Lockscreen Effects for Note 3 Lollipop - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 General

I am not taking credit, I am only trying to point others to this amazing thread I found a few days ago.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/themes-apps/how-to-enable-pop-color-effect-mod-s4-t3024120
I prefer the Ink style of lockscreen. I was able to edit my Settings.db and change my setting manually to the Ink setting. I have been rocking it for 2 days now without any issues
Just wanted to bring some attention to some mods you can do that won't completely break your lollipop!
Again I am not the Original Poster, nor am I trying to take credit for his work. Please go to his thread and thank him for is work, do not thank me, I haven't accomplished anything other than a google search

Yes, it requires the use of SQLite Editor, this program requires root privileges.
I am not sure if using ADB to push a file would have any affect or not.

Had this been confirmed to work on 5.0.1 rooted?

I use this on my device, SM-N900V with Jasmine Rom (rooted) installed. The About section states 5.0 there is no indication that this is 5.0.1
I have only tested the ink setting it's the one I like best, if I feel froggy I will try others.

[Q]Will this works on my O1?

I saw this thread a few weeks ago, but now i wanna ask you guys that will this method works for our O1? I personally hate the clock font a lot!

adb cannot communicate to your device if your device is not rooted. it needs SU (super user)permission.so rooting is a must.
then how to....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1007244.
before you play with anything please install custom recovery and take a back up( i mean a nadroid backup)
before theaming it check that the rom you are using is deodexed unless you cant see the changes.
Just use Widget Lock it does all you want without flashing ****, use ClockR for different clock fonts.

Works like a charm
Installed it on my S4 and it worked GREAT. Thanks for doing this. My tablet is not one of the one's listed in on the DirecTV web site as a certified device so I can't even download it. I decided to give this a try and it works great.
Many thanks.

If Paul can add this to the toolkit, there is no need to modify the APK and we can keep the play store version installed.

It takes me two minutes to remove the root and custom rom check (as well as the other things that they check before allowing end user to use the app)
Sure he could do that, but he would have to update his code everytime the app is updated as well. (Package names change, app dev "attempting" to preform checks other ways therefore changing the code and so forth are many reasons I wouldnt think he would bother)
If you have a precaution about running an app that someone (in this case me) has modified (for any reason ) and you want to use the original application you know u can "hide root" with many third party apps, and its even possible with supersu. This way would allow you to use un altered app.
To recap, I have no problem with any additional solutions to reach the same end result. There are many ways to get the same result.
Cheers

4.3 broke a lot of apps...
That said, from a clean reboot ( simply for less cluter) run a logcat and launch app grab the failure and send it to me.
Edit:
After some quick googling thats not an app or os problem but something on "thier" side of things.
Google " error code AR/1001" and you'll find what I found .

[MOD] NK4 HotSpot Fix & Extended Boot Menu ODEXED

Here is a HotSpot mod for NK4 devices. I did the smali edits from memory and put this together in 10 minutes so please let me know if there are any issues. It is working on my device but make a backup. Requires busybox installed for the installer.
This is for ODEXED ROMS! This is NOT DEODEXED! Don't yell at me if you can't read
Added seperate Extended Boot Menu Mod. Same rules apply.
Could you make one for the NKD build if I send you the needed file's?
The smali edits would be easy enough, However, I'm not sure how to 'odex' it and how things are affected since ART is implemented in the latest version replacing the Dalvik cache.
Short answer. I don't know....
I guess I need to install it at some point and figure out how it works
There's been quite a few downloads and no feedback whatsoever so I'll assume the mods are working?

Hi townsenk;
I thin the majority of users\downloaders are on tdunham's stock 4.4.4 and deodex. At least that is my case. I'm trying to get hotstpot working and have been thus far unsuccessful. If you feel like making a Deodex version I will definitely be on the top of the list for a test. Galaxy tools have been unable to fix my issue. I am able to advertise the hotspot put no devices can connect. They hang on the obtaining IP screen.

Try this. This is completely untested and probably not ready for public consumption!
Make sure you have a backup of your services.jar and have a fire extinguisher handy...
What about extended reboot for deodexed ☺ please

I can deodex the extended reboot mod if needed, provided I get some feedback that the deodexed hotspot version is even working. Like I said, I have no easy way to test deodexed versions and rely on simple comments like "It's Working" or "You blew up my Phone You Jerk!"

