Hello all,
2 days ago I received my S6 Edge.. Awesome device. Really happy with it in fact.
As I always do with my phones.. I play around with them a bit..
Suddenly I noticed this weird loosen up front panel on the top left of the device.. You can hear it move a bit (like a click sound) for half a millimeter whenever I pressed firmly..
Does anyone of you have a similar issue.. or would it be limited to my device?
update: getting switched for another one. No others have reported this issue so far.
Just stop
This is in no way a joke..
It is being switched for a same S6 edge as I love the device.
I have spoken to some others and they don't have this issue.. so all will be fine. Topic can be closed.
Oh jeez. Here we go. Again.

Dont think anyone thought you were joking...but, when you start using # gate crap. You loose a little respect. Just saying

Hi all,
I had a big spot (3'') at the middle of my tab. It seems it is related to case warping and NOT related to temperature, etc. What I am describing worked for me and my tab now has a perfect screen (this is the 7th day).
I solved it by doing the following:
1) put the tab on a flat table. The screen should face upwards.
2) with two fingers push down at the top left and top right corner at the same time. You should try to "bend" the top corners towards the table. This will pull the screen away from the digitiser.
While you do this you should see the spot shrinking. If it does put some more pressure until it completely disappears. Don't put too much pressure to break anything
If, while you push, the spot doesn't shrink then stop and try the bottom left/right, perhaps your tab is bent there...
Hope it helps.
DISC:
I am describing here what worked for me... it might not work for everyone... don't blame me if it doesn't work or if it makes the situation worse.
Putting in the fridge less than 10 minutes works for me
Sending mine back to Samsung to have the LCD replaced worked for me. It's obviously a flaw in the design and the rush to get it to market without thoroughly testing it is the root of the problem.
Why on earth would you try to fix something like this yourself? You won't fix it, and its likely you will make it worse (battery damage etc)
This is why manufacturer gives you warranty, with gtab you have 2 yrs of it... I just send it few weeks without won't kill you but at least you will have fully functional device...

Mmmm Sure this helps?
I'm kinda scratching my head over all these fridge repairs for the Newton's rings problems. There shouldn't be a single 10.1 Tab anywhere on the planet that isn't in warranty. Just get it repaired/replaced.
None of the published fixes worked for mine anyway. Tried refrigerator, freezer, blowing, pushing, twisting, etc.
Verizon is replacing it. Just get it fixed right.
My biggest concern is the couple of reports of folks getting it back from Samsung and having the exact same problem reappear after 2 months. I am not sure anyone has conclusively confirmed an "improved" screen being installed during warranty service.
Could indicate the hardware is just fatally flawed for being subjected to heat >80F and any kind of pressure on the screen.
Keeping my fingers crossed that I get mine back with some sort of new and improved screen.
Works Like Charm
Tried this myself and it worked perfect!!! Thanks so much!!!
Hey, guys. I posted this in another forum & wanted to get fellow XDAers thoughts.
OK, so I've been following all of the threads about the Titan's not so great reception (data speeds, dropped & muffled calls, etc). I just picked mine up today & noticed right away at my house that the Titan was constantly going in & out of service while I was using it. Granted, my house isn't exactly the picture of great cell reception, but my Focus (and previous AT&T phones were never this bad).
So, WTF? Right?? Well, I remember watching a video review (I believe it was MobileTechReview) where they briefly mentioned how all the antennas & some of the guts that pertain to that are in the bottom piece of the phone's body (the darker lower half of the backside).
Anyways, I tested the theory & held the phone like I was normally doing (with my palm wrapping around the bottom half of the phone) & sure enough, dropping in & out of service like crazy. Then I "two finger" held it (just from the very sides of the phone) for a couple minutes & never went out of service. Not once.
Thoughts??

we had a similar thread before.
Open the back cover, check 2 pin on the bottom.
I never seen the grip of death. It is just people feeling when they suddenly get bad signal.

Hey everyone,
I noticed a small dark spot on the left of the pictures I was taking with the phone, and ignored it. This was about 2 months ago.
But just today, I turned on the camera and saw a large smiley face dark patch on the camera. iv tried cleaning it with compressed air, rubbing alcohol, restarting the phone, reflashing the stock firmware. Nothing is helping.
Im really really annoyed, for a phone so expensive why is it plagued with so many problems? Nothing is stopping me from tossing this thing and getting an HTC or something because I am getting a bit fed up with the pink spot, usb port problems, grey spot etc etc. Anyway, enough complaining.
For now, any suggestions?

I'll give you $20 for the phone.
Didn't realise this was a sale thread...
It's not. When people throw tantys along the lines of 'I'm going to throw this phone against the wall & get a <insert brand/model of phone here>', most people on here roll their eyes and/or laugh. And tend to ignore the person posting same.
Now...To your issue.
It may well be a physical issue with the camera/lens. There may be something trapped inside the glass covering the lens (maybe at manufacture), or it could be a scratch/blemish of some sort on the glass itself.
If it's that much of an issue, I'd send it in for warranty service. Obviously if it's an issue around a scratch or blemish on the glass covering the lens that has developed after you bought the phone, you might well have problems getting it fixed under warranty.
The other thing you could try (you didn't give us any info about rom) would be to go back to stock if you're currently not running stock to rule out a firmware issue, though you did say you noticed it two months ago & let it slide.
To me, that sounds like it's either a hardware problem with the camera/sensor or that lens/glass issue I mentioned.
I too got a spot on the top right hand corner if I use the camera, not otherwise. It's very annoying and now my s2 is NOT in warranty period. What should I do? The upper glass on camera is clean without any scratches.
Hi all, newbie here
Just received my shiny new S3 this morning and it's beautiful - haven't had a chance to power it up yet.
Thing is, I'm a complete OCD freak when it comes to my gadgets, and I've noticed that on each of the four corners of my handset (on the bezel) there are small lines that appear to be joinery spots, but I'm not quite sure. At first I thought it was a crack but then realised that there are small lines on each corner, which leads me to believe it is joinery and not cracks. The lines are not that visible but if you focus you can spot them.
Sorry to be so OCD but can anyone else confirm this?
Thank you
Yep, mine has the same. Never noticed before.
You b*****d!!! I have noticed it now!!!
I too have OCD........

