Hi guys,
I have been running CM12.1 but have gotten very tired of not having qi charging. The only ROM I have been able to find that is 5.0+ with wireless charging is skydragon, but it borked my bluetooth with my car stereo.
I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for roms that are 5.0+ with wireless charging. I would even be willing to go back to stock rooted if there was any easily flashable zip that is pre rooted.
Thanks a lot guys!

skydragon and jasmine, or modified stock roms, are the only ones wireless charging works.
Cool, I'll try Jasmine. It should work on stock kernels, but I couldn't get my phone to boot with skydragon unless I selected the modified kernel. I see if Jasmine gives me the same bluetooth issues. I was reviewing the thread for jasmine and searched for charging but I could not find any verification if wireless charging was working. Someone asked, but there was no response.
Thank you!

its stock based, it works, trust me.
Well the wireless charging on jasmine works great just like skydragon. Sadly, also just like sky dragon the bluetooth cuts out constantly with my kenwoord stereo. I'm assuming it's a kernel issue since I have zero problems with the bluetooth on CM12 and 12.1. I guess it's back to my s5 if I want bluetooth and wireless charging to work correctly.
Thanks for the recommendations though!

which ROM does it not work for you with? Also the adaptor needs to be powered by micro usb , and the order that the cables get connected seems to matter. Connect to phone last, trial and error for other two.

I'm on CM 11-20140104-NIGHTLY-e970
Monitor: ACER AL1917W (DVI connection)
Micro USB-DVI adapter: iKross MHL
Connecting LGOG last indicates no connection. I am certain LGOG is powering since screen remains on.
It is why I ask if returning to SnowLeopords stock rom will restore MHL.

You could likely even just use a different AOSP-base rom, no need to go all the way back to 4.1.
I know for a fact that Houstonn's 4.3 PA builds work with MHL, and I believe the official CM10.2 build also work.

I can confirm it is working on Beanstalk 4.4 also , using Samsung MHL that came with Infuse.
Do you know what kernel has MHL support for CyanogenMod?

I installed the Beanstalk 4.4 rom which included the slimkat kernel. The mhl worked. I purchased a rocketfish adapter and plugged it into my hdmi tv and all seemed well. Unfortunately my LGOG started to get very hot. I reverted to my old CM 4.4 with cm kernel and heat problem solved but alas no mhl output.

cm10.2 mhl works. Joy.
Edit: Recent developments suggest I was wrong regarding the 10.2 rom. I reinstalled it and it seems to be working fine. I cannot get my dvi monitor to work but my hdmi tv works great. So I must purchase an hdmi monitor in order to have my LGOG serve as my desktop PC.
My thanks to OMGMatrix for suggesting 10.2 as a solution.
@XDFernando, try the 10.2. I think you will find it easy to get along with.
CM11 now supports mhl
I upgraded from 10.2 to 11 last night and tried connecting to my hdtv and lo-an-behold it mirrored my LGOG, even rotated the view.
I have also not working
CM11 MHL Working
I'm pleased to announce that I have reached my goal of replacing my desktop computer with my LGOG. I use bluetooth mouse and keyboard and connect my LGOG to an $80 LED HDTV via MHL adapter. I was inspired by this blog http://www.livingdigitally.net/2012/02/using-a-mobile-device-as-a-desktop-computer.html. YouTube videos now play through MHL without a problem. My thanks to the CM11 post by shellnut. I'm using the latest CM11 nightlies with the gapps-kk-20140105 and 3.4.0-CM+ kernel. Pretty neat.
My Evo3D GSM is charging in the cradle with stock rom and many other ROMs I recently used.
Now I am testing the LiquidSmooth 3.1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2638534. This ROM looks great but the phone does not charge in cradle.
It charges properly after reverting to stock ROM od CM 10.1 http://www.android-hilfe.de/custom-...ial-cyanogenmod-10-1-4-2-2-19-feb-2013-a.html.
Any ideas? Am I missing an option somewhere in CM 11 (4.4.4) to make it charge in cradle?
Thanks

Well, I switched from LS-KK-v3.1-OFFICIAL-shooteru.zip to LS-KK-v3.2-2014-07-18-shooteru.zip and it's working again.
Odd!

