Hello.
I tried to flash stock XEO ROM to my S3, but while the whole process it stuck on loading system.img. Then when i tried to turn on the phone it shows me the yellow triangle and info that i can recover the system with Kies. But it also didn't work. I tried to flash other stock roms but it always is stuck in booting system.img
FIX:
I downloaded different roms and different ver. of android
Tried to flash several times with pit file and without but it was still stuck at system.img
I tried different ports and the result was the same
I changed the cable and reinstalled drivers and I succeed to flash 4.0.4 ver without pit file with odin 3.07
Have you tried flashing stock rom via ODIN?
Yeah, that's what I'm talking about I tried several times and it still doesn't work :crying:

Did you try install stock firmware with PIT file?
If you have 16 GB version of GT-I9300, you can try this PIT file (I tested on my device).
Odin 3.07 with PIT file;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2762337&d=1401023420
Download a stock ROM from sammobile, then put it to PDA. Before start flashing, press PIT button on Odin and select the PIT file, then press Start.
I decided to send my phone to service, when will it come back still bricked I will try it
Ok, I will get my phone back UNFIXED because they told me at the service that i have to pay for changing the firmware because my phone comes from other country.. I disagreed and told them to send my phone back.
I had an idea how to fix my phone and also some questions about that.
First, is there any way to full wipe my phone without recovery, I mean that i can;t access recovery on my bricked phone and i think that causes the problem with flashing any rom with odin (that the brokem rom i still installed and odin can' flash the new one over it). When I'll wipe the phone completely i suppose it might solve the problem. But does wiping the phone makes the phone unrecognizable for PC?
The second idea is kinda connected with the first one. I thought about flashing cf root with odin into my phone and as far as i know, it has its own recovery so i can easily wipe the phone with it and then flash the stock rom.
I know that my reply looks kinda messy but I hope you know what i mean.

Bump, need an answer to this.

Ok my phone is finally alive :cyclops: Here's the solution i figured out:
I downloaded different roms and different ver. of android
Tried to flash several times with pit file and without but it was still stuck at system.img
I tried different ports and the result was the same
I changed the cable and reinstalled drivers and I succeed to flash 4.0.4 ver without pit file with odin 3.07
I will add it to the first post for those who have the same problem, cheers :good:

I was using odin to flash a rom and I knocked it off my desk and unplugged it in the process. It will still get to the download screen for odin and have tried to odin roms but they fail to install. The error usually is it can not mount or wipe : DATA. I have odin'ed CWM and can boot to that. I have tried every thing I can think of.
Any suggestions?
ouch. you may be able to fix this via heimdall but I'm not sure. have you tried resetting it to factory settings? maybe something with repartitioning? of course, you'll have to do the research.

Try to odin stock froyo with the PIT file and reformat checked. Might try it a few times if it fails the first. I got stuck on the modem once and it never went past that till I restarted it.
links as follows....
2.2 stock froyo (PDA BUTTON ONLY) - http://www1279.megaupload.com/files...d9dd20ca/CI500_VZW_EB01_FROYO_REL.tar.md5.tar
PIT file (PIT BUTTON) - http://download180.mediafire.com/09z19r6ojbwg/26xbh796jmwvwqb/atlas_v2.2.pit
Make sure your "reformat" box it checked.
Hi there!
I might need some help. After it froze 3 times because of instagram, i pulled libsurfaceflinger.so from system/lib because that caused problems to instagram. (it was used for crt off btw)
So after that, i restarted the phone, but it won't go past the S2 screen, not even boot animation. However booting to download mode or recovery works. I can't wipe because of the LQ5. I tried to reflash the bootloader, but can't seem to help.
Any idea? i don't really wan't to do a reflash with 3 a files firmware, that's just the worst case scenario...
thx

Flash a stock rom in Odin. Single file packages available here or with the PC version of Checkfus - search for it on here/Google; this will enable you to download the latest firmware for your phone model/country/carrier (there are also unbranded firmwares) that you'd normally get via OTA update.
I don't see how you have any other choice.

LQ5 has the brickbug... so I don't know if it's safe to flash a single file firmware over it... because if you wipe LQ5, it might brick the phone...
flashed single file LPO over it, and it seems to have solved the problem, the phone booted up
Hi XDA,
I got a S5830i from my friend to do a system backup because the custom ROM doesn't boot. I read that I have to do it with Odin v3. But there is the problem. I installed every driver, even KIES (It doesn't run) and the Odin doesn't recognise it. Only the Odin v4 can see it. So I tried with it and made 4 file from a tar.md5 file, it ended successfully but it doeasn't boot. I always get a bootloop with 2 different stock ROM. Unfortunately I can't try it with another computer because I only have a laptop which is run W8 and if I know it right, Odin need W7.
So my question is that why don't the Odin v3 recognise this phone?

Did you try going to recovery and wiping data and cache after flashing? I always have to do that after flashing with Odin, although I use Odin v1.85 or v3.07 for flashing. If you want me to attach them, ask me.
Press Thanks button if helped.

