wired game controllers (xbox, Ps3) - Possible?

Hi,
Coming from an Xperia play i didn't need this!
However having had a Asus transformer, i used to use an xbox controller to play games.
1. Is this possible at all on a S3?
2. Is this possible with this adapter? http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/mobile-fun-connection-kit-for-samsung-galaxy-s3-p35462.htm
3. With the adapter can we still use hdmi output?
What im hope to achieve is gaming using a controller on my tv all through my S3.
Would be awesome for portable Emulation.
Cheers

Microsoft are very annoying with locking down the controllers for example a 360 pad wont work on pc with out the wireless adapter. Is there any solid proof that android is going to pick it up and its going to work off the bat?
You need this to use 360 wireless controller http://www.amazon.co.uk/Xbox-Wirele...VAAQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1339420868&sr=8-1

No, but still may be possible to mirror the display while using USB OTG with the Allshare Cast dongle when it comes out.

Not possible, MHL and USB OTG are mutually exclusive connections at the hardware level.

That sounds plausable, and logical, only problem with that is forking out another 80quid or so!
Bit gutted as 9 thought there would be a dock where you could connect usb and hdmi!
None in the pipeline? Official unofficial?

OTG cable questions

Hi,
I want to connect a ps3 controller using the cable to my international rooted s3 but have a question.
How does the phone recognize the ps3 controller with the otg cable? Does the cable come with some drivers to be installed or do I just plug it in and attach ps3 controller and it simply works?
As far as I know, no drivers are needed. Just plug your sixaxis and il will work (you'll have to map the keys into the game anyway).
You shoud also consider using "Sixaxis Controller" to use it via BT.

Is there a difference between a SixAxis Controller vs a wireless ps3 controller? Sorry I dont own a ps 3
I never tried to use a wireless ps3 controller other than the sixaxis.
Many wireless controllers needs a dongle to connect to the PS3. You should ensure that the one you have use bluetooth without any dongle.
In the case you need a dongle, you'll have to connect it with a usb otg cable (you won't need any drivers as I said).
I can't guarantee the "sixaxis controller" app will work with a different one.
Interesting thread,i actually own a ps3 and a gs3 (^^) and never believed i can use my sixaxis via Bluetooth on my galaxy, which games are supported?
Inviato dal mio Samsung Galaxy S III con Tapatalk!
Virtually every game can be played with sixaxis. Some support are native (you'll have to map the keys anyway) like mame, etc.
For games wich can be played "only" with the touchscreen, you'll have to use a special mapping on sixaxis controller.
You'll find some profiles in this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1800342
For information, GTA III is also supported. I'll have to work on Onlive profiles soon.
Hope that helps.
I picked up a ps3 controller from a second hand store for ten pounds bargain i thought.
Games wise link above is great i havent come across many games that dont work appart from a select gameloft titles

[Q] Sixaxis & Snakebyte iDroid:con controller

I got a question and i hope someone can help me with it
Yesterday i got my Snakebyte iDroid:con controller and i wonderd if i can use it with sixaxis. I tried it but i can't get it to work on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1
If it works do i have to connect it the same way as a Ps3 controller (through usb) or does it work out of the box (because the controller is made for Android). If i have to do it the ps3 way then i have to buy an usb adapter for my Tab because it doesn't have a normal usb entrance. That's the reason i bought a Android bluetooth controller because i can't connect a ps3 controller with out an adapter.
Hopefully someone can help me with this. Thank in advance

I don't get why anyone would spend 20 bucks for an adapter you can get for 3 dollars on ebay, and very likely the EXACT same item..
I have maybe 12 lying around from previous devices and ALL of them work... All generic as well..
If your willing to wait the 3 weeks to a month... and are patient, you can get it MUCH cheaper and free shipping as well..
Also if there is a Microcenter in your area, they sell them for around 9 dollars..

[Q] Is Huawei MediaPad T1 8.0 compatible with usb-otg?

I've tried connecting it with several USB devices and all resulted in a failure. Basically, I'd like to know if I can use xbone or ps4 controller with it before I get one. x360 and ps3 controllers optionally.

Hmm, I don't have moga and I kinda don't want to get it just for android gaming. I'd like a single controller for both PC and my tablet. Btw, is your tablet rooted or not? I'm kinda new to this so I don't even know if it's possible to root it.
