Thats faulty firmware bad flash or an app causing problems .
Full wipe and revert to stock first .
....................................
Clean Slate for those that balls up the firmware .Or need to return to service or decide if its hardware/firmware problem .
Backup data first if phone is working .
Boot CWM recovery
Mounts and Storage
Format cache data system sd card .
Remove battery
Boot to download mode
Open Odin
Install correct stock firmware .
jje
i did that but it still the same.... and how come when i try to wipe/factory reset i get an error
formattin /sdcard/android_secure...
error mounting /sdcard/android_secure!
skip format
oh and now my msg doesn't work zzzz
Try whit PIT file it wil work

nope doesn't work... omg............
I had a similar issue when flashing something with Mobile Odin went wonky. I was able to get into download mode and flash a stock firmware via full Odin but after that I was stuck at the splash screen. I solved the problem by booting into Samsung recovery (vol up + home + Power) and performed a factory reset there. I was then able to boot into the OS and start from scratch.
Follow the instructions and use mskip's toolkit.
It will solve your problem.

yeah ill try your method alex.. but atm i cant seem to flash anything, it freezes...sigh......im so stupid for not checking before i flashed......
It happens to the best of us. Where is it freezing?
i got it to work yay only one problem... its really laggy now takes 3secs for the screen to turn on after pressing the unlock button
suggestions?
can I somehow format the whole root folder?
okay.. so I got it back to stock firmware...
and these are my problems...
1.my messaging app doesn't work (unfortunately, messaging has stopped) when I install omega rom it works again for some reason
2. when the screen is off it takes about 5secs to unlock the phone and sometimes it doesn't even turn back on.. this happens both on stock unrooted and omega. had to pull the battery to turn it back on
3. it sometimes freezes(1 out of 3 times) on the Samsung boot screen
what ive tried.....
1. in CWM I formatted everything I could and flashed a stock firmware.
2.hard reset using the dial pad
3.reset using stock recovery
4. flashed omega
5. wiped data
I still cant get my phone back to normal.....
also ive tried 4 or 5 different stock firmwares and still nothing..
its really pissing me off..
any suggestions?

Bricked phone, Odin can't load the system.img

Hello.
I tried to flash stock XEO ROM to my S3, but while the whole process it stuck on loading system.img. Then when i tried to turn on the phone it shows me the yellow triangle and info that i can recover the system with Kies. But it also didn't work. I tried to flash other stock roms but it always is stuck in booting system.img
FIX:
I downloaded different roms and different ver. of android
Tried to flash several times with pit file and without but it was still stuck at system.img
I tried different ports and the result was the same
I changed the cable and reinstalled drivers and I succeed to flash 4.0.4 ver without pit file with odin 3.07
Have you tried flashing stock rom via ODIN?
Yeah, that's what I'm talking about I tried several times and it still doesn't work :crying:

Did you try install stock firmware with PIT file?
If you have 16 GB version of GT-I9300, you can try this PIT file (I tested on my device).
Odin 3.07 with PIT file;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2762337&d=1401023420
Download a stock ROM from sammobile, then put it to PDA. Before start flashing, press PIT button on Odin and select the PIT file, then press Start.
I decided to send my phone to service, when will it come back still bricked I will try it
Ok, I will get my phone back UNFIXED because they told me at the service that i have to pay for changing the firmware because my phone comes from other country.. I disagreed and told them to send my phone back.
I had an idea how to fix my phone and also some questions about that.
First, is there any way to full wipe my phone without recovery, I mean that i can;t access recovery on my bricked phone and i think that causes the problem with flashing any rom with odin (that the brokem rom i still installed and odin can' flash the new one over it). When I'll wipe the phone completely i suppose it might solve the problem. But does wiping the phone makes the phone unrecognizable for PC?
The second idea is kinda connected with the first one. I thought about flashing cf root with odin into my phone and as far as i know, it has its own recovery so i can easily wipe the phone with it and then flash the stock rom.
I know that my reply looks kinda messy but I hope you know what i mean.

