@VivaLaTacos here is that file you needed. Apparently you have to make a backup, then replace secondary folder with the secondary folder from this.
Good luck! Confirmed working by another. Hope you get it working!
you're the man!
Okay so @ Crazynapkinman has a stock/modded nandroid backup that he will be uploading to XDA. My process for getting that operational was to
1) Download his file and extract that file.
2) Following that. I rebooted into twrp and created a backup using the backup utility.
3) Now from your pc you will see a file by going into micro sd /twrp/backup.
4) There will be a folder there and within that another folder delete that second folder. Open the second folder of the download and move that folder to where you deleted that secondary folder.
5) Now you can go into restore and perform restore.

I need some advice. You lost me at "There will be a folder there and within that another folder delete that second folder". I keep getting an error 255. Should I have both the backup folders under TWRP/BACKUPS?
Storage/sdcard0 (or sdcard1 if external is where you save your backups)/TWRP/BACKUPS/YOUR-UNIQUE-BACKUP/folder
Delete that last folder from YOUR backup and replace it with the folder found in MY backup. It should have a similar name.
Then reboot into recovery and hit restore, then select your backup.
This is the steps you need to do to use this downloaded backup:
1. Download this Backup file
2. Connect your phone and make sure your computer can open the internal storage
3. Extract this Backup file you downloaded
4. On your computer navigate to XT1526/Internal Storage/TWRP/BACKUPS/{YOUR PHONE'S SERIAL #} Folder
5. Drag and drop the extracted folder that has the TWRP backup files inside it into the {YOUR PHONE'S SERIAL #} Folder
6. Disconnect your phone from your computer and reboot into TWRP and go to Restore selection and restore this backup!!
Hope this helps you guys who were trying to figure out how to use it, if I've helped you please hit the Thanks button

just save as .txt then change the extension to md5 using file explorer or similar.
if you long press on a file in file explorer it should popup with some options. Select rename and change the extension from txt to md5

Today I wanted to see what the JellyBean for SGS III is like so I made a nandroid backup of my current setup. After playing with JB for a while, I wanted to restore the backup, but I was greeted with an error message.
I've been messing with this the entire F****** day and so far I've isolated the file that is corrupted (it's /system/app/Keystring_factory.apk).
So I need to delete that file from within the archive. The problem is how do I do that? When I try to copy the file to my computer, it hangs on it and says "corrupted file" (tried windows explorer but also total commander). I am able to open the archive on my SGS III using something like ZArchiver, but it doesn't have the option to delete the file from within the archive.
Help?

U can extract cwm with titanium backup or use a file explorer to extract the backup and delete the file then zip it.
But I would flash a new Rom and extract cwm with TB and restore the parts u need with TB.then when all is good make a new backup.
I don't think it's a good idea to restore a corrupted file even if u find the errors
Btw. Fayaab has tweeted that he is going to release a JB for gs3 tomorrow and this should be working
Tried that too, Titanium got stuck at the file. 7-Zip got stuck even when "Testing Archive". I'll write the file off as corrupt. Interestingly enough, the data.ext4.tar is also corrupt. Does this mean it's a time for a new microSD card? Or is it CWM that's writing corrupt files somehow?
Access system files from recovery any use .

First be sure there are no spaces when you renamed the file. Then you can check out this post on repairing md5 sum errors. I think they get corrupted when copied from PC to phone.

You have to rename the file back to its original name.

I downloaded the Android 4.4.2 source code that turned out to be about 14GB with more than 4,00,000 files.
I want to back up the folder in some .tar or zip or similar archive so that I can start fresh if something goes wrong in the working copy. I tried making a .tar.gz archive but it gave file permission errors during extracting and won't extract anymore.
So, how do I go about this ??

This is what I did in my starting days
I copied all the folders from the source directory to another HDD which was just 80gb... I kept it permanently as my backup HDD...
But while copying don't copy everything at once... Copy in pieces... The 'external, framework n repo' folders are huge... So copy one by one... Or It'll take forever to copy....
But actually backups aren't required... You can always reset any changes you make to any file..!
But what's wrong with archiving ? I get multiple errors of "Cannot create symbolic link".
And how can reset the changes of the entire source code ??
Hi,
I'm new with this, and tried to update my Lenovo Vibe X2 to the most recent rom that I found... it is a custom rom, basicly the latest version without the chinese applications.
I read a little and saw some videos, to update it using the sp flash tool. And I made it... using the option Format+download :cyclops:
Now I have it updated, but my phone has invalid IMEI , MAC, etc... Reading a little more, I found some indications to restore the IMEI, but I would like some help to avoid be worst that it is.
I have an online Nandroid backup, that I make before the flash, I can see the files in Nandroid Manager...
boot.img, cache.ext4.tar, data.ext4.tar, nandroid.md5, recovery.img, recovery.log, system.ext4.tar
So, is it possible restore the original NVRAM from my backup and apply it using the sp flash tool?
Thank's in advance for any kind of help.
Regards,
Cristiano.

Hi!
Let me try explain...
First of all, I install the FX explorer and the ROOT add on for it. I used it to explore my backups and copy the files to the root directories.
- Copy your backup to your phone (if you don't have yet)
- Enter in the FX explorer and navigate in the MAIN STORAGE and go to your backup directory (in my case the clockworkmod)
- In this directory, enter in the data.ext4.tar file
- And after that, go to DATA
- And access NVRAM directory
- MD directory
- NVRAM directory
- NVD_IMEI directory
- hold at MP0B_001 file, and select COPY option
- back into the first menu and select the option SYSTEM (ROOT)
- Go to /data/NVRAM/MD/NVRAM/NVD_IMEI directory and paste the file...
Now the IMEI was restored.
After that, you can do the same, going to /DATA/NVRAM/APCFG/APRDEB directory of you backup and copy all files
Go to the SYSTEM ROOT enter in the same directory /DATA/NVRAM/APCFG/APRDEB and paste all files.
Now you can reboot you phone and the magic comes true... The IMEI, MAC_Address was restored and NVRAM Wifi removed.
Good luck.
Let me know if you have any question.
Regards,