Somehow I solved it but I don't know how. I plugged the phone and ta-dam the Odin recognised it. I didn't do anything and now it's working. Finally I managed to get beck to the stock ROM so now everything is OK.
Thanks for the answer and maybe if you know why does it worked suddenly please write it down because I' m dying of curiosity. :silly:
A while ago my phone started to restart itself for no good reason. Then it got worse and it starts randomly resetting itself (factory reset). To solve this issue I tried to do a manual factory reset myself, and the problem persisted.
I can deal with these random restarts, but then one day as it restarts it got stuck at the "Samsung Galaxy S3" screen. I tried to do another factory reset in CWM and clear the cache, but it says "E:\cache\...." isn't mounted. As I investigate further it seems the reason that it can't boot might be because the memory is not mounted I guess?
I can boot into Download mode and CWM perfectly fine, so I decided to try to flash the Stock Recovery and Stock ROM through Odin. Connection between Odin and the phone was set up fine, but then it stopped at this error message "Complete(Write) operation failed." Flashing either stock rom and recovery yields the same error . It simply can't write to the memory it seems.
Now I'm stuck at this start screen. I've heard flashing a PIT file might be able to fix it, but I have no idea what that is.
Is the phone bricked? How do I fix this? Should I use the Rescue Firmware in this post? It would be great if anyone can help me since I have been asking for help on other forums but got absolutely no response...
GT-i9300
If you can boot to download mode you can try to use the rescue firmware. No, it isn't bricked because it still works
Thanks for the response! I'm going to try the rescue firmware, but I see that it says "KOR" on the file name. Is that referring to "Korea"? My phone isn't bought in Korea does that matter? Also what's the CSC thing it's talking about?
Your description matches emmc corruption/failure, so it is a software brick.
Follow the guide for the rescue firmware it doesn't matter about the country or CSC, but make sure you include the pit file.
If that fails to flash then it's time for a new phone.

I just downloaded the zip file, but it seems like it doesn't have a pit file inside. So where can I get that file? Thanks again.

There are two versions in the rescue firmware page 4.1.2 and 4.3 the pit file is in the 4.1.2 version and can be used on both.
Now I tried to flash them with Odin 3.07, it doesn't fail nor success. Instead it got stuck at "Get PIT for mapping.." I read that this might be a driver problem, but I've reinstalled my drivers, and I even tried all the usb ports on my computer. I've terminated Kies' process, but it's still not working!
What should I do to get Odin to write onto the device???

It won't write for a reason, the emmc chip is damaged.
Hello XDA,
I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Alpha and I've recently wiped the whole phone due to the custom ROM draining my battery. Now I have a huge issue. I do not have an operating system on my device and I have no idea how to get one. I've tried to flash the original firmware via ODIN, but it won't boot up. I can't transfer a firmware to my phone via sd card and install with TWRP Recovery since my phone does not support SD card. What can I do? Can I transfer files to TWRP via a USB stick that plugs into the phone or transfer files via USB cable to my computer?
I will be happy to provide more information if needed.
Thanks,
Vegar
Wipe all data on phone, flash stock
OR
Boot into download mode, flash latest twrp with Odin, reboot to twrp and pull battery after.
Well I'm not an expert but here's my idea how to fix it. Install adb on your pc and than put your phone in recovery and plug the phone to pc. If abd detect it (use adb devices) than you use adb push command to transfer ROM to your phone and then just install it. But if adb won't work than I can't help you. Good luck.
Hello guys,
Thanks for replying. I've already tried wiping left and right and reinstalling up and down without any luck. I have tried to use TWRP to install both the original firmware and two different ROMs. I have tried to sideload via ADB and install and it still gets stuck in a bootloop where it crashes on "Upgrading Android: Optimizing application x out of x". I have no idea what to do..
Thanks again,
VegarAndroid
Well, if nothing works then you could download PIT file and flash it with firmware in odin(with re-partition enabled ), but only if you can't do anything else. PIT should be the last resort
Hello,
Thanks again for helping me! Could you further explain how to do this? I think I've downloaded a pit file from Sammobile, how do I flash it with Odin?
I've never done it before but as far as I know first you have to download the pit file that matches your firmware version. Then you have to open odin click AP select your firmware then select pit in pit window and check re-partition in options and flash.
Maybe a stupid question but have you tried flashing just firmware (without pit and repartition)? If not then try this, it should fix the device in most cases, if odin display fail and in the log the last thing installing was hidden.img then extract it from firmware that you were flashing and flash it alone then reboot. After rebooting apps may crash all the time, so go to recovery and do full wipe.
I indeed tried flashing the original firmware with Odin, but it just ends in a bootloop where the phone restarts in the middle of the optimization of the applications. I will try to move over a ROM with ADB and then install to see if that helps.
Hi Vegar. I had a similar issue. I used Kies from Samsung for PC and in the menu there is something like emergency restore of the phone or something like that. It will wipe all data. But helped for me.