Bump, need an answer to this.
up
Ok my phone is finally alive :cyclops: Here's the solution i figured out:
I downloaded different roms and different ver. of android
Tried to flash several times with pit file and without but it was still stuck at system.img
I tried different ports and the result was the same
I changed the cable and reinstalled drivers and I succeed to flash 4.0.4 ver without pit file with odin 3.07
I will add it to the first post for those who have the same problem, cheers :good:

i am seriously at a loss here and i have no idea how to fix it, can it be fixed?
Partition corruption, try flashing a full stock firmware with Odin then factory reset in recovery afterward.
Odin fails every time. I don't know what else to do
Try the rescue firmware with pit, search general thread. If that fails then emmc chip is damaged.

I've got same problem but with more complications. bootloop.
It started after using CM11 4.4.4 2014.0904 nightly with 2.8.3 agni's KERNEL.
Installation was fine. Everything worked perfectly until I played "real racing". (I just write it to explain all things precedent the failure.)
While playing and doing something more on another app in the background Phone made full restart and started to bootloop.
1. I tried to flash same nightly - it failed - couldn't format /preload partition. TWRP, CWM, Philz - all failed to mount /preload
2. I flashed stock rom via odin - installation was fine, but still bootloop.
My thought is a problem with gaining acces to /preload partition.
Shall I do a repartition of stock rom but with PIT file and full re-partition?

Odin fails on that too

Soft Bricked S3, NAND or partition corrupted?

-Bought a used S3.
-It enters dowload mode and recovery (CWM)
-If you turn it on normaly, it get stuck at Samsung Logo
-Tried to flash via ODIN but CSC, PDA, MODEM says
<ID:0/005> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/005> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)

-Tried to flash pit files and re-partition but I get stuck at "Get pit for mapping" or "No partion" (depending on the version of ODIN)
I think there's no solution, I've already searched a LOT around XDA and no one has a solution for this
So this is my last call before replacing motherboard (maybe eMMC chip is broken)
Please, keep in mind that I'm not a noob (or at least not that bad noob) and I've already tested ODIN with different cables, ODIN versions, pit versions, USB ports, different computers, no KIES installed, drivers unistalled and reinstalled over and over so this is not the problem.
More details
-The man who sold me this phone told me that he was updating by KIES and electricity went off in his house (It's possible that this is not true, don't have evidence to confirm this)
-Wipes by recovery don't work. Only wipe battery stats. If I try to wipe cache, data, system or anything else, recovery gets stucked or phone rebooted
-SD card is not recognzied in recovery. Can't make a backup or flash files to external SD card. Internal SD card can't be mounted.
-Format system, or cache or data by Mounting settings neither work. It freezes the recovery
-Saw that there is a method to recover Verizon S3 phones by a sort of factory image. Didn't tried in my 9300 interntional, but read a few people who said that method didn't worked on her 9300. Wonder if it's posible to make a factory image of 9300. (Here is the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2660566)
Try downgrading just the boot loader to BLFB, if that flashes then try pit & firmware together.
The age of this model means nand wear is becoming more common, so it might mean nothing will flash.

After a year or so I have tried to flash again my old i9300, but I'm stacked in the same problem! I have tried with Odin 3.12.3 with different PIT files, and also with Heimdall under Ubuntu... I'm not also a super noob (i have flashed several time this and other phones)
Have you found a way to force to rewrite the PIT file? the only mode available in my phone (i9300 International) is the Download Mode (i have broken even the Bootloader and the Recovery trying to Flash it )

Try again flashing twrp, but this time as soon as you click start in Odin to flash twrp hold the recovery combo and it should force it to boot straight to twrp. Also, as for flashing stock, try the UK BTU firmware U6.

i've tried updating my drives, with no success.
forgot to say, i tried cm.bin and sboot.bin and they are the only ones that flash, tried these 2 stand alone and they flash. However system modem etc doesn't flash. I tried pit files and they all flash. when i flash a pit file it reboots and i see samsung logo and it's just stuck there, until i reboot it in download. doesn't boot recovery ect
