Hello!
I am desperately trying to root my Verizon Galaxy S4. See additional system info below. I have tried TowelRoot, Framaroot, and Kingoroot (APK and Windows version). Please help me root this phone. I recently broke contract with Verizon and them manipulating and controlling what is my property (I paid for it) is driving me crazy! Would prefer not to have to wipe my phone, but at this point I am desperate.
As well, I am a Mac user and currently don't have access to a Windows computer to use Odin. I got lucky to have to opportunity to try Kingoroot (Windows) but is not easy for me to get. Can someone please help me root this? Ideally, without needing a windows machine, but if necessary (with time) I can find one.
If this can't be done without Windows, then I would like instructions for rooting with Windows but would appreciate an answer on why all the tools to root Android phones are compatible with Windows only and never Mac. (Sorry, as a mac user it's very frustrating).
Thank You In Advance!
Manufacturer: Samsung

assuming that you're on stock OF1 with OF1 bootloader, there is currently no way to root it, OC1 was a hit or miss with Kingroot, ganna have to wait it out until they found a way

Not the answer I was hoping for but thanks for replying quickly and giving it to me straight. I know I cannot revert to KitKat, but is there not an option for me to revert back to OC1, then root?
Also, what's the best way for me to know when they find a new exploit for OF1? Should I just monitor the news page of xda-developers?
Thanks again
ON Muniz's [How-To] Update to I545_OF1 - 5.0.1 and KeepRoot he does have a I545_Downgrade_tC1.tar listed that he stated is untested for OF1 updated via OTA. I belive there were a few people who said they tired, but said they got softbricked.
probably check the fourms once a week or something
Hi all
I got an Atongm H8 phone. It runs Android 4.4.2.
I tried rooting it with Towelroot, Framaroot, iRoot, and a couple of others, but none of them work.
Are there any other alternatives for a 1 click root without a PC?
Thanks!
Hey all got a note 2 on Verizon and I wanted to know if there is any other way of rootong this phone besides ghettoroot its on 4.4.2 or any way at all to downgrade to 4.1.2 please any help would be appreciated
You are stuck with KitKat and ghettoroot, I wish I would have read up, before I went from 4.1.2 to 4.3.

Get use king root!
Download: HERE
What's wrong with ghettoroot? It works. Just rerooted stock 4.4.2 after going back from still brokem CM12.1. Trick is to temporarily disable Windows realtime virus protection and root before connecting to internet and installing Samsung security policy updates.
I have an ATT Note 3 that was on 5.1, but I downgraded to 4.4.4 to see if I could get it to root. I have tried all of the available rooting options (towelroot, KingRoot, KingoRoot, iRoot etc) none of them work. Towelroot gives me the standard modstring error that I tried fixing with available codes, but that didnt work wither. So , my question is how do I work around the fact that I cannot get my phone to root and then do I need to unlock the bootloader or should I be able to install Safestrap after I get it rooted so I can load my ROMs? What other options are there for rooting the phone at this point?
Any help please!
thanks muchly

You need to bring it back a lil more to 4.4.2 and towleroot will work, that's what I did 4.4.4 wouldn't root. Now I'm rooted, supersu, safestrapped, dont use twrp itll softbrick your phone . I haven't installed a custom rom yet to be honest I like 4.4.2 overall appearance and os . get your ap bl cp from droidveiws watch the ap while downloading it has tendency to fail or interrupt. Watch the 1st night after you do it all itll try to update the OS so shut off your wifi mine tried I woke up to it but my battery was low so it stopped the upgrsde. Lucky. Next is to get that bootloader unlocked.
I'm trying to find a way to root an ANS UL40 running 7.1.1 android for free. Can anyone help?
I tried: RootMaster, iRoot (This worked very well for my CoolPad Rogue), One Click Root, and KingRoot (This worked wonders for my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0).
Also I have Odin but I don't know how to use it for this model.
