are the dual edge seperate resolution like the note edge or are those combined with the main screen = 2560x1440?
The whole screen is 2560x1440 with a slight bend on both sides.

And I mean in terms of square inches? I for the life of me can't find height and width of 3.5 inch and 4.3 inch screens.
I suspect, even though diagonally, it is only .8 inch longer, the surface area could be as much as 50% more.
someone pls do the maths.
Well, your guess is pretty much spot on. Assuming same aspect ratio between screens, the 4.3 inch has 51% more real estate than the 3.5 inch.
4.3 / 3.5 = 1.23 (scale factor)
1.23 squared gives you the surface area scale factor = 1.51, or as a percentage, 51% larger.
The GS II has a 2.2" x 3.7" screen giving it an area of 8.14 square inches.
A 3.5" diagonal screen could have an area of nearly 8.9 square inches if it were square, or 3.35 square inches if it were 3.35" tall and 1" wide. You can't calculate the area of a theoretical screen with the diagonal measurement alone.
Its all theory in practice its just a bit bigger as is the phone compared to SGS 1 side by side or held .
jje
((4.3 * ((4.3 / 800) * 480)) / 3.5) / ((3.5 / 800) * 480) = 1.50938776
so it's 50,9% larger
iPhone 4 (3.5 in):
326 ppi
960 height, 2.94 in
640 width, 1.96 in
5.76 square in
Galaxy S II (4.27 in):
218 ppi
800 height, 3.67 in
480 width, 2.20 in
8.07 square in
8.07 / 5.76 x 100 = 140
i.e. The Galaxy S II's screen has 40% more area.

+1 diagonal "length" is a poor predictor for screen area. This gave me a huge headache shopping for monitors, some 24" screens turned out "smaller" than 23" ones.
Hi guyses.
Is it possible to use the s-pen from galaxy note on galaxy s2?
I would love to use a pen like it's used on the note.
Looks totally awesome.

Samsung Galaxy Note – 5.3 inches Super AMOLED Capacitive touchscreen display
Samsung Galaxy S II – 4.3 inches Super AMOLED Capacitive touchscreen display
Both the phones uses the same technology i.e., the Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display for which the Samsung has got critical acclaim though the display of Galaxy Note is on the larger side which stands at 5.3 inches in height providing 285 ppi pixel density and with a maximum resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. When you come to Galaxy S II, it has 4.3 inches Gorilla Glass display with maximum resolution of 800 x 480 pixels at 217 ppi pixel density.
Both the phones have Gorilla Glass display with multi-touch input method provided with various sensor technologies like accelerometer for auto rotate, proximity sensor and gyroscope.

All that is the same, but the digitizers are different. Which is why the s-pen for the Note doesn't work on the i9100.
Hi Guys
I'm thinking to get Mega 6.3" to replace my Tab Plus 7" reason being Mega 6.3" is more portable and screen size quite close to Tab Plus 7". But talking about screen size, the overall width of Tab Plus is 122.4mm and Mega is 88mm, and the width of the screen of Tab Plus is already 90mm which is wider than the overall width of the Mega , I wonder how wide is the width of the screen of the Mega and how is the web page viewing in portrait mode compare with Tab Plus ? Is the Mega browser’s font optimized in portrait mode and not too tiny when viewing full page ? Can anybody compare or has a screenshot of Mega’s browser view full page in portrait mode? Thanks.
I brought my 7" tab plus to the show room and compared it with Mega 6.3, although the Mega 6.3 screen is 0.7 " smaller then the 7" tab plus, but because of its HD display , the font on screen is much shaper then the tab plus. when viewing full screen web page, I can see the tiny words on Mega screen one arm length away but couldn't' see the 7" Tab plus wording at all. So my decision is clear.
I own both. And I use Opera browser on both.
The fonts are totally adjustable.
The Chrome and stock browsers, and I cannot get the word wrap to work.
But the opera does just perfect.
Now, I'm putting my 3100 up for sale because of the pocketability.
Good luck
Ps........ I'm sorry. I have the 7" tab2 gt-3100

Its that time of (every second) year when my contracts up for renewal so i'm full on obsessing about the new rumours around these phones. Im a big media consumer so the bigger the screen the better and currently rocking an s6 edge plus which i love apart from the hardware buttons.
The note 8 has just a 0.1 in larger screen that the s8 plus and i'm hoping for 4k screen and smaller bezels if possible
The V30 looks great and there's talk of round edged Amoled screens (about time) but will these be plastic and not gorilla glass?
Liking the full display look of the iphone 8 but i cant help wondering if it will have big ass bezels as all the screenshots and mockups look like that
fingers crossed there'll be quad dac in one of the above but ive lost hope on stereo front facing speakers
what are your thoughts?
