Hey guys,
do you know of any way to put Fire OS on a Galaxy Tablet S4? I want to use our Kids unlimited and the Fire OS Kids profiles on that tab.
There is no nice way to do so on normal Android.
Fire OS is based on a very old version of android and has a lot of device-specific drivers baked in. No way are you going to be able to flash FireOS on a Galaxy Tab. That being said, there may be a way to install the "Kids" app on other android devices.

Hi, I want to install android on sd-card of my HTC HD2
Were can I download Android software MCCE SE 3.4 (Zip)???????
Thank U!
you cant install android on an sdcard:laugh: Its not a portable os like ubuntu.
Android can only be installed on your phone, and only if it is made for your specific phone. For example, if I find a custom android os for the nexus 7, I cant install it on my nook hd. The only android devices that can boot from an sdcard are the note 2, and nook tablets(only the android ones), and for that you must be rooted

Depends on the generation of device and your current FireOS firmware version. If you device is a newer model with 2.5 GHz processor there currently no alternative roms options; you're stuck with FireOS. If you have an older device with Fire OS 4.5.x your only 'pure' Android option is Nexus which is based on JellyBean (Android 4.2). You'll have to go through some gyrations including rolling back to a prior version of Fire OS and installing a multi-boot tool called Safestrap. If you have some other combination of hardware/software report back and someone will guide you through options.
Hi!
I have a Amazon Fire HD 7 [ARIEL].
I am gonna get flamed for asking this but... yeah.
Can someone guide me to port firefox os, or ubuntu os, Or any android rom for the fire hd 7?
Can someone make it?
Can someone guide me?
Thanks!
yeah even i want this to happen i want cyanogen mod on fire hd 6/7
That would be great.Unfortunately, there are no custom roms yet for the 4th gen ariel tablet but there is one for the 5th gen .
I recently purchased a Roku Express and want to cast (screen mirror) from a Nook HD+. I have CM14 (Android 7.1.1) installed on the HD+, but when I select Settings>Device>Cast the tablet does not find the Roku device (although it does find my Google Home Mini). I also have a Samsung Tab A 10.1 running OEM Android 7.0 with the same problem (feature?). However, I am able to find and screen mirror using my Samsung S4 mini running CM13 (Android 6.0.1).
I have read that Android dropped native support for miracast from recent releases, which I suspect may be the problem. While the HD+ is a great tablet, it doesn't get a lot of use now that I have the Tab A. So I'm thinking of installing an earlier version of CM to see if this solves the problem. I am using TWRP 3.1.1-0 for recovery purposes.
Here are my questions. Is there any danger or problem when installing an older version of CM over a newer one? If this doesn't solve the problem, will my backup of the current OS reinstall without a problem? Are there reasons why this may not be a good idea? Is there another option to implement screen mirroring?
Thanks!
Hello,
Yes, I know this phone is old and I'm hoping someone will help me but I have a Motorola Droid Turbo 2 and the battery is about to go bad and I also broke me MicroUSB port so I have to wirelessly charge it. I want to go back to my Samsung Galaxy S4 which it's on Android 5.0.1.
Before I got this Samsung Galaxy S4 had the same phone but I broke the LCD when I went to replace the screen which it ran Android 4.4.4, it was rooted, and had the SafeStrap custom recovery on it. This Samsung Galaxy S4 is on Android 5.0.1 and I saw a custom ROM that can make the phone run on Android 7.1 or Oreo so I want to do that to get the phone almost up-to-date close to my Motorola Droid Turbo 2.
I rooted using Kingroot so the first question is how to make SuperSU the main root permission.
I tried to use TWRP but it mess the stock recovery up so now it goes to Odin mode, the second question is how can I get a custom recovery to unlock the bootloader.
Lastly, what is the best ROM, I see the CM is nothing anymore and I saw a ROM called "LineageOS 14.1" which run Android 7.1.1, so the ROM I like to see haves at least Android 6 or newer and if there isn't any then what is the best Android 5.0 ROM.
--Here is the Phone info---
Model number: SCH-I545
Android version: Android 5.0.1
Baseband version: I545VRSGPL1
Kernel version 3.40
Build number: LRX22C.I545VRSGPL1
Keep in mind I'm little rust on rooting and custom ROM. I haven't done a custom ROM since the Droid 1 days. Please make it noob friendly as possible. I'm using a Linux OS right now but if I need a Windows OS I got one.
Thank you!

You're stuck on 5.0.1. forget about upgrading past 5.0.1. not going to happen. Ever.

Only the MDK bootloader can boot ROMS based on Android 6, 7, 8, etc. Once you've updated past MDK, you can't go back.