Good morning all.
I have added wireless charging capabilities to the back plate of my LG G3. Charging wireless has been great on the phone. I switched over to CM11 for about a week to check out how stable the ROM is on our G3. I am aware that currently custom ROM's aren't configured to support wireless charging correctly, at least on the Official CM11 Nightlies anyways. So I went back to cable charging while I had CM11 installed.
Now the fun part. I decided to switch back to a nandroid I made of the stock ROM on my G3, which did not have any issues with wireless charging before I had installed CM11. Unfortunately, after performing a nandroid, my G3 still demonstrates wireless charging similar to CM11, i.e. does not charge worth a damn. I performed a full wipe on my phone, including data, cache, system, and dalvik cache, before restoring my nandroid. I'm at a loss as to why I would be experiencing the same wireless charging problems with a nandroid that worked perfectly before I had flashed a different ROM.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Extra Info:
Original ROM was rooted. I did not flash a custom kernel.
I installed Invisiblek's Official CM11 Nighty 11/30 ROM.

I thought I read somewhere the wireless charging issue was in the kernel, but I'm not sure stock would even boot on an aosp kernel. Not my area of expertise. Check your about phone and see if everything looks stock.

I find that strange it would give you trouble after a complete wipe and restore, although I am new to the LG phones and havent done a whole lot with it yet, I have always been an HTC guy, maybe try returning to stock with the LG flash tool, re-root etc and see if it fixes it, I am curious because I just ordered my wireless charging pad and didnt get to try it yet.

I took a look at the kernel. It was stock. I went ahead and flashed dragon's custom kernel. I'm gonna leave it on the charger again tonight. Hopefully your advice hits the mark.

It seems to be fixed with the custom kernel. Charged fully overnight .
Thanks for the quick responses.

All,
I have a VS985 running Illusion ROM from AT&T with 777 AOSP Kernel since I wanted to use Lollipop on GSM without being bugged by the Call Forwarding Bug.
I bought a QI charging back cover and a local QI charging pad. But there is a strange thing that's happening. Instead of charging the phone, it discharges the phone. I kept it on the charger and the Blue light lit up showing that its charging and it was at 50% when I kept it. After a few minutes it went down to 48% rather than increment.
Any clues why this is happening.
is the screen on when charging ? and also is your charger less than 2000milliamps. if not, you better quickly make a tinfoil helmet just in case.

This is not 100% accurate. From what I see across various forums, the non-Verizon variants seem to have on trouble with wireless charging (regardless of which custom rom they are running).
I have the VS985, and with the SkyDragon custom KKat rom (based of stock G3), and his kernel, I can wireless charge without issue. I haven't found a single AOSP lollipop rom that wireless charing works with.

my post is entirely accurate.
this is the verizon forum, and there are 0 custom roms (aosp/slim/cyanogen based) that have wireless charging working.
skydragon and jasmine are stock roms, thats why it works.
when someone says custom rom, they are generally not referring to stock based roms, because in comparison, there is really little custom about a stock based rom.
aosp, etc. are built from the ground up, with custom software. there is very little stock code used. thats why most stock things cant be transferred directly into a custom rom. the software is a completely different base.
so, you said i was wrong, then said this:

I've been forum and G+ Community hopping all day, and simply didn't realize I was in the VS985 forum specifically is all.

Hi,
I purchased the qi sticker for my phone cover and it worked fine when I was on the stock rom.
When I upgraded to CM 12.1, it showed that it was charging, but did not charge. Now that I am on BlissPop, the same thing, charging light goes on and it does not charge.
Is this a ROM issue or a QI sticker issue? I did buy the sticker on eBay (not sure how good it is).
Any thoughts or input would help.
Thanks,

Nope, that is an AOSP-based ROM.
Outside of stock, are there any non AOSP roms that work?
So.... you want something that is not based on either stock or AOSP? Forget Qi charging, how would this ROM be created?
I was under the impression that qi charging works with 777jon's AOSP kernel? There is some comments saying that it does as long as you don't overclock. I am back on stock and unable to test right now. Give it a try if you'd like.

Nothing is wiped when flashing a kernel. Just make a backup then flash the kernel.
Edit- If you're flashing the 777jon kernel to test QI charging with it, please report your results.
OK. I installed the kernel and still no qi. You mention over clocking. How do I make sure that it isn't over clocked out of the box? Are there any more steps I need to do?

Darn, I don't think it's overclocked out of the box but clock speeds are adjusted with Synapse app on that kernel.
