I always used "Car Home Ultra" as car-app on my S4. I triggered "carmode" on my S4, after which it tried to launch the default carmode-launcher. So, whenever you pressed the Home-button in Carmode, the carmode-launcher (Car Home Ultra, in my case) is shown, instead of the regular Touchwiz-launcher.
The problem: carmode can be triggered on the S6 (for example with Tasker), but it does not ask for the default carmode-launcher. When I open Car Home Ultra, it flips back to Touchwiz as soon as I press the home-button. Samsung's own Cardock-app, named "Car Mode" cán do this trick (opening at the press of the home-button when driving), but I do not like it due to limited capabilities.
Did anybody else get their Cardock-app to function as the default launcher when in Carmode?

Thanks, you just made my day!
No problem.

First off I'm new to the Gtab. I'm currently running Vegan 5.1. Everytime I hit my hard home button it takes me to a switchboard with four buttons. In order to get go my actual home screen I have to select the home icon. This is becoming extremely annoying hitting two buttons every time to get home. Is this normal or am I missing a setting?
What launcher are you using? There is usually a tab in the settings menu for what tapping the home key does.
I'm currently using the VLT launcher just released, but it does the same thing for stock launcher and launcher pro. I scoured the settings and can't find the home button setting. Saw it in Launcher pro but it didn't change anything. Not sure what else to try at this point.
The screen it sends me to appears to be the screen you see when you would place your phone on the dock. It has the alarm clock button, music, home, and gallery button on the bottom with only the time showing.
Button savior works correctly. Unfortunately I'm not a button savior fan. This its the only bug on my tab and its driving me nuts.
Just wanted to update. I read a lot of other Vegan users having this same issue. I ended up freezing the Clock app using Titanium and that corrected the issue. Not sure what other adverse effects that will cause but it worked for me.
Anybody have any other ideas how to fix this? I'm using TNT Lite 4.4 with Launcher Pro. I've set the home button to "Do nothing" in Launcher Pro preferences, and also checked the option that says "Home key to default screen" but neither one of those seems to have had an effect. Thanks!
I've run into a problem, that seems to have happened since updating to 1.8.3, but I am unsure if it happened immediately following update or not.
Whenever my phone is docked in the vehicle dock, when I press the 'home' button, the screen just flickers and does not go to the Car Home application. It just stays on whatever application I have active at the time. I have to go to the drop down menu and select the option to open Car Home instead. Cannot figure out how to fix this or have found any resolution on these forums.
Possibly relevant info:
Phone is 1.8.3, rooted with Gingerbreak.
No additional Car Home application installed.
Tasker set to deactivate lockscreen when docked (any type)
Tasker set to turn on bluetooth, max media volume, turn off notification volume and turn on GPS when docked to vehicle dock.
No settings have been changed since the 1.8.3 update.
Anyone have any ideas?
Hello,
On my old S1 I had CarHome app and whenever i pressed the home button it returned to the main scree not CarHome and not to the 'desktop' of the launcher
In S3 I tried already 4-5 CarHome like apps but all of them don't control the home button and when pressing it, it quits the CarHome app and goes to the main screen.
Is there any solution to that?
It was very convenient when in a car to switch between apps using this method, because in CarHome the icons are big and easy to locate and press.
Thanks
In my Sgs3 I used to have a coma selected as a default function for a button on the left side of a spacebar. Generally if you hold that button and select a function you want from a popup menu, it used to be that button selected function until you changed it. Now, for some reason, few days ago my samsung decided it will be a microphone button regardless of what I use in a popup menu. It drives me crazy, because I dont use voice recognition. I use comas quite often on the other hand. I would love to know what caused this sudden change of hearts. Ideas anzone_
Hi,
I got an S9+ a couple of months ago. Since I had little use for Bixby, and I kept accidentally hitting that key, I disabled said Bixby key. Also, I am using the Nova launcher because older Samsung and Asus phones and tablet taught me the efficiency of Infinite Scroll and I can't live without it anymore, so the leftmost desktop window dedicated to Bixby is gone and can be used for apps.
Now I tried to re-enable it and tadaaa, it's not possible. From what I have found so far, to launch Bixby you have to re-enable it, and to re-enable it you have to access the Settings menu when it is already launched . Sure, I can disable the Nova launcher, scroll to the leftmost stop-window with Bixby and re-enable the button. If it's still there, I don't dare look . But doing this every time I want to look at it will get old fast. So I was wondering whether there was a way to start Bixby without the button, like an app icon or something.
Thanks.
i disabled and wanted back so i hold screen down to home screen -> enabled bixby home -> swap right (to go left) -> enabled bixby key... dont know other way...that worked for me
