i have rooted my phone with cf-auto root and my phone have root now.
i have also flashed TWRP recovery with FLASHIFY.
this processes went very well and smooth.
now i can boot into TWRP and make Backups.
the issue begins when i want to restore from backup.
i'm trying to restore my phone from a TWRP backup i made yesterday and after the recovery has finished
my phone starts to boot loops with samsung logo.
i have tried to do a fresh install of the original stock rom, flash the auto root then installed TWRP. i have ran the process again a few time's with no luck.

[Q] Reboot returns me to stock recovery

Hey there, I'm trying to root my S3 and a first step I wanted to make a nandroid backup, so i downloaded Odin and I used it to install recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.1.0-i9300 onto my device, i rebooted into the recovery screen and I found myself in the stock recovery menu.
So i tried it once more, to no change in my situation, so I looked through the forums for a while and I found a thread by mskip about installing CWM and thankfully it had this
Stock Recovery being reflashed after a reboot?
There is an auto recovery restore system on stock roms that will reflash the Stock Recovery on a Stock Rom. If the restore files are renamed then CWM Recovery should not be overwritten after a reboot.
You need to be rooted and then delete or rename the following files:
Quote:
/system/recovery-from-boot.p
/system/etc/install-recovery.sh
You can then flash recovery without it being overwritten.
You can also do all this through the S3 ToolKit
**All credit goes to to Koush and anyone else responsible for ClockworkMod**

My problem being that I can't rename said files bacause my phone isn't rooted and the S3 toolkit requires rooting to do backups and such, and I can't root it because (unless I misunderstood) I need CWM installed.
So my question is : What can I do now? Can I root my phone in any other way ? Is there a way to get past this Stock recovery screen onto CWM?
Already thanks for reading and sorry for it being this long
Also I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 I have Android 4.1.1 And I run Windows 7 on my PC
Ok, so I looked around a bit and I just rooted it without a backup, it seemed safe enough.
Root went well, I backed up right after just in case.
Use cf root and flash via Odin that will give you root and flash cwm. Then you can continue with your nandroid backup. All though you can do the full root procedure using that toolkit, its one of the options. Hope I could help

If you can access your recovery and/or sd card through mounting. Your device isn't bricked. I would suggest you double check everything you downloaded and make sure it's all compatible with your device. If one simple .zip doesn't match your device you can get a bootloop or soft brick (non-fatal) which is what you seem to be experiencing. Let me know if you have any questions and thanks for sharing!

[SOLVED] Please help me I've messed up my rom AND lost root

Hello I was having problems in backing up data in nandroid using cwm recovery. Some nice guy suggested me to change my recovery so I did.
Now i have messed up real bad, i flashed a philz recovery which I had used in a stock based rom and the backup was successful but then the phone couldn't boot up. So i restored the boot patrition from a previously made backup. This way i successfully booted up my phone and got previous recovery. So far so good. Now i knew that the problem is in recovery. I also had a raw kernel file which I had used to flash the cm11 rom so i flashed that kernel. But then i restated device to find out that i have now lost root access. I tried flashing super su via raw kernels twrp recovery but I saw no effect despite it being flashed. I cannot flash the recovery because the curreny twrp recovery crashes when i try to flash that.
Current situation is that I am getting constant unlimited, system process is crashed, errors and I can see no signal from mobile operator. Wifi is working fine.
Please help me, my phone is almost unusable with this error but I have access to all the apps, functions etc. in case you can suggest me to use it.
UPDATE:
Tried to flash a latest version of cm11 and now booted up correctly. root checker says I am rooted.
got latest cwm as well
Now I need to take backup to see if the initial problem is there or not.
As the issue highlighted in this thread is solved, I will mark this as solved and will reply to future problems (related to not being able to backup /data) in the following thread:

Need help fixing bricked I9300

Hello there
I'm using an I9300 with TWRP and CM12.1. I also have a NANDROID backup sitting on my PC that was made through CWM (which the phone used to have before TWRP).
I tried to factory reset my I9300 running from inside the ROM rather than re-flashing it, and now my device is stuck in TWRP bootloop. I cannot access either the ROM or TWRP, the only thing I can access is download mode. Can anyone please help me resolve the issue? I haven't used Odin since rooting the device years ago and I can't find any guide for this specific procedure so I'm kinda lost.
Follow the guide in general forum, sticky thread on returning to stock.

Unauthorized Software error. Please help...

Hello,
hoping someone can assist.
I have the note7 and install magisk. The phone rebooted amd then got the message that
Security error this phone jas been flashed with unauthorized software......
Is there anyway to get past this and undo this. I really dont want to restore the phone. And need to back a few items back. Please help me....
my experience
Hello.
I had a similar problem, when I had installed viper4android, without the debbuging mode on.
Couldn't acess to twrp, only download mode, so I needed to install the firmware with odin, get root acess, reinstall the twrp, and after reinstall my favorite rom. Of corse, all my data was lost in the process, but I can't see other way. Without twrp, how can one flash anything?
Maybe you can try to flash with odin just the bootloader and the modem, to see if it works. If not, just the firmware will solve the problem, I think.
Do what I m saying
