Has anyone encrypted their phone yet after data has already been setup on the phone?
Selected the full device encryption and pressed start. Screen turned to a black screen with a white lock and text saying "Enrcypting...". It's been roughly 2 hours since this happened. Roughly 15GB of data on the phone so it should have finished by now. Also no progress bar was displayed which I recall does show up on other Android devices.
Does anyone have any experience or input?
Mine took maybe thirty minutes with not much more than stock data on it. Did it last Friday after picking it up and using it for a few hours. I know it definitely didn't take me as long as you're saying, though. Sorry. Hope it works out.

Looks like it messed up while it was encrypting. Had to do a hard reset. Setup encryption on boot time and it took 5 minutes or so with all my apps w/o data restored via TiBU. Also noticed a progress bar had shown up as well when it was encrypting that time.

Hi, I don't know if anyone else had experienced these problems, but I'm having strange sense force closes every time I restart the phone. It gives me time to put the sim card and screen passwords, works for about 30 more secs and then f**ks up... Same thing happens over and over even after a factory reset, I've probably sent more than 10 reports to htc already. On top of that, today - two more things happened: the clock on the top right corner next to the battery icon just stopped at 1:57 although the screen one was working fine. It started working again after a restart (and another sense force close), and finally - when I turned on the WiFi, the 4g icon didn't disappear, so now I have both icons in the notification bar...
I haven't tried to root it, neither have I unlocked the bootloader. It's the way I got it + several more apps. Anybody else having the same or similar issues?

Swap it out at tmo. You should still be in your 14 day return period.

First hour I had my phone it reset/reboot 4 times while I was playing with it. It was stock, didn't restore my backup from my Vibrant. After the 4th reset, I packed it up and decided to exchange it at Tmo. I then decided to do a factory reset. After that, the phone worked fine without any weird reboots. 3 days later, I downloaded the HTC software update. As soon as the update was done, I messed around with the phone and it reset twice on me. I exchanged it the next day. My new one works perfectly! Go exchange it!
I think I may have found the reason for the Sense force closes:
http://feedback.latedroid.com/forums/70437-feedback/suggestions/1714475-installing-plus-ultimate-crashes-the-launcher-home
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1183877
I was using Juice Defender Ultimate... Since the clock and the Wifi/4G icons are part of the Sense interface, perhaps this app is the reason for the other problems as well... What bugs me though is that my girl's Amaze is also running the same app with no problems whatsoever...
So I got bootlooped yesterday, my phone started up, I saw my home screen, then it shut itself off again and restarted. This is weird because I am not messing with any Custom ROMS. I am rooted, unlocked and am using the Stock ROM which I debloated.
Because of this, I deleted cache and Dalvik cache and did a Factory Reset through Amon Ra. Google Locations and the GPS weren't working, and although it had zero VZ bloat, I decided to just restore my Nandroid backup from a week or so ago since the interface seemed a little more familiar.
Once restored, I debloated a little again and restarted the phone multiple times (to make sure I wasn't messing about with any important apps that could be causing the original issue). The phone ended up restarting fine so I thought I was good to go. Then, today, after installing all my apps, and uninstalling the the Watch widget, I came to the HTC bootscreen. However, the phone wasn't really rebooting, the bootscreen just came on and then immediately went to my homescreen. Regardless, I thought I may restart just to check it out. The first time I restarted, I cycled through the homescreens immediately after boot and the phone turned off. Then I booted it up again and although it's running, I am getting no data. The Mobile Network tab is grayed out. I don't know what to do. I really don't want to factory reset again/restore my original nandroid backup.
I tried *228 but it just says that "A Verizon Wireless Sim card has activated your service and updated your phone's roaming capabilities.
So I tried the Bootlooping and Network fix on the stickied thread (sorry just found it on the website, it wasn't on Google). Regardless, I still have a reservation. If I do indeed bootloop again, even without the battery cover on, would I need to do a factory reset? Because that's what happened last time and I really do not want to go through that experience again.
Does you phone stay booted with the battery cover off?

