I ordered a new housing off of ebay and its a black dopod replacement. Although i dont have a front cam i took care of the hole and placed a block of styrofoam in the slot during installation. The case came in three parts black front grey middle and black back. I used the black front and the black back. I kept the black middle from the original Cingular 8525 Case. It left me with a sleek all black case that does nothing but impress. Check my other post to view a solution to your missing rubber external antenna cover.
any pics mate?

Thx for the pictures!
It looks nice. I don't know if the buttons fit on my TyTn. But that's a question of Googling and searching.
It does look really nice!
Custom Battery Doors?
So we can all agree that the Developer Version of the G1 has a pretty sweet custom battery cover. Anybody know of anywhere making similar products?I expected to find a whole slew of decorated covers in all sorts of colors by now, but I searched Ebay and some online shops and no dice.
Re: Custom Battery Doors/Plastics on Dummy G1s
Have you considered picking up a dummy G1 (like they use in retail displays) cheaply on eBay? They may use the same casing parts - if anyone knows, please tell me?
I'm thinking about getting one of the dummies and respraying the plastics purple, then swapping the plastics with the ones on my G1 (using the instructions in the service manual that showed up on the interwebs).

Sure, I'll get around to a picture in a few days.

I painted mine a while back. Sanded it down first, to get rid of the rubberized texture (for the paint to stick better).

That battery cover is not white lol. It more like gold/silver/copperish?
I asked the seller and he told me that indeed it was white, but you never know its ebay
I think that may be the UK one.
Apparently when the G1 Pictures first came out the UK white G1 Variety had a white back cover.
I have the white G1 in the U.S. and It has a Silver/Greyish battery cover.
I have had the problem that the "Softtouch" has started to fade and there is a visible copperish color coming through. The inside of the cover is in fact white, so I guess you could clean a grey one off and use it as white.
T-mobile paid (Through account credit) the cost of 15 dollars plus S&H to replace mine from HTC. I ordered the Black one so I would not have this problem again. Now my Phone is white in front, with a grey stripe around it and a black back. Looks Storm Trooperish.
all white (except keyboard)

Is it even possible to replace all of that? If I can find one without the logo in all white I would definately want one, but wouldn't it be too difficult to replace all of it?

yup, so possible in fact, that HTC wrote a manual on how to do it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468673
ok, not a whole manual, but it's in there somewhere.
also it looks pretty fkin hard to do, i don't trust myself tbh =/
doesn't
it doesn't really look that difficult. just follow the directions. time consuming yes. i wouldn't do it unless i found one without the t-mobile logo, that would be a waste of time. if i could find one with no logo i'd be so happy. i hate advertising for free
i have a white UK G1 and the back is the same glossy white as the rest of the phone...
the white paint is holding up brilliantly as well and as i said is the same glossyness as the front... so white front, silver trim with a white back.

I am having this same problem. I know a guy who has done the same as you but he didn't have to pay for the cover. He went in to T_Mobile and told them the problem and said he wanted a black back piece and they just gave him one. As for myself, I may just do the same.
I like the black back
I just paid up front for it, T-mob credited my account for it.
I like the black back, looks kind of Storm-Trooperish.
While a Glossy white one is most appealing to me, (I consider myself lucky to even have a white G1). I think it will be a while before white battery covers become available OEM, until then the grey back looks like its really dirty around the edges, so the white one gives the phone a more polished look.
External cover need
where can i buy a external cover? not comes with battery.. i ony need external cover (door) because mine broken. need a new one
Has anyone used these?
They're the only site I can find that allows you to make a custom decal, I want to make one with some of my favourite pictures all over it lol.
Just wondering if the decals actually cover the whole phone, leaving no visible black casing? And also is the tough anti scratch deal really as good as they say it is?
Thanks,
Steve.
yes i actually have it on my phone right now, no it doesnt cover the whole phone. Just the front and back. The sides are not covered. Hope this helps

Any pics mate?
The more expensive one for $19.99 is the one i'm looking at. It's the scratch resistant ultra tough thing and judging by the designer that one does cover the sides:
http://www.uniqueskins.com/design.php?prod=920&opt=1648
But when I meant does it cover the whole phone I meant in size wise, for example is it a perfect fit or is the front decal slightly too small or too big etc.
you should look on ebay. they sell 3 skins for like $10 more or less, and theyre pretty good. they dont really offer any real protection because theyre more like decals/vinyls but what i do(and apparently the seller too) is i put the skin on, then over that i put a clear case. looks really good
they fit well also. the only thing i think you might not like is the part that goes on the back, it covers the back well, but just doesnt cover the corners. these arent super high tech skins. basic. but! the quality of the picture/design on the skin is amazing

I want a custom Decal of all my pics of me any my mates hence why using UniqueSkins.
Great
I just bought a custom scratch resistant skin from there and they are excellent in quality luckily I had found a coupon and paid only 15 dollars with shipping.
I have ordered mine, cost was $19.68 with 25% off coupon (am in the UK, selected the UPS shipping).
Once it arrives, I'll do a mini review and post a few coupons.
Does every part of the skin get colored or do parts remain transparent ?
For example if i make a simple logo will the skin be the logo on a colored background or the logo and the rest is clear ?
sry double.

I think anything not covered will be printed in white, I'm not 100% sure because I covered everything but if you add just 1 item and press preview anywhere you haven't covered is in white.
However I can confirm that anything you upload which is transparent, stays transparent. So you could make a solid black block to stretch across the skin then make the background of your image transparent.
When you guys put these wet apply's on, before you let it set are there small bubbles? Like when I put my Skinomi on, I pushed out all the smaller bubbles I could. But there were still a few I couldn't get out. After about two days they were still there? So are you to keep applying it until there are no smaller bubbles? or once it sets they're suppose to vanish? Also I noticed when I applied it, the skin itself or behind it was really cloudy, I used the spray that came with it and cleaned the tablet before hand. It cleared up some after two days but it still was noticeable. Is this normal? I followed the instructions that came in the tube and watched their video before trying it. I ended up removing the protector and calling Skinomi support for a replacement. I just wanted to know if this is normal, as this is my first wet apply.
On my phones, I can pretty much always get all bubbles out during the application process.
Once dried, they look perfect (usually ).

I'll be trying this out on the TF too. I hope it doesn't go all wrong, lol.
You returned the G2x also? How's the HD2 holding up?
I just bought and installed a Skinomi Techskin Carbon Fiber skin for my Titan. I installed it as stated and now have No Service.
Where I used to have 3 bars, now I have "Emergency Only". If I set the phone in a window, I can get 1 bar and text messages etc.
I thought the skin would actually help insulate the phone from my hand for better signal, but it seems to do the opposite as it covers the plastic bottom of the phone as well.
Has anyone else seen this issue? Maybe I will rip off the skin and report back!
I put mine on a few days ago and have had no problems with signal.
Thanks Dragon Queen.
I actually had AT&T send me a new phone and I put the skin on that one with no issues. My phone dying and the new skin must have been a coincidence.
Love the skin by the way!
