So here's a peculiar incident:
I have a CDMA TP with a stock ROM and a few basic apps I gathered from these forums and others. I've had it for less than a week.
Tonite, I went to check my text messages. Suddenly, the screen went black and the phone stopped responding. After pressing the power button and fiddling with the keys, I pulled out the stylus and did a soft reset. No response. Confused by this, I tried again, but still nothing. I removed the battery, and turned the phone back on. It froze at the "Touch Pro" screen with the rom/radio/etc info at the bottom. After repeating this a few times I decided to do a hard reset. So, I turn the device on and perform the hard reset. By this point the TP is only turning on SOME TIMES, and I have to take the battery out and put it back in often just to get it to start successfully. So, I finally get the device to boot up and it starts to configure WinMo. Suddenly, while configuring, it freezes. Now I try to turn it back on, and nothing happens.
Basically the device is stuck like this, shifting between not turning on at all and turning on but freezing at the "Touch Pro" screen.
So, my question is, what the heck is going on here? Has anyone else had this problem, or does this sound familiar to anyone? Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated.
p.s. Yes, the battery is fully charged.

Time to take it in and get a new one.....
Same problem here phone started b not coming out of lock mode. Backlight is on but no display on screen (if i tilt the screen left and right i can see light coming from behind) did about 6 hard resets and still same problem. also power button works whenever it wants to. this phone sucks @ss, i want my mogul back. on a second note my replacement will be here on wednesday.
Touch Pro stock rom purchased back in nov when it came out
yeah, i've had the same problem, i found if i hit my phone on the back or side and then batter pull and hit the soft reset while off, not the power button to turn it back on, it comes back on with color on the screen not just blank black screen with backlight, this works mostly every time, but when it doesn't, i just hold the power button down and do battery pull and hit the power button and it works, its like its got a combo of things you have to do before it works.. weird
Boot Up
I have also had similar problems. I for some reason sometimes have to remove my SD card and boot up without it for some reason. Not all the time, but every once in a blue moon. Not too sure how that affects anything, but you may try that too.
well i started a thread here ***help*** because i kinda have the same problem.
i downloaded some cabs, nothing fancy but i had some problems with a theme i downloaded. when i went to deleted i couldnt..... to make a story short, i took it to the sprint store where they tried to do a master reset/ hard reset and it wont take it. it wont do a thing... they say some important files are missing...
the phone works but not the way it should... the time on the home screen wont show up. and some other small things...
dont know how this happened but i would like to know... im worried about new programs to the phone now. ( getting a new one)

Have you tried re flashing the ROM?
it wasnt HTC's fault for your phone's not booting...thats what happens when u try to mess with the hardware too much and you dont know what your doing
Would you want to sell???
Reboot Brick HTC process
****DOn't take battery out after hard boot***
1.just watch videohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sk56olMkCtU and do what they do but dont take battery out. LEAVE phone STUCK on BOOT screen. Nothign else will move or work but you want phone just like that.
2. connect usb cable to active sync. (this may not link up but leave usb connected anyhow) Do not delete phone profile.
3.use rom like Download MightyROM6_Herman.exe avail at: http://www.lilrico.com/Mighty/mightyromblog/?p=454
4 although active sync is still attatched but may not be connecting. It will connect thru usb anyway when you run the rom software. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fV2I2WAFkg4&NR=1
This worked and kept phone from cutting on and off. and restored ROM. don't know about original htc boot. but your phone will work under this rom for now and you can go from there.
hey thanks plain ole dumb, it works now.
man I thought it was over.
thanks again
I have two Lumia 920s. My phone is completely fine, browses the web very fast. My wifes 920 is really really slow. Brings up google in like 10-15 secs. Her phone says it's on wifi, but seems like it's on the Edge network... I deleted the wifi profile and reconnected, same speeds. I rebooted her phone, same speeds. Again my 920 is fine, and we both have the same apps installed(I have even more). Only difference is she has the cyan, and mine is white.
Anyone else having this issue?
Now to the bricking...
So I was going to hard reset her phone, but I wanted to try a test backup/restore on mine first. So I went into the about screen, and did a full wipe reset. My phone rebooted, and had two turning gears up on the sreen for 30 mins before I turned it off. Then the phone wouldn't boot. I had to reflash the firmware to recover phone. Anyone try a reset yet? Wondering if I have a hardware issue, or if this is a 920 issue(others have posted this too). Now I can recover it just fine with Nokia Care Suite, but the average user would have just bricked their phone. Surpised this can happen so easily...
I've owned 2 Quantums and a Lumia 900, and never had a brick even installing cab's manually...
BTW pretty disapponited with the backup/restore. I almost like WP7's backup better, just wished it included text messages. The WP8 restore doesn't set all settings back(no start screen restore... what???) or application settings. Also you only get prompted to restore the first time setting up the phone. The first time I skipped the MS Acount login, and when I added my account after, it never prompted. I reflashed phone again to use my account during the initial setup which then worked. They should at least have the option in the Windows software to do a "Full" backup.
Hmmm...backup works ok in my book. True, no start screen, but reinstalls apps, adds the emails and logins for the primary accounts, saves SMS and ie favorites. This is a step forward imo. Strange about start screen, but I can more than live with this.

