Hello
I am running 23b on my vs985. Is there a possible upgrade path from 23b to the official ota version?
I have backed up my phone using lg backup. I have the LG driver installed. I have previously kdz ed back to 10B and am aware of the process.
I dont have TWRP or bump or root of any kind.
Safely store your backed up stuff, then kdz back to 12b. Wait for the OTA to come knocking.

yes, thats what I was planning to do in case there is no other way. I looked at the other thread and tried the LG / VZW windows app and it did update my phone successfully to 23c.
Good. Same effect, but you skipped one .kdz load.

Hey Guys I have read that if you update to 11C people have been having issues going back to 10B. My questions is if I bump a stock 11c rom will there be any issues going back to stock through the LG flash tool...??

I took the OTA and got updated to 11C. I KDZ'd back to 10B without any problems.
His: HTC One M8
Hers: LG G3
Has anyone taken the 12b update yet and succesfully downgraded back to 10b, just wanted to know as I may be doing it soon.
Im all to used to not taking upgrades from owning samsung phones as they have made it almost impossible to go back after taking an update.

Yes you can downgrade to 10b with using the KDZ file.

Thanks, Ive already followed the guide for downgrading, just didnt want to take 12b unless downgrade was possible
Currently on 12B.
I understand I need to roll back updates but I can't find where a thread is explaining the process nor can I find the tool or files that I need to do this.
Any guidance would be extremely appreciated.

DO THIS..
downgrade the version by .tot method
for a succesfull downgrade in lg tool make shure you select the board upgrade option.
once downgraded just root, install twrp and flash the best rom you want

Just remember that OTA updates can be good and bad. If you are not into modding/romming but still want a stock experience I reccomend using the KDZ (easier) Method, flashing Jasmine Rom after downgrade/root/and Bump! recovery.

After I root with stump root, how do I get a custom recovery? Or does stump root install a recovery for me?

He posted a link to the custom recovery which is twrp. Stump is just rooting. Once stumped, you can install twrp which is bumped which means you can then install a custom ROM.

Hey guys. Just got a lg g3 off swappa. Just wanted some information regarding the current state of root/custom roms. Also...should/can I update to the latest OTA or is it only rootable up to a certain version? Thanks!!
dont take no ota's. if u r on 10b u can root and add a recovery by bump. if u r on a later software like 11c or 12b u can go back.

Thanks for asking that question! I also picked up a red one off swappa this week to play with., and wanted to know the same. Off to find the downgrade instructions, I'm on 12B.
Curious that you guys would buy a phone that's been out for a while, then look into root and roms.
Would have sucked if there was no way past a certain build.
Just a thought for the future.
All versions can be rooted ATM, iirc. Stump root only works on 10b. There is a different method using adb for other versions. You can downgrade backwards to 10b from all.
Latest ota is 12b. The 23a and 23b ROMs u may see are leaked builds and not official OTA.

I see a lot of I used this kdz, that tot file or I did my buddy's phone blah blah blah.
Is there a clear cut guide to downgrade from 23C to a 4.4.4 or 4.4.2 whatever the last pre LP version was??

Using TOT and KDZ is the only way to downgrade. When you say to the last LP version, 23C is the only lollipop update so you will have to go back to KitKat if you don't want lollipop.

Last PRE LP version. What files should I use? What order? Is there a guide anywhere?
