No Signal - Techskin Carbon Fiber - HTC Titan

I just bought and installed a Skinomi Techskin Carbon Fiber skin for my Titan. I installed it as stated and now have No Service.
Where I used to have 3 bars, now I have "Emergency Only". If I set the phone in a window, I can get 1 bar and text messages etc.
I thought the skin would actually help insulate the phone from my hand for better signal, but it seems to do the opposite as it covers the plastic bottom of the phone as well.
Has anyone else seen this issue? Maybe I will rip off the skin and report back!

I put mine on a few days ago and have had no problems with signal.

Thanks Dragon Queen.
I actually had AT&T send me a new phone and I put the skin on that one with no issues. My phone dying and the new skin must have been a coincidence.
Love the skin by the way!

hermes aluminium case?

I'm searching for a metal case for my new hermes. Anybody found one yet?
I tried it on ebay, but there are aluminium cases for wizard only.
signal killer
May I suggest that you don't buy a metal case for your Hermes. I am a long time Wizard owner (looking to buy a Hermes as soon as I can). I have had an aluminum case and always wondered what was killing my signal. If you do a search over in the Wizard forums you will see that those cases just kill your signal. Maybe the Hermes has some improvements, but I would be careful. Just thought I would save you from some frustration (and maybe some wasted money!) It's a shame, cause I love those cases as well.
Anyone found an aluminum case that would work yet? I have always hated leather cases never used an aluminum one, I just know I am gonna tear the screen up if I dont have something hard rotecting it while its in my pocket, basically I would be usin it in a manner like somebody would a sunglasses case, take it out when its in use, and put it back when its not..etc, and I'm not that important, if I miss a call due to bad signal, its no biggie.
Indeed. Aluminium does a good job of absorbing radiation. Sadly GSM is affected by it as well.
Well I haven't seen that at all with the Vario I get the same signal wether I have the case or not
Really? Vario was... a.... Wizard, was it?
Aye
You can find aluminium cases (silver or black) for the TyTN at www.pdair.com
i just received my PDAir aluminium case, it makes the device looks thicker. but at least u wont have to worry about cracking the LCD screen!
my previous ipaq pda and verizon vx6600 got LCD screen cracked due to sitting on it. i dont like to wear it on the belt, i like to put the pdaPhone in the pocket
I just received my aluminium case too. Here is a little information and some pictures I can provide.

I'd be very interested in any subjective assesments of the impact on signal strength, and battery life, as a result of using one of these cases.
I'd like one, but not if it significantly hampers the signal, or substantially drains the battery as a result of a need to run at higher transmission strength.
Until now ( exceed 12 hrs ), I didn't find any signal reduction. I have no problems calling out and accepting incoming calls while my hermes still wearing alumium case all the time.
I got mine PDAir case a couple of days ago. No reall problems really. nicely made, looks good (black one), and the belt clip is pretty good. Only one droped call, but I had one or two droped calls from home without the case, so I don't think it is the case. Overall I would recommend it.
If I get time over the weekend, I might post some hi rez photos of the black case with the Orange SPV 3100.
Ordered and received the black version from PDAir, I had ordered the invisible shield first, so my TyTN fit a bit too tight in the aluminum case cause of the shield..but it went in.
I am currently using this sucker so much that I really didn't like to have to flip the case open all the time to use it, I debated on removing the plastic window from the case, but just opted to throw it on the shelf within the first 15 minutes of opening the package.
I didt use it long enough to notice battery drain, but the signal strength was the same with or without the case, also the case hinges on the right hand side to allow it to remain in the case while using the keyboard..but it feels a bit weird, almost like its designed for a left handed person...hard to explain.
Well, I have had mine for about a week and I will say this,... THANK GOD! as I have dropped it since I've had the case and well,... IT WORKS!!!
I can get to all of the buttons AND even the antenna, it also ascut out for my lanyard that I use. Everything is accessable including the microSD card (why I don't know). It is a little difficult to get to some of the buttons with my big "sausage" fingers but it still serves the purpose that I need.
Unless I find a better case (which I haven't seen plans for) I sticking with this one.
PDAIR Great job!
I dropped my Tytn off the couch a few times after passin out while hangin out on IRC, the invisible shield worked very well...but I decided I would give the aluminum case another go..I removed the clear window and then thought the black case looked crappy around the silver phone, so I started to sand it down to polish it, I got all of the front cover sanded and part of the back, and went to see how it looked around the phone...I just held the phone and positioned the top cover over it, and then I noticed the screen flicker...I'm not sure if I missed this before I sanded it, because then I checked with different wallpapers and its not really noticeable with some and it only happens when the case is over it...kinda strange I thought, considering the phone has an aluminum bezel already around the screen from the factory, and I also did notice I would drop a bar on the signal if I wasn't in a strong area.
As many people making aftermarket stuff out of carbon fiber nowdays...I can't believe someone hasn't started making them for phone's/pda's
Its relatively cheap, and a lazy route of making them could be done by just vacuum forming one from an already made aluminum case.
What about Bluetooth? Does aluminium case shields it signal?
Got a black aluminium case from Boxwave. Looks and fits fine. Didn't notice any Bluetooth signal degradation so far.
BTW PDAir and Boxwave cases look identical - most likely both have the same OEM producer.
Got my aluminum case from dealone.com
Had my case since day two with my Cingy 8525. No problems noted, glad I have extra protection as I'm always bumping into things walking. Tables, chairs, etc. Mine is the monaco aluminum case in black. Absolutely love it!