Probly moulding marks
i noticed em on mine as soon as i got the phone! and i dont have OCD ! LOL.
crappy manufacturing process if you ask me! they could could have moulded it in one piece! should have been made out of metal... the bezel at least!

Saw it right from the moment of unpacking, too... and I don't have OCD neither.
But that barely visible and after a few days with the handset, I'm actually glad it's plastic and not metal... It's softer, warmer, and it will actually absorb shocks better, effectively protecting the screen a tad more. And it's moulded in one piece...Only the mould was not in one piece itself
I noticed mine today which led me here. Thing is i saw a post on the net and the guy had one just below home button and cpw changed the phone for him.
Same lines are on the Galaxy Nexus. I never saw them but my friend dropped his phone and thought he cracked it in those 4 spots. Then he asked me to check mine and sure enough, they were there.
Mine too...............
I have also seen those 4 hair line cracks/joints around all corners on my white S3 this morning. Because I already requested for return and refund from eXpansys-usa.com. so before sending then I want to confirm it, Is it normal?. otherwise they will laugh on me.:silly:
I think the 4 corners are normal, but the other random spots aren't. I ordered mine from Expansys-usa.com too. I don't have the random spots, but do have the 4 corners and they aren't like the one in the picture. They are hard to see unless you look for them. Like it's how the phone is put together.

Cracks in Plastic around edge on my Galaxy S3
I noticed a crack near where I plug the charger into the phone. At first I thought it was a seam where the plastic came together so I didn't worry about it. Now I have noticed that the phone has developed several small cracks around the edge (near the volume rocker and at the top corner.). I have never dropped it and have always taken care of it.
Today I did a quick search and found that this is a problem others have reported so I gave Sprint a call to find out what could be done. They said to bring it into the closest sprint store which is 70 miles away. The only other option they gave was to call Samsung. So I did.
Samsung said they could repair the phone but they needed to take my credit card info and would charge me if it was due to damage and I wouldn't have my phone for over a week! Needless to say I am beyond frustrated. I am a loyal Samsung customer... Have 2 galaxy s2 phones ( for my kids) a Tab2 and just got the Note 10.1. I am even considering upgrading to the note II when it comes out. I am completely concerned about the quality of plastic that they are using in this phone and am reconsidering my loyalty.
Guess I have to take it back to sprint when I am close to their store to get anything done without having to give a credit card or be phone less for a week! What a pain in the arse! Should I un-root my phone before doing this to avoid the inevitable "warranty" - issue?
Are there others that have noticed these cracks and gotten any resolution from Samsung or their carriers?
Mine has a crack

i was just wandering never dropped the phone so how could it break but i even saw it with a magnifying glass it is surely a crack
gotta complain samsung to use such a cheap quality product
So a couple things but my main issues is maps. I haven't found anyone with this problem yet. When driving the navigstion marker is constantly pausing. Maps is not freezing however. The marker just stops and stays stopped for like 5 seconds then catches up and tracks me for 1 second or 2 then stops again.
Another issue I've noticed as I have called for a replacement(I actually have had to call twice and have three lg g5's in front of me) is that when I got my first replacement the screen seemed kind of dull compared to my original. When I put the two next to each other i realized that it wasn't that it was dull but a bit yellowish. My original reason for wanting the phone replaced was because of maps, the button to eject the module was not flush and stuck out at an angle and the module piece itself was offset. This phones button and module piece were fine and so I called again and they sent out another one. This thrid phones screen has the same issues as well as the original issues from my first phone. I spent an hour making sure all the settings were the same and even ruined my screen protector by taking it off to make sure all phones were under similair conditions. I'm now not sure what to do. Should i call them up and ask them to send out a fourth one? This is becoming insane.
Would you have noticed the yellow tint if you did not have another sitting next to you? I noticed my battery eject button looked a little crooked when I read your post and pushed on it a bit and now it is flush.

M8, internet is filled with people having issues with G5. Before you say S7 fanboy i have mine pre-ordered already.
All these issues are making me want to cancel my order and wait for something else. I really want to give LG the benefit of the doubt but everytime i open up a webpage regarding G5, there is always someone having an issues of some sort.
I am beginning to think that all this QC issues are actually true and LG really dropped the ball with G5.
As for you question, Return it !! All these faulty units are being floated between customers without them being sent back to LG and thats why you will never get a perfect unit. Wait for something like Nexus 7 or HTC/sony heck even Mi5 Pro if you can get ur hands on one.
GL
Probably not. However, after seeing it I can tell without comparing it to another device. I had my friend come in and randomly show me one of the devices at a time and everytime I could pick out the yellowed ones. They also don't get as bright, it's not significant however. I feel that you wouldn't notice it until you see somone else's device. Then after that it will be all you can see. In the morning I'm going to test them to see if they also have the screen bloom and backlight bleed. If so then that just might be another side effect of the bad screens.
Ray,
I honestly wouldn't worry. The only place I see these problems being dicussed is here and it's not even a flood of people. It's pretty minor conpared to how many people probably have these devices in hand already. I still love this phone despite these problems. In fact, it's so far my favorite phone I've had in a while.