I do think it's a step in the right direction, but I think they could add a few more options. First of all I should be able to restore at any time, not just during the phone's setup. The start screen is probably an easy thing, and will be included in a future update. I think the biggest thing is to have an option to save each application's settings/isololated storage if you want to. It still took me 30 mins to setup my phone after the restore, just wished "Apps + Settings" actually meant all settings.

This is obviously a topic where everyone is going to have different wants. Sure it would be nice, if...<insert your suggestion>.
Apple does it a little different, Android does it a little different. But I don't have those....<anymore>. I'm currently glad that MS does what it does now. A month ago, with 7.5, I didn't have that. A month from now, or the next version update, maybe we'll get more. Either way, I'm happier today than I was last month at this time....Progress....
Alrighty then. I had some issues with this phone, its a few years old but I just took it out of the box for my daughter a couple months ago. There was some problems with running out of memory, so I was going to do a hard reset and clean the thing up. BTW I had rooted it and used and uninstaller off play store to get rid of the crap verizon apps. Just the junk ones I deleted, like navigator, and kindle etc... nothing OS related I thought. At any rate, when I went to do the factory reset, it goes through the motions, gets to the congratulations your device is ready to use click next, after I hit next I get an error that setup.android has unexpectedly stopped please try again. The phone seems to boot, but there is no home screen. No way to access anything to see whats going on. Just the status bar on top. I've tried everything I can think of. ANy ideas?? Thanks
I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X, which I started using around March. Lately, I have been facing an issue which has left me troubled a lot. My Note 4X seems to be in a bootloop.
Around two weeks ago, I was casually using my phone in college. I had put around 25 apps on download from Google playstore. Alongside, whatsapp was running. I usually take pics of my lectures, so when the teacher had written on the board, and was about to erase, I quickly attempted to go to the home screen, by clicking the home button ( middle button), so I could launch the camera app, and take the pic. But, the phone didn't go to the home screen, and stayed at the app being used. However clicking on the recent apps (the left button), the two running apps showed. However, as I didn't have much time, I did what came in my mind. Reboot the phone. Unfortunately, as soon as it booted back, the screen remained black.
Its been like this for two weeks now. Whenever I turn it on, It will show the Mi logo, then the Android logo simultaneously below it ( Like usual when it boots), but after that, the screen goes black. Touching the three buttons at the bottom of the phone make the back-lit underneath light up along with a vibration(Like usual). Clicking the touchscreen gives a vibration. If a sim card is put inside, and a call made to the inserted sim card's phone number, the phone starts ringing as usual, however, still with a black screen. Another major issue I experience other than the black screen, is that the top right of the phone becomes really really hot as time progresses( within minutes)(This never happened before), and the battery drains really fast too. I get freaked out because of this( I think it might explode or catch fire), so I quickly turn off the device, after some tinkering.
I have been trying to find a solution since the past two weeks. Hard pressing the Volume Up+ Start button takes me into MiRecovery 3.0, which offers 3 options, 1.Reboot, 2. Wipe Data, 3. Connect To MiSuite. Going into 2 gives the option " Wipe All data" only, and 3 is seemingly useless the MiSuite doesn't support new versions of Android. Hard pressing the Volume Down+Start button takes me to FastBoot. It should be noted, that in both MiRecovery 3.0, and Fastboot, the phone doesn't warm up really fast, as it does when booted normally, and rather remains cool even if left for quite sometime in these modes (approx 30 minutes atleast).
