Hi,
I tried to install TWRP on my MTK Device (Lenovo P780 8GB ROW) and run superuser.zip but after it process it my baseband and IMEI were gone.
Following all the procedures and using different type of tools on different websites including XDA, nothing can actually fix it.
One thing that complicates the problem being solved is the missing dev/radio file contents and the /dev/pttycmd1.
Even going to META MODE by turning of the device seems to be a hassle (just a gray background nothing else.
The WIFI-BT-MAC Address information are still intact and working (good to see it)
These are the tools i used so far.
MTKDroid - detected but not able to restore IMEI due to missing pttycmd1.
-
MIUI - cannot detect phone in META MODE
-
SN Writer - cannot detect phone in META
-
MobileUncle - cannot restore my IMEI backup / said it restore and restart but still the same
-
Manually did the engineering mode AT+ command. Failed.
-
SP Flash - firmware upgrade and download all - not able to restore baseband / IMEI (havent tried to format - as these might delete the MAC-WIFI-BT data as well or worst brick the device.
What is the pttycmd1? How can I restore it? Does baseband need to be restored first prior to changing IMEI? How do I restore baseband without backup?

First I'm so sorry if my question is similar with another threads. But I'm pretty sure I have been looking for the answer around the internet and of course XDA developer for a week. I follow every guide and method I found. But it still not answer of my problem.
I flashing camera driver I've got from my friend backup using TWRP backup. Actually I only need to choose uboot only to install. But I'm in hurry so I accidentally choose everything includes NVRAM. Since then I've got wrong IMEI on my phone because the IMEI overwritten with my friend phone. But it's not a problem because I can restore my original IMEI with MTKDroid & Tools.
And the problem is my IMEI is now back and corrected. But there is no network detected on the phone. SIM card detected fine. When I go to EngineerMode by pressing *#*#3646633#*#* and open Radio Information on CDS I saw IMSI field was unknown and Radio Status is turning on and off rapidly.
What I have done is :
1. Full flashing with the stock ROM via SP Flash Tools.
2. Change the IMEI with MTK Droid Tools
3. Change the IMEI with AT command ... echo 'AT+EGMR=1,7,"myIMEI1"' >/dev/pttycmd1
No result. IMEI is correct but no network.
I believe this is not a hardware problem, so please help me to solve this problem. Because it's my only phone to communicate with my whole families. I really appreciate with your help. Thanks.
Hello,
My phone: GSMART Roma R2 (Rooted)
I know there are a lot of threads how to restore IMEI but none of them worked when I dial up *#06#, it shows message with two lines containing "null".
I was using MIUI rom for a while and suddenly after I rebooted phone SIM was no longer recognized (before reboot I was playing with SWAP couldn't make it work so I uninstalled BusyBox (could that cause the issue?))
I already tried:
Engineering Mode: Displays "AT command is failed to send"
Terminal Emulator: Doesn't work
MAUI 3G: Flashing new IMEI changed nothing.
MTK Droid Tool - Changing IMEI did nothing.
SN Writer: Writing new IMEI changed nothing BUT when I choosed to read IMEI it successfully displayed both IMEI in the textbox. (So it looks like the IMEI actually is registered on the phone but phone doesn't seem to use it)
Manually writing MP0B_001 to NVRAM: Nothing changed.
I have used backup in CWM recovery to stock ROM, didn't work, then I did factory reset, didn't work, flashed back the stock recovery and installed update from Gigabyte site, didn't work. So basicly now my phone has stock rom, stock recovery, factory reseted and is rooted.
Thank you very much for any answers because I just fell hopeless about fixing my phone
I fixed it using solution here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2599459
Scroll down to post with NVRAM backup, I used that backup to fix it and then just changed the IMEI numbers to my IMEI numbers.
Basicly loaded a dual sim rom on a single sim Acer Liquid Z200.
was helped so far in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...ms-cwm-root-acer-liquid-t2960787/post59482099 by @Shreps, but somehow i got this message that due to the 10 post rule i wasnt able to post anymore.
Downloaded the last zip file, but CMW doesnt seem to recognize my SD card.
Tried to load the rom with adb using sideload, but get the message cant find device.
Is it possible to load another version of CMW, mount it with USB and flash the zip file from the pc? And can i use any CMW file or are the custom made for each type of phone/brand?
Any other suggestions, got no clue what to do now
edit 18-3-15:
Tried to re-load CWM with Smart Phone Flash Tool and got this PMT changed for the ROM; it must be downloaded
Update:
Did a format of the device using Flash Tool, MTK USB poort was loaded and was able to flash the ROM for dual SIM.
