My droid razr xt910 suddenly does not connect to my mobile network. In fact when I go under settings in about phone theres a section status and under network say unknown, service state out of service, mobile network state disconnected, my phone number is blank!!! Imei unknown. The phone itself works perfect, like the apps, the wifi etc. however I can not call or send a text. Call my cellphone provider Rogers Canada and they said everything is good on their end. I even went and got a new sims card, still nothing. At the top where you usually see your notification Icons my network signal bar has what appears to be a red stop sign obviously this is not good. I've tried everything, and Rogers says my phone is no good anymore. Running android 4.1.2. Really hope someone can help me I'm so disappointed and I can't afford another phone. Thank you for any assistance in advance. ps ive tried removing and reinserting sims card, I've also tried numerous factory resets to no avail

I used Rsd lite 6.1 to flash 982.124.17.xt910.brasil.en.br . Did get flash pass no error msges.

i did originally and that never resolved anything, then read some more and someone on rogers canada flashed the brazil one with success so i thought why not ive got nothing to lose. Now if i try to go back and reflash i get an error at 6/20 in rds lite whatever that means

I tried flashing Rogers_XT910_SignedLATAM_167-SLC-M33.1_P042_A014_CFC_1FF_fastboot.xml however it failed flashing process. 6/21 flash cdt.bin_signed"-> Phone returned Fail.
I flashed 9.8.2O-124_SPUL-18_Rogers_P005_A006_S1FF_fb_CFC.xml with a Pass. Sounds awesome however still no network connection! I don't know what I should try next. Plse any help greatly appreciated.

Well if you work in Globe you will have all the correct APN settings to enter the network in your phone .
You have simply put a firmware in the phone that does not have a CSC for your area/network .Requires manual entry of network settings .

You're talking network as in internet access or general receiption?
Sound to me as general receiption, APNs have nothing to do with that.
What GSM band is your provider using?
SGS2 is quadband IIRC, so GSM 900, 1800 and 1900 and some else should work, but you never know (might also be something with the modem SW, try finding a ROM for your provider to try)....

I tried my both orange sim cards on other phones, all worked fine.

astonishing! thx i will look that up
With the exception of sending texts almost everything works. Results do differ from a carrier tp another regarding small issues like dialing service numbers and dialing the choices from the keypad when on a server call.

I'm using Simple Mobile (which is Tmobile) with my Rezound on ICS; Data is Edge, can make and receive calls, SMS but i'm unable to send/receive MMS. I also have a HTC droid Inc 2 and i have no problem sending/receiving MMS and data is also Edge.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I really love my Rezound.

I'm that dev lol...ive been able to get 4g on a tmobile based card but it doesnt stick...it defaults back to edge...im still currently working on a permanent fix...and yes internet and mms works

no you must be on a gsm capable rom and obviously you need root and a custom recovery to install one...its pretty easy...and you need to set up the apn's to get your data...also easy

Raven can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe you have to be in an area that has 1700/1900 MHz band refarmed for hspa+ to work. Or you will have to do some NV edits to get 3G/H+

No your right in order to get 3g or 4g some hard editing is required but you can still set up your data and get edge speeds for basic easy setup....however straight talk and att made a deal within the last few months....and requires their mini sim card and the mini sim to normal sim adapter to get 4g on the rezound I'm actually going to confirm this very soon...within the next week or so I'll definitely have an answer

Did you manually and properly set the correct APN...not the one that automatically gets brought up....those are auto generated by the device tree build and is hard coded so it may not always work

No you dont choose it...you have to manually enter it in under settings then mobile networks....also make sure your sim card is placed in properly...even us dev's messed that up sometimes....also sun dreams rom had many issues for me...including a few gsm errors...try a different rom thats much more stable

When I loaded the pacman 4.3 I also found a CM 10.2 patch that I installed with it.I am guessing that is why it had 4 different apns to chose from and had one already checked when it booted up. When I found I had no signal I put in the apn info that came with my sim card and got data and texting working with it just with edge speeds. Should I not install the gsm patch? So heres the story.........A while back my girlfriend had an i777 and had to get a replacement from AT&T (wasn't bricked but gps and auto rotate issues). She just upgraded to a S3. Now i'm trying to update the I777 to stock ICS through Kies. It will only let me go to Stock KK6. I know that you can force the upgrade to ICS by giving it you S/N and model. Heres the problem......The refurb that we got from AT&T does not have the S/N on the sticker under the battery. Is there any other way to get this S/N? Is there a dialer code for this?I am going to be giving this device to my mother so I want it to be completely stock.

Will the IMEI work? If so put in *#06#
S/n may be under about phone... if stock doesn't have that, screw the official update and go the xda way.

Is the s/n on the box? It should be on one of the stickers.

Can you tell me how to make it work with European SIM? I have that was active roaming.
It's T-Mobile Poland Sim and roams on T-Mobile USA I put it in iPhone 4S VZW and shows signal and receives texts.
When I Put into RAZR. Nothing no signal bars.
I also put it in WCDMA mode for GSM only and nothing both with AT&T and T-Mobile (PL)
I think that is is where you need to install a zip file to use gsm on the spyder i will post the link

Have you set it to gsm mode in *#*#INFO#*#* ? in phone info in that menu change the mode
Also you will need the apn of the network for data and mms. But for phone it should be in that menu.

Man this started out of nowhere before verizon sim card worked no problem even not active sim it showed signal bars etc.. then out of nowhere it just died

What I'm wondering is would it work with any SIM card with the TMOBILE ICS modem, or do I need to use a different modem? I'm planning on selling it on ebay and need to know, because I need to make sure that I can advertised it as unlocked and able to work with any SIM. I would greatly appreciate any helpful response.
You can tell the buyers that the phone is unlocked and they can flash their own modem if things don't work on their network.

2-I want to install AOKP 4.4.2 on wifey's phone but video issue had been a deal killer; I am not sure if I read somewhere that that is/was fixed with a patch or similar. Can you confirm if your video works ok? And if you have any other issue at all you have encountered with that ROM?

Is there a generic code to input or do I still need to use one of the "unlock websites"?

I've noticed a slight signal loss too with every 4.4 ROM I've tried. They all seem to have the same video issue as well. @Polluti0n has a video patch, that works great for me on all the 4.4 roms, in the OP here:
