trackball) but I must have missed one. The Tball led works fine while charging last I checked.
Sent from my Eris ADR6200 using XDA Premium App
Charging stops when green notification flashes indicating I received a txt ànd stops my phone from charging. I did a complete wipe and reflashed gsb but still does it. My trackball don't seem to notify me of a txt

You need to go into settings->CyanogenMod settings->Interface->LED Notifications->Miscellaneous and choose the apps for which you want trackball notifications (by changing the flash color to white).
I'll have to try this. You are 100% sure that charging is stopped when this happens? The battery icon on the status bar stops showing charging? Settings->About phone->Status->Battery status shows "Not charging"?

Ok, I just changed my text messaging notifications to green, sent myself a text while it was charging, and it continued to charge.
Anyway, you can use the instructions in my last post to change all of your apps to white to get trackball flash, if that's what you want.
Hey man ur the best, worked perfectly! Awesome.
Another question....my camera has a crazy delay when I push to take a pic and. Eveñ the slightest movement. Causes a blur...is this fixable? Also my keyboard does a period at random and doès the long press function on its own resulting in characters. Such as some of the ones in this post as u can. Seé
I just noticed the same thing. The Orange LED turns off while charging when I get a text. But it turns back on the instant i press the red power button to wake my phone up to check it. I do not actually need to check the message.
I am sure it remains charging during this, but there is no way to check because it turns back on as soon as I activate the screen.

Yes, when I checked this earlier I had it plugged into a charger that turns off when the Eris stops drawing power (i.e., hits 100% charge). When I received a text and the LED was changed, it continued to charge. That's how I knew it was fine.

LED Light Glitch?

Whenever I turn off my Galaxy SIII in to stand-by mode, my LED light indicator stays on, and is a brighter white color, with some green and red, instead of the normal blue flash that it gives for notifications. It doesn't blink, it just stays on constantly. It only does this when there are notifications.
Anyone else having this issue?
You just answered your own question. If you have notifications, the notification LED will be on to tell you about it when the screen is off. Remove the notifications and the light will turn off. Alternatively, use Lightflow to get better control of the notification LED.
I am aware that the LED light comes on for notifications, however, it seems as though the LED light is glitches for this one situation. I have narrowed it down to Google+ as the reason for when it does this constant white light. It doesn't go off, the LED just stays white. I will just have to disable notifications for Google+. Thanks for your help!
light flow is verry good, i love it
try it out and cancel the notification if its annoying you
I'm with AT&T, my GS3 only show red led when it's in standby mode, most of the time it's red LED. I've never seen blue/white led show on it except during boot up I think blue or white lid up. What's red led mean? White/blue mean? Thx
Also the charging light is orange or red? But it doesn't seem to change to green when it's fully charge! I'll try again tonight to confirm! Only thing I did is root it with supersu cwm only everything stock! Is there something wrong?

hey i'm having the same issue. i have a verizon version and have turned off all led notifications inside the menu options (charging, low battery and missed notificaitons). i also tried clearing all notifications, rebooting phone, etc and this behavior still happens.
as for using the lightflash program, that's not really an option for the us phones as there is a bug in the app with the us versions of the phone.

i was able to fix my issue with a factory reset, but i haven't fully reinstalled all my apps. i am basically not reinstalling any apps that have to ability to prevent my phone from sleeping and have ability to control notificaitons. i have narrowed it down to 5 apps that may be causing this issue and slowly add each one back to see which one is the culprit.

[Q] Led notification observation...not reliable?

I know this was posted in other phone forums, but I decided to throw it out to all the Incredible 4g users specifically...can anyone tell me exactly how the LED is supposed to function? I know where and how to set up exactly when it's supposed to turn on, but how long does it blink? I sometimes think its not working, but now I think that it blinks for awhile and then stops...then starts up again, seemingly at random...and what causes it to stop blinking? On swiping the notification? On opening the notification? Just unlocking your phone and seeing the notification? I've done some tests, but not exhaustive yet...wondering how it's SUPPOSED to work.

the notification light should blink until you unlock you phone.. once coming out of sleep you will see the notification , whether on the lock screen, the lock screen bubble shortcut, the status bar notification pull down, just as soon as u turn that screen on and come out of sleep, the LED will STOP blinking since it see you have seen the notification since you awoke the phone.
I hope this helps.
there is a chance that the blinking light does stop after awhile, like say 15 min, i cant say for this phone yet, but will post back once find out..
but IMO i don't think it would stop until you awake the phone.

LED Issue

All of the sudden my LED is going from blue to green and fading in and out. I don't have any alerts, tried rebooting, pulling the battery but can't get it to stop. Any ideas?

Well I have had an issue a couple times where my alarm never went off in the morning and I woke up late to find the LED flashing through the different colors, I had to reboot and that fixed it. Have you rooted or used Tasker or done any modifications to your phone?

If you simply do not want the light, you can just turn it off in two places
settings->display (scroll down to bottom) Notification Light off
settings->accessibility Notification Light off
However, you are probably asking how do you clear the notifications that are causing the light. settings->Accessibility click on the Notification LED text section (not the on/off switch) and see what you have set to be blue and green. Then run those individual apps and clear their notification status from within the app itself (varies depending upon the app)

Thanks for your help but the only thing that worked to resolve this was for me to flash back to stock and restart. I have no idea what was causing this to happen.

Disable LED for low battery?

As many of you know, the led flashes red when the battery is low. It's driving me insane, and I can't find the setting to disable it. Is there any way to turn it off?
Thanks