@stef951
Try to flash this firmware from a Recovery :
update-Acer_AV0K0_Z200_1.012.00_EMEA_GEN1S-sds.zip
It's the stock firmware Single SIM EMEA GEN1s, you should back to your original firmware.

used recovery to install the firmware for sinlge SIM.
However now stuck with IMEI issues.
Used Mobile Uncle Tool and MTK Engineering to get into Engineering mode, but get this message: "cannot find engineer mode app"
*#*#3646633#*#* doesnt do anything. Possible that Engineer mode isnt installed? And is it possible to install it on my device?
Tried to load IMEI with MTK droid gave me a message "Changes will come into force after reset", but nothing changed -_-
Any other options on this IMEI matter.....?
Finally found a solution to enter Engineering mode, type *#*#2237332846633#*#*
When i try to change the IMEI with AT commad get a message AT command is failed to send
Tried Uncle tools, but unaible to acces engineering mode with this app.
I can enter a valid IMEI in MTK tools, but after reboot its still unknown.
Tried to copy a new MP0B_001 file to the NVD_IMEI folder
but all failed :crying:
Still searching for the solution, but if someone over here can help me out it would be appreciated.
Phone is not reading SIM card neither, is this because of the IMEI issue?
Acer Z200 Working again!!!
GOT MY PHONE BACK TO LIFE!!!
Lost the serial number and IMEI, had to write them back to NVRAM using Maui META tool.
Tutorial how to found on http://www.gizbeat.com/6058/how-to-...-for-mtk6582-mtk6572-mtk6592-mtk6589-mtk6595/
In the attached ZIP the files i used for the Maui META tool
Android_Gadget_CDC_driver, CDC driver didnt got installed so had to do this manually.
MTK6572 database: BPLGUInfoCustomAppSrcP_MT6572_S00_MOLY_WR8_W1315_MD_WG_MP_V1_P3_1_wg_n
If you have the serial and IMEI number, go to method B under Restoring Values and add the manaully.
When loading the MTK6572 database i also got a warning: execution warning nvram database file is inconsistent with target load
Ignored the warning and just writed the serial and IMEI to the device.
Disconnected, rebooted and got a working serial and IMEI.
So happy that the damn thing got working again.
bro I saw your successful post about Acer Z200. but I can't install CDC Serial Driver .
. how to Install Manually ? Android_Gadget_CDC_driver, CDC driver.
Can you explain to me.
Thanks in advanced
It's almos a year that I have damaged something and my BlackView BV7000 Pro keep saying "Invalid IMEI" (https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/invalid-imei-problem-t3898950).
No app or windows software works, I just managed to restore ONE of the two IMEI, but still having problem with some SIMs.
I finally managed to set my IMEIs, and the way is so simple that I wanna destroy it.
REMEMBER: this guide purpose is sole for restoring your IMEIs due to problems with your phone (like I did formatting all in the memory).
Using a different IMEI is illegal in most countries (if not all countries).
Here you go:
- dial *#*#3646633#*#*
- in Telephony tab scroll down to GPRS option (note: "CDS Information" option doesn't exist in this phone)
- now you can write both your original IMEIs (you found them on the back of the phone or on your phone box)
- reboot
I just find it randomly checking every option. And I used all tools I could find without luck (SP Flash, MTK Tools, IMEI Changer/Restore apps, etc).
Now my problem is fixed.
Enjoy.
Where should I enter the IMEI on GPRS option? thanks for your help man.
I lost my EFS partition when recovered my phone via EDL, crying now
Well, I flashed Engineering Rom from here https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=4349826312261824846
And I changed IMEI1 IMEI2 MAC and BT addresses through some tools (Qualcomm IMEI Repair Tool / QMSL IMEI&SN Writer v1.4)
Rebooted system after changes made...
F*** It's ok! I see "20:00:00:00:00" at mac address info while wifi is off, IMEI SV info is "00" and changing serial doesn't worked.
The changed wifi address value only works while Engineering Rom is running, otherwhise the value changes back to 00:0a:f5:e8:b9:f8 ohhhhh f***, this happens when I update to stock rom.
I have QFIL and QPST installed on my machine, I enter diagnostic mode and I can see the contents of the EFS partition, my doubts are: is there a way to permanently change the data in "IMEI1 IMEI2 IMEI SV SN BT WIFI etc." so that new roms read the "default"?
What are the value chains I should change? .xqcn file editing made global changes?
Please help me