Just order 1 from there.

Full Body Coverage

I buy the Full Body Coverage of DEVDEF, is amazing my phone now is like Black piano i loved, and full protected for scratch i recomend to other user to try.

Bye
I bought their screen only protector and loving it! The first screen protector out of several dozen I used in the past 5 years that installed easily and without any bubbles! It was scary at first to use the "wet application" procedure but, hey, it worked like a charm! Highly recommended!
I should try their full body option...
This looks good, but I'm looking forward to some cases being designed specifically for the Optimus 7. Has anyone seen these around? My carrier, Telus (Canada), hasn't gotten any yet and I already got a scratch on my phone's screen!
What are you talking about? My Optimus 7 from Telus came with a screen protector, which I have yet to take off...it is working well so far, and I am waiting until bestskinsever has a skin for this phone.
ordered...
I ordered the devdef full body kit from the UK... it was like $15 ... I'll give a review when I get it.
I've ordered mine on Dec.28 and received it today. Fast shipment considering it's free and I'm a few thousand miles far.
But I didn't like it at first. The cut is not so perfect, and at least until now (after 1 hour installed), the display's image is not so good. I'll wait the first 24~48h before made a "final judgement" about DevDef for Optimus 7.
I cant find a better one. I want a leather one but there is no

My LG is open-market, and it had original foil protectors on the screen and on the back-cover. I have been using my phone for 6 months, and on LCD protection foil there are no any signs of scratch. On a foil protecting back cover there are only two small places where air entered between foil and cover. I am not intending to use any kind of additional protectors as long as is possible to user original foils.
I bought a screen protector from a random store and a Gelaskin full body protector skin against scratches & it looks awesome, take a look in Gelaskins Website with lots of choices for the LG Optimus 7. Probobly you will find something you like.
I made my own design with Linkin Park ^^
I got pics but since I only got 2 post I cant link or upload them yet...
Are this type of cover better than a rigid case? They only provide scratch protection not shock protection?

Question - those who applied skin for tfp dock....

Did you remove the foil sticker beside the trackpad before sticking the skin???
Was thinking the foil sticker looks nice on the dock so will be a waste to remove it..
However I'm worried that if I stick the transparent skin without removing the sticker, there'll be ugly bubbles...
Anyone tried the skin with the sticker on?
I removed the foil sticker as soon as I took the dock out of its box
However the sticker won't cause bubbles. If you apply the skin correctly the worst you will see is a very slight line of trapped air around the edge of the sticker. It won't look bad or even really be noticeable at all unless you look very closely.

Ah I See. Thank you!
where can I find a skin for the TFP dock?
I removed my sticker, but the skin will go on with or without it no problems. Won't look funny or anything.
^You can get the dock skins from skinomi.

Yupz! You can get it from skinomi. I used a code to get 25% off! Should still be working since I used it last week only.
Code is "get25 "
My Skinomi just arrived today and it feels good to the touch. I haven't installed it yet...I will do that later next week.
just leave it on. no bubbles whatsoever =p

brand skin and spigen case/nexus logo change

Wanted a white one, but Verizon only carried the blue. So I did some research and ended up with this.
I took it upon myself to make a quick visual mod to the phone, then used a dBrand matte white skin to recolor the back of the phone. Turned out pretty well I think. First "visual" mod to the external portion of a phone that I've tried.
Well done, looks great :good:

Surface Duo with skin- Green screen issue.

Hi,
My Surface Duo developed the green screen issue on the right screen after its first full day of usage.
Lucky me!
It was replaced by Microsoft under the Advanced warranty replacement, and I’m hoping when it arrives with them later today they will not then charge my CC. Anyways, the new unit is working really well. I had put a skin on my original SD to protect it, and to hide a metal plate under the skin, that I planned to use to mount in the car. Had it actually worked for long enough before the green screen, for me to actually use it in the car .
I would like to fit a skin to the replacement Duo, but am now unsure.
Could someone tell me if there is any link between having a skin on the SD and the green screen issue? Have any of you used a skin on your Duo for a length of time and had no green screen issue. I’m just worried that if I put a new skin on this Duo, I will get the green screen issue again, but at the same time do want the extra protection a skin will give from scratches etc.
I do appreciate any advice anyone might give.
Thanks
Duncan