No, it wasn't. It froze and then restarted seemingly 5-8 seconds after arrival on the lock screen and unlocking.
Also, after restoring, the Voice Mail app icon cannot be deleted. I have tried Titanium Back up, and now even though its deleted there, the icon is still visible.
I guess I had a different issue when my phone was bootlooping I was able get it to boot with the covers off then do the network fix (it was on wcdma)

I have two Lumia 920s. My phone is completely fine, browses the web very fast. My wifes 920 is really really slow. Brings up google in like 10-15 secs. Her phone says it's on wifi, but seems like it's on the Edge network... I deleted the wifi profile and reconnected, same speeds. I rebooted her phone, same speeds. Again my 920 is fine, and we both have the same apps installed(I have even more). Only difference is she has the cyan, and mine is white.
Anyone else having this issue?
Now to the bricking...
So I was going to hard reset her phone, but I wanted to try a test backup/restore on mine first. So I went into the about screen, and did a full wipe reset. My phone rebooted, and had two turning gears up on the sreen for 30 mins before I turned it off. Then the phone wouldn't boot. I had to reflash the firmware to recover phone. Anyone try a reset yet? Wondering if I have a hardware issue, or if this is a 920 issue(others have posted this too). Now I can recover it just fine with Nokia Care Suite, but the average user would have just bricked their phone. Surpised this can happen so easily...
I've owned 2 Quantums and a Lumia 900, and never had a brick even installing cab's manually...
BTW pretty disapponited with the backup/restore. I almost like WP7's backup better, just wished it included text messages. The WP8 restore doesn't set all settings back(no start screen restore... what???) or application settings. Also you only get prompted to restore the first time setting up the phone. The first time I skipped the MS Acount login, and when I added my account after, it never prompted. I reflashed phone again to use my account during the initial setup which then worked. They should at least have the option in the Windows software to do a "Full" backup.
Hmmm...backup works ok in my book. True, no start screen, but reinstalls apps, adds the emails and logins for the primary accounts, saves SMS and ie favorites. This is a step forward imo. Strange about start screen, but I can more than live with this.

I do think it's a step in the right direction, but I think they could add a few more options. First of all I should be able to restore at any time, not just during the phone's setup. The start screen is probably an easy thing, and will be included in a future update. I think the biggest thing is to have an option to save each application's settings/isololated storage if you want to. It still took me 30 mins to setup my phone after the restore, just wished "Apps + Settings" actually meant all settings.

This is obviously a topic where everyone is going to have different wants. Sure it would be nice, if...<insert your suggestion>.
Apple does it a little different, Android does it a little different. But I don't have those....<anymore>. I'm currently glad that MS does what it does now. A month ago, with 7.5, I didn't have that. A month from now, or the next version update, maybe we'll get more. Either way, I'm happier today than I was last month at this time....Progress....
Hello all, I've noticed that my S3 gets considerably slow after a few days of not shutting it down. For example, after a reset, tapping home will immediately take me to the launcher, everything reacts immediately, there's absolutely no lag, however, after about 2 or 3 days, things start getting slow, the launcher needs to reload everything whenever I press home, apps don't seem to stay in the memory and have to reload as well. Like I mentioned, restarting the phone fixes everything, and I was even thinking of setting up a Tasker action to restart the phone ad midnight or so every one or two days, but I wanted to know if this could be because of a single app that's being faulty, or normal behavior. Any and all replies are appreciated!

thats normal behaviour on most android phones, unless u have 2gb of ram(still happens but takes longer)
its better if you reboot at least once a day

Hi!
I'm using it now a little less than one year. This morning everything still normal, used the phone and then all of a sudden, I get a screen saying something like "Your device is setup and ready to use. Okay" and I see a screen that immediately makes me worry: no accounts, another launcher, my icons, data and accounts all GONE. What?
I made a screenshot and without much hope hit "reboot". After that, voila, my OLD setup is back again. But after less than 20 minutes, I get yet ANOTHER screen: "Welcome back, guest. Do you want to continue where you left off or ...." you get the point, don't you? Rebooted again.
Now I'm copying all my stuff to SD card (fortunately there's one supported), along with the two screenshots that were not accessible in my setup, but got them copied when the second "wipeout" happenned. What's going on?!?
Thanks!
