I have a Chinese (purchased in the UK) Jiake jk760 (I think its a clone of a Samsung Galaxy A5) running kit Kat 4.4.2.
I'm unable to install the Google + app.
It works fine on my Huawei Ascend Y330 running 4.2.2 jelly bean and my Samsung Galaxy S i9000 running lollipop 5.1.1
Any ideas?

Yeah. Most Google Apps are banned in China so most devices don't have the proper files to run it. Also clones tend to run fake software so to speak. The hardware is almost never right as are other things.
I'm running all the latest Google apps.
YouTube, play, I download the latest apks from apk mirror, so I know theres nothing amiss there, plus is the only app u can't install, I just get an error after the installation has finished ....... App not installed.
I thought someone may have a pop about the phone......seems strange all the other Google apps work fine just not plus!

Just a comparison of the A5 and the jk760.
Anyone that's says or thinks the software is a naff on the Chinese phone, think again, if there was a Google apps issue then nothing would work.
Every Google app I can think of works on this phone..but plus doesn't
The phone runs stock 4.4.2, no bloat, it has launcher3 or a touchwiz look a like launcher, and the only Google app installed is play store and I've updated that to the latest 5.5.8 version available here on xda.
And it's a mediatek 6572 1.3ghz dual core with 1gb ram.
Quite fast to be honest.
So I just wandered why this one app don't work..........

Hi guys, I'm on temasek unofficial cm10 and I would like to install this app, lovebyte, but when I search on play store, it cannot find the shop, only on the browser version could it find the shop, but however the play store says it's incompatible with my device, can someone help me just to try and install it to see whether this app is incompatible with s3 in general or is it just because of the Rom I'm using?

it might actually be both the rom and the app being that the app hasnt updated to jelly bean support however u may download it from the net and install it

Does anyone have a direct download to the Sky+ app apk file? I've looked all over the place and can't find it anywhere. As you probably know Sky's twitter and developer account was hacked on Sunday by the Syrian Electronic Army and Sky have removed all their apps from Google Play.

Sky+ apk
Hi all,
Does anyone have a link to download android Sky+ 4.0.0.apk. The latest update to v4.2.0 has lost some functions. I used to be able to watch recordings from my Tab2 7.0. I tried v3.0.2 with no joy.

I have got version 4.2.0 (186907) of the Sky+ app, but the latest version on the Play store is 4.2.2.
Since I upgraded my Nexus 7 to KitKit, the app constantly crashes. I read on the Sky forum that this problem has now been fixed.
Unfortunately, the Play store will not let me download the latest app (outside of the UK) so could someone please send me the latest version as an apk file?

ATT Mega. Group play needs to update, it downloads but fails to install. Anyone have update apk files?

I wish I could. But he figured out what I was talking about and his update won't install either. I just converted him from iPhone so he doesn't really know much about what he is doing.

Noooooo its a Mega problem. Note 3 has version 2.5 and Mega has 2.0. They won't work together properly when you can actually get in the megas group play app.
I pulled the group play from her note 3 and it will not install on the Mega. Check the group play feedback in Samsung apps store. Almost all complaining Mega so t update

The problem is the app shouldn't be attempting to update in the first place. If you are quick enough to select one of the options before the update message comes up then you can bypass the update and use the app. The problem is on Samsung's end and is not the device itself. As stupid as it may sound the app is only supported on Galaxy Note 3 and the S4. Why that is I have no idea but its a joke on Samsung's part since they preloaded it on the phones. If you go to samsung app store on desktop computer it shows this as well. F* you Samsung you suck in my book now.

i got it all worked out after rooting. backed up the group play, removed it, installed the note 3 group play and it worked but would force close creating. removed note 3 group play and reinstalled the older version the mega came with. went into samsung app store, update still failed. uninstalled via samsung market, while staying on the group play app page, reinstalled and now it works normal with the updated version
confusing i know. its not as good as the note 3 group play. i grabbed the games thru the wifes note 3 too and it plays well with the mega note on group play games. Mucis doesnt work between the two.
Group play is a joke on the mega. I read somewhere the 4.4 update supposed to fix it all. so 1 more year before att update mega to 4.4
New at&t ota update fixes the problem. I dont have any issues with Group Pl a y since updating.

I mistakenly installed the 4.4 KitKat Launcher which updated Google Now, and since I don't have root (and one doesn't appear to exist yet), I'm stuck unless I do a full wipe. Anybody know of where to download the stock Google Now apk for 4.3? I'd rather not wipe over this one small issue, but maybe I'll have to. Thanks in advance.
I don't know where on xda to find one, but you can just download 'team blackout updater' from the play store and download one of themed Google now apk's they offer.
But if you're problem with the 4.4 Google now is just the force closing, all you have to do is switch the language to something else then switch back to fix it.

Hah, nevermind. Just discovered the Uninstall Updates button. Reverted back to stock app and it's fine now.

dear all,
after checking with post related to shortcut, i think i am safe to say i maybe having a different case:
1. Bought this lenovo A766 from China and created shortcut of my favorite app to home screen for faster and easier access. after sometime, the shortcut to my favorite app changes to a URL link and points to lenovomm.com to the same app but in chinese version (with maybe smaller file size). This annoys me and thou that maybe is the lenovo installed app store 'LeShop' or '乐商店' changes the app shortcut to point to their chinese version app.
So after freezing the lenovo app 'LeShop' or '乐商店' using titanium, hoping to resolve this issue, only to find the problem comes back today, after 1 month of freezing. Hence to know is not the 'LeShop' or '乐商店' problem. maybe from some lenovo app issue. does anyone have this issue?
2. i do notice when i install say whatsapp from google play, after sometime, the lenovo app store says there is an update of whatsapp (and with smaller file size) and without knowing any issue, i 'updated' whatsapp from lenovo's app store. funny part is, usage and everything seem the same even with less file size (from the original whatsapp from goggle play). then after sometime, google play store says an update is for whatsapp and update over the version from lenovo store.
then again, after sometime later, lenovo repeated the process to replace the version from google play. this been happening not just whatsapp but with app like facebook and other popular app too. again, anyone has this issue?
i do not face such issue when i use lenovo s560 with ROW rom.
if any seniors knows how to resolve this issue. please kindly share with me.

Lenovo A766 IMEI Problem

I bought my lenovo a766 last month..after that the launcher was upgraded and my phone easily crash..now i flash my phone with A766_S117_130913 build number and V4 baseband...but the network was unable to restore...i need help for get back my network connection ..I think maybe my IMEI was problem or NVRAM file was crushed...I hope u can help me solve this problem...thank you..reply me as soon as possible..