The main thing I'm trying to achieve is to backup the data on my phone, mainly the photos (lecture notes), and whatsapp data. The rest of the app-data isn't that much important, albeit if also savable, it would be a bonus.
I haven't tried flashing any ROMs, recovery, or anything else, as I'm afraid the data may be erased, and as I have never done anything like this before. Also, my phone isn't rooted, as I didn't feel the need for it to be.
Help is highly appreciated. I hope to be able to safely extract my data, and be able to start using my phone again.
Thanks to advance to all those who reply.
Guys?
Hello all,
I have a Moto Z Force Droid (XT1650-02). It's running on Android version 8.0.0, and build number OCLS27.76-69-6. It was acquired from Verizon. It is not rooted (sadly), and the bootloader is locked. It has 32GB of internal storage, however, I added an SDCard(64GB) to increase that storage space.
I'm having some problem(s) with my SDCard, or more so its usage as adopted storage. I've had the phone with the storage for quite a while and everything has been fine. However, 3-4 days ago was when the issues started. One night, my phone was acting really laggy. Which I just chalked up to tech being tech. I let it sit for a bit, tried rebooting it, etc. Well, as time progresses it seems to me that Facebook Messenger is what's slowing it down. So, I try uninstalling it. Of course, this isn't working and android just keeps giving me a helpful little notification that the app is uninstalling (for much longer than it *should* take). I figured I'd reboot into safe mode and try uninstalling it from there. The phone powers off and reboots fine. However, when I tried to unlock the screen, the entire phone froze and crashed after a minute or two. Once it reboots, it gets stuck in the bootloader (or, more specifically, where it says "DROID" and there are little shiny spots moving around the letters). So I used the power button to force the device off and try rebooting again. Again, boots up fine but it freezes at unlock and the cycle starts again.
Around 2 days ago I took it to a Verizon store. Originally I was just told I was going to have to factory reset (which I didn't want to because all the pictures I have and such would be lost. Apps are backed up by Google though). They told me to take out the SDCard, to help save what I could. Then, I got the bright idea to try booting without the card. This time the phone booted fine and unlocked like it should (the only problem now is that I had no internal storage and all the apps that were on the SDCard aren't loading since no SDCard).
When I leave the phone on and install the SDCard, I can browse the internal storage again. However, I can't see any of the files when I try transferring them to PC over USB. As well, after a while of using the phone, or even letting it idle, it will eventually crash and go back to the above botting and not-unlocking scenarios.
Based on how/when the problem started, and the logcats I've grabbed as the phone was crashing, I have reason to believe it has something to do with Facebook Messenger not being removed correctly. [Logcats in the comment below.]
Any help would be greatly appreciated. As well, please tell me if there's anything that needs clarification. (Sorry for the wall of text. I just don't know what else to do at the moment.)

So. Bit of an update.
Turns out it's not actually just getting locked in the bootloader. It seems it's been doing a soft reboot.
I've been running "adb logcat" whilst trying different things, until the phone crashes. That's how I got the previous logcats. However, upon "rebooting" the adb logcat continues to run. I can provide a logcat for those, should anybod want it.
