Can anyone help me please. I have found that after I root my phone the smart remote stops working after a reboot. Has anyone same issue ???? and can anyone help with with this ???
For me does work. Try to remove it manual from system/app than delete "corpses" (use sdmaid). Than install smart remote from google play/galaxy apps
Me too
Smart Remote on my S5 is now running perfect.
I have also rooted s5 and it won't worked at first, after i connect s5 and tv manually over wifi-direct it worked.
Now i connect my tv over cable to the Internet and i get smart-remote connected without manually wifi-direct

Hi all,
Just wondering how to setup wi-fi direct? I've gone into the menu and enabled it, hit scan, but it doesn't find either of my 2 laptops.
Do the laptops have to be wi-fi direct certified as well or is there some sort of configuration I have to do to make them available to the phone?

wi-wfi direkt is disabled on newer devices by samsung.......... because they have problems with licenses
I use wifi direct to send files from my phone to my friend's phone (he also has the Galaxy S II). Works perfectly and is really fast.

So I guess both devices must be wi-fi direct certified, because my phone doesn't pickup my laptop at all (which is about 3 years old).
Intel Wifi dashboard
there is a programm called intel wifi dashboard , this program enables wifi direct on laptop and then your laptop will be discovered by GSII
WIFI direct is like a private network between your laptop and your GS2 or just 2 GS2 that enables you to transfer files up to 1 Gb in size in just 2 or 3 mins ( i tried it myself by sending a 730 mb wmv file ) without the need of setting up a wireless network
and obviously it's much more faster and effiecent than bluetooth
Has anyone managed to transfer files between Galaxy S2, Galaxy S3 and PC using Intel Dashboard?
I can get my Samsung SMART TV to detect my Android Phone

Okay, so I just rooted my phone and flashed a new ROM and it has Wifi-Direct option on it which basically, you just tick to enable and cannot configure. Since my Samsung SMART TV was wifi-Direct certified, I opened the Wifi-Direct Menu and it just detected my phone. It told me that I could either connect by pushing the Wifi-Direct Button on my Device (PBS Way) or by entering the TV-generated PIN on my Device( PIN Way). But I cannot see a "Enter the PIN" Notification pop up on my Android Device. Let me try a Third-Party App and lets see how it goes.

There's an app called Superbeam, that works on android, mac, windows and linux. I use it to transfer files between my Nexus 5, a Galaxy Tab2 and my PC. it works great.

Hi
I have a non rooted samsung galaxy s2.
I was able to set it as a wifi hotspot and then assess internet from my laptop and my wifes phone.
Yet today its not working anymore.
I manage to activate it on my phone - the devices did connect to my galaxy - yet they are unable to use the internet connection?
The only thing i think might be causing this is avast mobile security.
Has anyone had a similar problem
Yes ..you are right thats because of your antivirus..or else just to make your doubt clear you can go in computer wifi settings ..wipe all previous access point then try pairing with your device again or check your firewll settings.

Is there a solution for this?
Does this happen only with avast or with all other antiviruses?

I searched for it but i couldnt find any programs to control my phone from pc via usb cable. Can anybody help me?

AirDroid works well for some aspects.
Why do you want to do this? Have you broken your screen or just want to experiment?
AirDroid is nice indeed, to fully control the phone I found TeamViewer better though (they got a specific S3 app to have full control on PC), not sure if it is working via cable, over WiFi it works great.
Teamviewer quick support works great

I text a lot and sometimes i get tired of switching between phone and the pc so i thought it'd be good to control my phone from pc.
I tried AirDroid but it's not what i am looking for.
And I tried teamviewer app but it was so laggy, so i want to control it via usb cable. Bluetooth would be just fine too.
Thanks
Try My Phone Explorer from FJ Software Development, great application, you can do a lot of things from the application as send SMS using your computer, it supports USB connection and also WiFi.

I dont think google allows sharing apk over bluetooth , better use superbeam , Software data cable , or ES file explorer lan share(after connecting to same network)

Hi,
I was constantly annoyed by the poor wifi signal when I had my devices connected to the computer, so I wondered why I could not use my computer's Internet connection on the Android devices when they were already connected via a USB cable. Extensive Google searches only showed solutions that would not work at all or required the Android device to be rooted. That's when I decided to develop my own solution:
ReverseTethering NoRoot allows you to share your computer's Internet connection with your Android device via a USB cable.
Use Android apps that require Internet in places where you don't have or are not allowed to have a wireless Internet connection!
Your Android device's Internet connection is slow and unstable? You've your Android device already connected to your computer for charging, file syncing or app debugging? Why not use your computer's fast, stable Internet connection on your Android device?.
Features:
Use your computer's Internet connection on your Android device
Works with Mac, Windows and Linux
Works on all Android versions starting from 4.0
NO root needed
Easy set-up, no messing around with tons of command lines
The only way to have wired Internet on devices that do not support Ethernet
There is also a pro version with these additional features:
Connections longer than 10 minutes per 30 minutes
Get rid of the ads

PRO Version: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.floriandraschbacher.reversetethering.pro
Please keep in mind that this is the very first version of the application. There will be issues. Please report them below and I'll give my best to fix them as soon as possible. The app was tested on Android 4.1, 4.2 and 6.0, but it should work on all devices running Android versions 4.0 and above.:fingers-crossed:
Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions! Any feedback is highly appreciated !
I just released version 1.0.1 with these changes:
Improved speed on older devices
Bug fixes
Great
looks cool , gonna check it

Hi,
Thanks for your feedback
As I've mentioned in the app description, some apps do not recognize ReverseTethering's connection because they only look for a Wifi or 3G connection. This is not an issue of ReverseTethering, but of those third-party apps. If you want to use ReverseTethering with such a third-party app, please contact the respective author of the third-party app.
As a side note: This incompatibility of some third-party app is nothing specific to ReverseTethering NoRoot, but applies to all reverse tethering solutions.
Thanks for the app.I will give it a try and send you my feedback.

Hi!
Is the server program running? Does it say it detected the device?
This app works fine on Android ICS. I am able to access full internet. I managed to download apps from google play . There is an Xposed module (HackserviceConnectivity) which fools the apps that they are connected to wifi or mobile network. Device needs to be rooted though. But I cant tether the tethered internet. I need to tether he tethered internet via WiFi tether but it is not working. unable to access the internet. Any idea?
please give me a link to download reverse tethering server application,as the program needs this running in windows.

On my Galaxy Note 8 (JB 4.1) and Galaxy S4 (JB 4.3), sharing the reverse tethered connection via wifi tethering worked. Please note I switched the device to offline mode, then connected reverse tethering, then started wifi tethering. For starting wifi tethering, I used my app FastFileTransfer (link in my signature), because the System UI does not allow enabling wifi tethering when in offline mode. Being in offline mode might have been essential, so just try if it helps.

The windows program is available here: http://fdmobileinventions.blogspot.com/p/reversetethering-server.html. Let me know if you need further help setting it up.
OP, add a copy of the free app at the end of the thread. People would find that interesting. Good job!