Flashed and cleared cache. Broke my wifi. I get authentication error when trying to connect to an access point now.
Hotspot has same issue trying to assign IP. I didn't make a backup of just the services.jar (yea, know I should have). Instead just restoring a full backup with TWRP,
:EDIT: The restore did not fix the authentication error. After restore, I simply did the turn off wifi and data, turn on Airplane mode, Turn back on Wifi and that fixed it so I probably could have done that in the first place. I wanted to confirm this backup though so happy since it was a full modem\EFS (everything checked) backup.
Thank you for trying.

Are you using Xposed, Custom kernel or any mods or xml edits that may be affecting this?
The reason I ask is that the fact that an ip address is not getting assigned should not be a side affect of the mod regardless of it being odexed or deodexed. I also had no success in using the one click hotspot app. (which is what prompted me to do the mod in the first place). I also restored the system once it failed because I felt it may have left some undesired edits behind. The only real way would be to do the mod on a clean deodexed install. I'm not asking you to do this because I know it's a pain. I may attempt this in the next day or so depending on the feedback I get in the meantime.
EDIT: User miked63017 is testing a different way to do the hotspot mod in a recent post. You may consider trying that. he may also have more insight on your specific issue.

I am now using a custom kernel but did try it with the stock kernel as well. It is weird that I don't get a complain from the Hotspot app but instead only get an issue with devices trying to connect. Maybe I'll try with a clean install over the weekend to see what happens.
No exposed. on tdunham's 4.4.4
Hotspot worked perfectly for me. But now on deodexed rom

[ROM] Sac23&Darkera13 Note 5 Ported V2 10/27 - No Services

Since I am new and can't post in the development forum...
I really like this Rom but I can not get it to access any network functions either cell or data. I have tried both versions, waited when flashed and booted before rebooting, dirty flashed v1 to v2... but no matter what I get these:
SAE has stopped (after boot up)
Insert Sim Card to access network services (on sprint?)(when attempting to turn Mobile Data on)
and it says in the top bar "checking device status"
Can not update profile or prl
Please help...
What modem and baseband are you on?
Sim card not recognized
I have the same problem although SAE went away when I chose note 3 camera but still no service and Sim card not found!
Modem is listed as unknown and not even an option for baseband

sac's rom is ancient and other people have made improvements to darkera's Lp note 5 port. Try Music of Life LP rom from main note3 forum. Since there's zero interest to port them to the sprint , install with XAS csc to allow apn editing. If you don't mind some bugs, try the S7 edge ports instead. Darkera, music of life, and others currently have s7 ports. They all have their own threads (darkera has his english thread at samsungvn) if you want to ask further questions about them.

Thank you, I did want to try Phronesis' 6.5 but just wasn't confident that I'd be able to get data to work. I seems like it works great with xposed, enough though there's so much baked in that most modules wouldn't be necessary. I wanted a 5.1.1 stable ROM, MM still seems to be too buggy, it seems like Sac's was the only alternative for me, but I guess I need to figure out the APN option to make others work with Sprint.

Why is there no Navigation Bar in CM13!?

So for a while now, my i9100's physical navigation buttons don't work anymore (I have dropped it and the flex connector was cut), and instead of fixing it, I was thinking if maybe there's a way to add a navigation bar in the bottom of the screen, like flashing something that would resize the screen and add the nav bar in the bottom.
I've looked up online and I only found zip files for ICS and JB, which reminded me of how the CM ROMs for JB and KK had the "Navigation Bar" option in the Settings menu. How come that's not a thing in L and N?
I also tried SoftKey Enabler, no luck.
Android version: 6.0.1
CyanogenMod version: 13.0-20160930-NIGHTLY-i9100
Kernel version: 3.0.101-CM-g43c083a

Typically you want root to do it because you can do it directly from the device that way.
But there is the option of installing custom recovery without rooting and then using adb while in recovery to adb pull a copy of build.prop from /system, edit it then save it and adb push the edited build.prop back to /system, wipe cache while in recovery then reboot and you're good. On stock, without root, only custom recovery, it works on custom ROMs also.
Not all devices will have this option because some devices will need to unlock bootloader before they can flash custom recovery, some devices also have a secured kernel and will not allow adb to work unless you find an insecure kernel for the device. Also, not all devices have a custom recovery available to use for this method.
