[Q] Difference between G925F and G925I? - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Just one question. I'm thinking of buying the s6 edge but just wondering what the actual difference between the two models are i.e. G925F and G925I.
Also, if I buy the G925F model, would I be able to flash the firmware for a G925I. I'm asking because they both have the same internals and, as far as I know, they're both identical except for those model numbers.
Sorry if this is a simple question; I'm relatively new to all this.
Thanks in advance!

I'd like to know this too. I have a G925F and would like to flash the G925I firmware in it. Can it be done ?

In pratice is the same, but I version have Brazil settings, and Brazil to hexa goes now...
I flashed roms in vce-versa versions... didnt change, just VolLTE in some cases (because CSC)

The only difference between these 2 models is that they support different radio frequencies

no hexa for us... this time

English and German SIII

Hi I just got two S3, one from England (Orange) and one from Germany (don't know the carrier).
I want to flash both of them but I see several categories for the S3, and don't know what software I can use or not. Can anyone tell me what I need to check or how do I know the ROMS that I can use?
Thanks in advance

You need to find out which model you have. The international version is going to be something like the GT-i9300. If the ROM you wish to flash says it's only for that model, do NOT attempt to flash it to a different model. Doing so may brick your device.
You can find more about the different models and some useful info in the wiki on XDA for the Galaxy S III variants.

Check the model number of both the phones in settings>about. If they are GT-I9300's then you can flash ROM's from this section. If it's something else DO NOT FLASH anything form this section. Check the model numbers given in the other sections (T-mobile, sprint..etc.. etc.,) before flashing.

[Q] SM-G920s to SM-G920F is it possible

Hi
I have a SM-G920S (SKtelecom) is it possible to change the firmware to made the unit think it is a SM-G920F model.
thanks
Hi
I am looking for the same answer.
I'm getting SM-G920S 64GB soon later this week. Can I flash SM-920S with SM-920F stock firmware?
Kind of away from Samsung devices since GS4.
I am living outside South Korea and I don't need those bloat on my phone.

Same problem here, i don't like the boot logo . Looking for answers if it could change with the Samsung logo
Nop different models, you only can flash a 920F to a 925F if you try to flash a 920F ROM on a 920S you most likely brick your phone

newbie needing help with Samsung S7 , SM-G891A to convert to SM-G891T

I bought and unlocked Galaxy S7 to get service on Tmobile network and the phone works fine but is an AT&T phone with
all the accompanying bloatware. I am in a bad cellular area for tmobile and depend on wifi calling as the signal is very weak.
The wifi calling on my purchased phone is grayed out which i found out through forums that AT&T has something to do with this.
I decided to root my phone and load firmware to Tmobile but have only found the process and firmware SM-G930T and not SM-G891T. The phone currently has SM-G891A, which is AT&T 's firmware. Baseband version G891AUCS4DRK1. I haven't been to find the right firmware for my phone. Can anyone help me? Thanks

Are you sure you didn't confuse device version with firmware version? SM-G891A
Is not a firmware, it's your phone model, which is of course galaxy S7.
But anyway, there is not Tmobile firmware for that model. Only 930T as you said.maybe could be possible to port the rom.
Can I use the firmware for the sm-g930t on the sm- g891a

I wouldn't recommend to flash it yet. Processors should be the same, as well as the screen size, for flash a different rom.

All the components are the same except for the battery size, hardened case and shatter proof screen

If battery isn't the same, power consumption could burn the phone.

Flashing SM-G9650 (Brazil) into SM-G965U1 (US)?

Hi. I want to flash a Brazilian firmware (dual SIM) into my US hardware (single SIM). Both are Snapdragon. Reason is that I want to use the Brazilian Samsung Pay. Bough the phone in the US but I live in Brazil.
Can I flash THIS ROM without problems? Will it trigger Knox? Any loss in functionality?
Thank you all.

not possible. also, is there not a CSC for your area you can flash instead?
I don't know why these guys say it's not possible, maybe it isn't with your model. I also don't want to give you any bad ideas or anything, so use your own discretion & research.
My phone was unusable when I did this, so I had nothing to lose when I did this (It worked though).
I easily flashed my canadian note 8 with a us firmware using modified odin (must be same version bootloader).
It has warranty status 0x0 (aka, Knox is NOT tripped).
AGAIN, I'm not advising you try this with your model, unless you know what you're doing. I just want to make the information available to you.
Edit: I'm just waiting for someone to upload snapdragon beta 3 one ui 2.0. I'm going to try the same method to convert my Canadian s9+ to USA version.
Edit 2: I can confirm this method works on my Canadian s9+ aswell.

Yeah I don't think it'll work on mine, since it's a single sim phone, and the ROM I wanted was for a dual sim version. Unless of course the hardware is the same and the second SIM slot is present. I could try, but I don't want to risk it. Maybe later when Sammy stops updating the phone.

Unfortunately not. The SM-G965U1 is the US unlocked version. There are only CSCs for American carriers.

if its truly unlocked, then you should already have the U1 firmware on it. Get modded Odin and the U1 firmware, flash it in Odin and go from there. I never looked back after ditching the carrier junk on my phone
Sometime ago I did somethinh like that on my Arabian S7 Edge that I bough in Paraguai, it was Dual Sim model and i flashed ZTO CSC via Odin, and the phone was working well, but i'm not sure if the reverse works, and even the models were similar (F vs FD version) in your case u have 965U vs 9650, I would not take that risk, i thing that a korean or chinese model is 9650 too
look at this picture, US version has more bands so the modem could be different, you can try but you're risking your phone

yep, they are different phones that just so happen to use the same processor. Different bootloader, same chassis for whatever reason. Anyways, there have been threads talking about converting the 9650 to a 965u, but ive never seen anyone confirming that it indeed works. Big risk, but as long as one can get back to Odin mode, one should be good.

I have a Japanese model. Is it possible to flash European firmware?

Hi there,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S9+ but it's a Japanese model (SC-03K) but now I'm in Europe and I realized that European models have more frequent updates and I wanted to ask you guys for help.
All the guides I find here are for "SM" models and I don't know if there are any hardware differences and if I can just flash one of those. I don't want to brick my device.
I'll attach some screenshots with information and hopefully, you can clear things out for me. I just want to know if it's possible to Just flash a European version of an S9+ onto this or if there's any way around it.
Here's an imgur post with info about the device: https://imgur.com/a/qs40aul
Thanks a lot in advance for your help!
Cheers!
