Hi there,
I just bought a 1GB/8GB/2,100 TrueSmart, which will not detect any MicroSIM though it's been inserted the correct way as shown within the manual. It is mechanically accepted by the slot as mentioned with that soft click. All other positions won't lead to this proper position inside the slot. Though it's obviously seated correctly, the icon on the status bar won't lose its red x-mark. SIM settings are always greyed out, it seems to make no difference whether a SIM is inserted or not. Android is not able to recognize the SIM being inserted. BUT: The SIM works properly on my Xperia.
Software- and baseband-versions as shown on screenshots (png-files). What the hell is wrong with my TS? Without that SIM-functionality the TS has no more possibilities than that worthless Apple watch. I could only throw it away into the trash can...
Maybe anyone else had a similar issue with his TrueSmart? Is there any other solution than throwing it away?

after 3 weeks of trying to get hold of this device, finally got it today (yesterday)
Problems already! URGH
any SIM card I insert, I always get an "invalid or missing simcard" - im sure i placed the sim card in the correct way and reading the manual of course. I've even performed a hard reset just to make sure and I still get the same problem.
Does this mean that already, after 3 weeks of trying to obtain the phone and the whole transfer number to another sim then to another etc... was pretty much a run around and turning out that the phone is faulty?
is there a way to fix it or perhaps some setting that im not aware of to forcefully enable detection of networks or something?
help!
If you are pretty sure that you had your SIM card in correctly, there isn't much you can do. Sound like a faulty phone.
Anyway, my advise is, get another technical savvy person to double confirm your SIM card is in.
And, as for your answer, there isn't any way of getting the phone to see a network if it is not able to get hold of the SIM card.
I have a international i9300 procured from USA.
It got a new microsim to try on the phone but it did not detect it.
Also, I flashed latest CyanogenMod nightly till the SIM got activated.
No show, no SIM detected.
Strangely same SIM was detected fine on a friend's iPhone.
Friend's hand cut MicroSIM was detected fine on my phone.
So, I restored original office stock Samsung ROM using Odin.
Still it shows no SIM card detected.
I have changed 3 sims to get this working but alas no luck.
Tried flashing atleast 5 baseband radios, again no luck.
efs folder is intact. IMEI number and Serial number are fine. So that cannot be a problem.
Did anyone ever face this problem? Googling did not help even after trying all the suggestions.
Can someone help me understand what I am doing wrong here?
What should I be looking at?
Thanks,
Are you sure it's an international version?....if so, has it been unlocked or was it factory unlocked?
Do you and your friend have your SIM cards from the same carrier?
[SOLVED]
So it took some closer observation in figuring out that one of the SIM module pins was bent. This resulted in poor contact between SIM and the module. Thus the no SIM card error.
I used a LED flashlight and a sewing needle to pull it up enough at same level as rest of the 2 pins.
Works now!
If anyone faces this issue even after changing lot of baseband radios and ROMs. Look first at your SIM module contacts. They should be slightly raised and at one level. Do not panic to order a replacement module.
Use a high intensity light, a magnifying glass , a needle and steady hands to pull the pressed or bent contact up. There you go, it should work.
Thanks,

Hi all.
I've had my mi8 lite global for a few weeks now.
It's been great, seems to do all I need and more.
But, I've more recently been having an issue with it dropping my Sim card.
I can be using it or sitting standby and it'll suddenly flash to the lock screen and and show no Sim card found in the notification area.
Sometimes it can go a decent length of time with no issue (couple of days) while other times it'll repeatedly do it in one session.
Rebooting the phone brings it back to normal each time.
I've also tried putting my Sim in slot two and it doesn't read it all.
And another issue I have is my alarm failing, twice now.
No notification or anything. Just didn't go off.
Not sure if it's related or not.
Thanks!
I've sorted the alarm issue.
I allowed the clock to auto start.
But any tips or advice on how to sort and solve the SIM card issue?
Maybe it's the simcard itself try to test with another one
Don't have another SIM card. I can order one though.
It's also a new SIM card.
Where it's irregular, makes it difficult to prove where the issue is.
I can put my sim in an old phone but it's a faulty phone.
Does android save these kind of things to a log?

same thing happening here with the SIM card, any solutions or tips?
My phone (BE2029) has no signal (the card is identified as normal), doesn't matter which slot the sim card is in (card works, checked on another phone). Can this be a software issue or necessarily hardware? What are possible fixes? What other information do I need to provide for the issue to be identified if what I provided is not enough? Where else could I post this to try to get help (posted in r/oneplusnord a while ago, no response)? Any help or information is appreciated.
How did you get the sim? If you got it from a retail store, you could probably trade it in for another. Is this a new phone? New in box, or did someone have it before you, and break it (flash bad radio ROM, etc)? If the latter, I'd search here for the EDL mode tool to reflash the ENTIRE device to stock (other than IMEI etc).
When you first connected, did your carrier feed you the APN info (usually automatic)? Do any of the apps that show cell info show that your phone is seeing cell towers? If you go into the SIM settings (Wifi&NW -> Sim & NW -> Sim Setting, does it show the SIM as active? You can futz with the settings there, including picking a network manually (not recommended, but who knows...). At least for me (T-Mo) you can get the "right" answers from their website.
Hope that helps...
Would try the cell tower check, but since then, the sim card broke as well... Sorry, thank you for your help (I really wanted to know it too, but when I put the card in, it broke so I decided not to put any more sims in it)
