Depends on the generation of device and your current FireOS firmware version. If you device is a newer model with 2.5 GHz processor there currently no alternative roms options; you're stuck with FireOS. If you have an older device with Fire OS 4.5.x your only 'pure' Android option is Nexus which is based on JellyBean (Android 4.2). You'll have to go through some gyrations including rolling back to a prior version of Fire OS and installing a multi-boot tool called Safestrap. If you have some other combination of hardware/software report back and someone will guide you through options.

Hi, I am new here and fairly new to installing roms. I wish to know if I'm eligible for roms and what roms I am able to flash on my device.
I have a Kindle Fire HDX 7"
I have safestrap installed, and a backup of my stock just in case I screw up and I am rooted.
There is only one early alpha rom at this time, other than the factory rom.

Are you sure you want to deal with Lollipop bugs ?!? Instead, I suggest that you could go to rooted 4.5.4 with fully working GAPPS :

Hi XDA,
I currently have cm11 safestap version installed on my kindle fire hdx 7. Just to confirm, that is the latest cm version i can install on it with safestrap because my kindle is running OS 4.5.5, correct? Will there be more cm versions made for safestrap? thanks. Also my kindle is rooted with super su but i dont know how to update the su binaries. If possible can u also gives me instructions to download the supersu pro apk. Thank you.
I got Fire HD 7(2014) which already have TWRP v2.2.0 and CM 10.1 custom rom installed. Can any one tell me or guide how can I fresh flash FireOS on it and its bootloader?
Thanks
Hey guys,
do you know of any way to put Fire OS on a Galaxy Tablet S4? I want to use our Kids unlimited and the Fire OS Kids profiles on that tab.
There is no nice way to do so on normal Android.
Fire OS is based on a very old version of android and has a lot of device-specific drivers baked in. No way are you going to be able to flash FireOS on a Galaxy Tab. That being said, there may be a way to install the "Kids" app on other android devices.
