i Wanted to install CM on my galaxy s3, downloaded the cm installer both on phone/windows, got my phone prepared and started the installation. phone got to downloading mode, installer said that it's installing recovery, then phone switched from download mode to cyanogen logo. on PC there was still "installing recovery" (on cm installer program i mean) then after like 5mins, cm installer said that it's preparing for installation, and seconds later "we couldn't talk to your phone" phone got stuck on cm logo. tried rebooting it but it boots to cm logo and doesn't go further, i can't get to recovery mode either, when i try to do volup+home+power combination it just tries to start normally and stucks on cm logo. i can get to download mode easily. i don't know what to do. downloading stock firmware ATM and will try to get it in with odin throu download mode ://
Flash any custom recovery via Odin. I suggest TWRP. Download cm and gapps and put those files on your SD card via computer. Than flash cm through previously flashed phone's custom recovery from that external SD card.

Hi, i have a galaxy tab 10.1 wifi only (GT-P7510)
Recently i rooted my tab and it was all good. I flashed a ICS rom (AOKP_p4wifi_milestone-4) and kernel (2.6.36.4 cynogenmod + pershoot #1) on it also worked just fine.
However i wanted to get rid of the triangle on the bootscreen so i stupidly googled a solution without checking it. Flashed the wrong bootloader and now my tab won't boot into recovery, wont boot in to download, Isn't recognised by ODIN
BUT
It will eventually turn it's self on and otherwise works perfectly fine, i can do everything but boot into recovery download and wont turn it on when i want it to. So i can use it but i'm stuck with an unfinished ICS rom and i can't flash any other roms in the future (Nor make backups). I have also tried to use ROM manager to flash and it just turns its self off and won't boot.
So is there anyway to flash it to get back into recovery/download mode or better yet are you able to flash the device while its on.
P.S connects to computer fine in MTP mode and i can search the internal sd (copy paste etc.)
Also I'm a noob
Hello
I have been using my int Gs3 for sometime and decided to root and explore the mods and custom fw world. I have started with getting to root access and after that install CWM.
Then I try to install nightly cyanogenmod 10. It didnt work and boot back to normal GS3 Touchwiz interface. After that I tried the GooManager and when the phone is restarted it went to bootloop. I removed the battery and put it back. The problem started there.
The phone does not boot to any OS, I only can see the galaxy s3 9300 black splash screen and awatis there. I can go into download mode, but when I go into recovery mode, I can see the Android robot, and it dies The screen is too fast but what I can see it cannot mount EFS, System and any folder.
So I have tried several different methods
- Tried to flash with original rom, different roms, CWM and what I can find suitable for international model. But everytime I got stucked in Nand Write part. In some of them, the flash started and stucked in installing some parts(passes the cache and hidden and stuck after that)
- Tried with bricked phone roms, different PIT files and Bootloader Vralec methods.
- When I am trying these, I have tried with 3 different PC's with/without KIES and Samsung drivers installed. When I plug the phone in Download mode, the PC recognizes it as Generic device.
- I manage to flash the CWM but when it restarts it does not go any further than the first splash screen, but in Odin, some time later it turns to pass. Funny, when the phone is on Galasy S3 black splash screen, the pc recognizes the phone and starts to install the driver.
So, here is an interesting flashing story of mine. I really would appreciate your valuable comments and suggestions.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Recently I have received and installed a new CM nighly release after that my tablet worked for several days and then went into bootloop. First it was booting into OS for a minute or so and then reloading. I have tried to install a previous nighly release from settings menu and device just started to bootloop on CM logo. Sometimes it just frezees on this logo.
I tried then to wipe data from recovery mode, but it just freezes on formatting /data, wiping cash goes ok.
I also updated to CWM 6.0.3.1 touch and tried to wipe data but it also freezes.
I have stuck at this point as I can't reinstall CM 10.1 on my device, and I need your help please.
My device: Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1 GSM
Cyanogenmod 10.1
ClockWork Recovery 6.0.3.1
Actually I finally fixed it.
It might be interesting for some one.
So, in the end I have flashed/installed official ROM from samsung-updates. com
Just simply done it download mode via Odin 1.85 (added to PDA and pressed start). After that my tablet returned to stock firmware but did not want to load into OS and just was showing Samsung logo. I have waited may be 20 min for it and then reloaded in recovery and from recovery mode (power + vol down) managed to finally wipe data. After that my ablet reloaded and Ta-Da it loaded official firmware with all my previous apps.
I am happy Hope that may help someone.
Hello, recently my Samsung s3 just shut off instantly and when I tried turning it back on it just remained stuck on the boot screen. It only shows "Samsung galaxy s III GT-I9300" there's no animations or noises after that or before it when you try to boot it up. Then I tried entering recovery mode but that failed, the only thing it can enter is download mode. So i tried to flash a stock ROM via Odin, however this failed. I'm not sure why since im not too familiar with flashing roms, I may have used the wrong stock rom for my phone. I bought this from T-mobile and had it unlocked to all networks, I did root this phone about two years ago, so it has a custom ROM flashed on it previously. If someone can take me through the steps to flash with the correct ROM it would be greatly appreciated. thanks
You don't flash ROM's via Odin in the same way as you do via your phone (CWM, Philz etc).
As I've just experienced the same problem try this.
Get Odin (3.0.4 upwards)
Make sure you have Samsung drivers installed on your PC (can be found by searching this forum)
Put phone in download mode
Start Odin
Goto androidfirmwares.net and download an i9300 ROM (must be a ROM file!!)
Unzip it (7zip, Winzip etc)
press PDA button in Odin. Select the file you just just unzipped (which should end .tar.md5)
Wait for it to check MD5
Click Start
You should then, fingers crossed, have a bootable S3.
From their you can install whatever you please once you have installed CWM or some other recovery.
(Please excuse my poor English)
I have a Galaxy S3 i9300. OS is Android 4.3, rooted, and old version CWM recovery installed.
I can't remember exact OS and CWM recovery versions, because I had installed them years ago.
Today, I had decided to upgrade my old CWM recovery. I installed ROM Manager apps from
Google Play Store. (I installed and used the Rom Manager app for the first time)
I ran the Rom Manager app and upgraded CWM recovery as the app instructed. No errors were
reported. Then I chose "Reboot into Recovery".
Then the big trouble happend.
1. Normal "Samsung GALAXY S III GT-I9300" boot message appeared
2. Small Hat image and "ClockworkMode Recovery v6.0.4.6" message appeared
3. Screen blacked out.
4. Repeat 1~3 infinitely.
When I tried to connect via USB, my Windows7 PC could not recognize the i9300 at all.
I cannot use the i9300 as phone, too. I cannot do anything at all.
How can I fix this big trouble?
I have the same problem with TWRP recovery, keeps rebooting over and over again, sometimes the recovery menu appearing and reboots after some seconds automatically, please help
I had the same problem with my i9300 with CWM recovery it kept booting back to recovery no mather what i did i can recoment 2 things
1.flash new recovery with odin(did not try this but xould help
2. Flash original samsung firmware also with odin (this helped me)
My advice i olny flash recovery with odin roms with recovery
Thank you. I could fix the problem by flashing another kind of recovery app.
1. Enter the odin mode (press volume_down + home + power when power up , http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Odin_mode )
2. Connect i9300 to PC via USB
3. Flash another kind of recovery app using Odin (in my case. CWMs are not work, but TWRPs are good)
